Galaxy Theatres Porterville

So, it's been a minute since coming to the movies. Decided to bring my mom & aunt on Mother's Day. When it came to ordering from the concessions, we ordered a #1 & #2, both adding up to almost $50! When I asked for 6 lil containers of jalepenos, they said they were only allowed to give 2 per customer. Mind you, we were 4 in our party making 1 purchase transaction! So, us 4 were the ONE paying customer! I even offered to pay extra for more, they said, "NO." That there wasn't a button for that! For as much as they charge for items that they are definitely marking up, they are playing very stingy! Even as I offer to pay extra, which they have done before! I doubt I'll be coming as often this summer. I'll drive the extra miles out of town to be better served!

We arrived on a Wednesday evening, at 4pm and had the theater all to ourselves. It was nice and the staff is super friendly. They have a lot of snack options.People think the snacks are overpriced, but the truth is, theaters dont make any money off of ticket sales; they keep the doors open and staff paid with sales from refreshments and snacks, so I didnt mind paying extra to keep wifey happy with a hot dog, soda and some candy.The movie was great. Joker is awesome and an extremely authentic look at mental illness. The theater screen we saw wasn't as large as I remember it being, but I think they reserve the largest screen for newer releases. The only thing I could say could have been remedied was that the theater hadn't been cleaned before each showing, however as the movie ended, the custodian showed up drenched in sweat, I assume from cleaning another room.We had fun and I'm grateful this theater exists in Porterville. The rewards card is a plus. We'll be back.

Only theater left in Porterville so do not skip the movies or it may be gone too! It is centrally located across from a pizza place and next to a gym and donut shop! Sign up for rewards and go on Tuesday for a discounted price!

What a great idea, rent the entire theatre for you and a small group of friends for 99$. The staff was amazing! It was incredible during covid to see a movie (bring your favorite) and have popcorn. What a creative idea to feel a touch normal again. Yes, masks are still required. Be safe out there and go see this clean theatre!

Worst theater ever.. stiff uncomfortable dirty chairs. You can literally see the dirt on them I didn't even want to sit on them. I felt like my legs were being bit and sure enough when I got in light I had red bites on my legs. I'll never go back to this place. Forgot to take a picture of the chairs

So disappointing, my daughter went to watch a late movie so they were the last ones out , didn't notice she forgot her purse till the next day called the theater it was there, upon arrival she noticed her purse was open and her $100 was stolen and then noticed her wallet was too including her bank card and a few gift cards as well . Only her driver license was left. I contacted a manager he said it was probably an employee or a janitor that took it , he mentioned that the janitors work for a different company. Blaming more the janitors . I tell my daughter to shop locally but in this case I rather drive to out of town. My family and friends go here, more likely won't come back.

If I could give a half star I would . This place advertises Coke Zero and both fountain machines didn't work. Save your money and go somewhere else.

If I can give Ruby a rating I would give her a 10 out of 5 stars. She's super professional and she knows Myself My friend Stephanie and our friend Mario are WEEKLY regulars we go to galaxy 9 once or eve twice a week. It's a shame Ruby wasn't there today to witness the poor service by one of the staff that asked to see a ticket when my friend (who's a regular) was already outside theatre.. maybe shes a trainee because we had never had any complain or rude service like that mind you it was during the day and non packed for her to have done that.. Ruby gets 10 stars but the female staff member from today gets 1 star. Do better. I hate being a Mexican karen about this but I do NOT like when they treat my friends poorly.​

Today i took my nephew to see The Flash i am a regular with my friends we go one or sometimes even two times a week to watch a movie, i never had a bad experience they are usually very nice but today after the movie was done my nephew was playing in the punching machine and basketball game when i saw a girl in the food court looking at us my nephew finished playing we went outside so this girl went outside too and asked to see my tickets i was like what why we already saw the movie we are out but if you want to see it ill show it it to you she said just making sure and she went back inside she wasn't nice at all

My kids (18,14 & 6) went to enjoy a movie and the arcade and received rude and aggressive customer service from a "big fat guy with a disgusting neck beard". He told them rudely to "Put on a mask or leave". They didn't have any so they asked for if the theatre had any and the same guy told them "$3 for 3 masks", I thought that it was required for a business to provide a mask it required a person to wear one but regardless the delivery was rude. My kids said the man acted like he wanted to fight them. They bought tickets and saw the whole movie without any other staff asking that they wear one. This place is disgusting and old and should be lucky that I allowed my family to visit a creepy swamp like this and we will NEVER be back!
