Garces Memorial High School

I am on my third child at Garces and have been pleased. The academics are rigorous so if you are taking college prep courses it's like gate in the public high school. Small classes, accommodating teachers, people are friendly and the office staff has been great. Because it's a small school, kids can play more than one sport and/or go out and learn a new one. It's a Catholic school but they do not try to convert you! I love the religion and faith my kids are exposed too. It is rich with tradition and I feel as though we are apart of the Garces family now and always. I can't say enough good things about this school.

Very good education but VERY POOR ADMINISTRATION - They are more worried about thier image than they are about doing right by the students. This unfortunately has been proven time and time again. Supposed to be a Christian school but does not follow Christs teachings. Before putting your kids at this school I'd check out any number of other quality Christian schools in the area.

Would leave 0 stars if i was able to. Terrible experience sending my children here. Don't make the same mistake as me

Garces was amazing when the pandemic hit. Their students did not miss a beat. They closed on Friday and we're in full class mode vis Zoom on Monday. They were able to open earlier and have been very responsive to the health and welfare of their students. We have been very happy with the education that my boys have received at Garces Memorial. I would recommend this school for everyone. It's not perfect, but MUCH better than the experiences we had in the Kern High School District.

Faith, family and friends! Wonderful school with such traditions and unity. The academics are definitely higher level so when they get to college they are prepared.

Garces has a long history of values, traditions and academics. It is like a close knit community and family. Personally the best high school in Bakersfield! Go Rams!!!
