Fairy Godmother

We have worked with Colleen and the Fairygodmother team for over 8 years and the level of professionalism and kindness is just incredible. As a wedding and event photographer, I can tell you that having Colleen there on your wedding day will be one of the best decisions you make. She is detailed, thoughtful, respectful, helpful, has zero ego, is so kind, and her goal is always to work together as a team with the wedding professional team before and leading up to the wedding and throughout the wedding day. Anything I need her to do to help keep the day running smoothly, she does without a second thought. Working together is a dream and we always love when our clients choose FGM. She is a problem-solver and carries herself in a way that she elevates everyone with her. She is classy and sweet, and is one of the best investments you will make; from designing and planning, to event production - she does it all, and is the best of the best.

I will start by saying that I am a very type-A person. I love organization, I admire meticulous work & need things to be executed in a manner that shows no stone gets left unturned. I looked into a few different wedding planners when I first got engaged & interviewed a couple of them. Naturally, I left the best for last - which was, of course, Fairy Godmother. She was the only planner I met with that had her own office space (an adorable one at that) & who had examples galore to show me. The moment she brought out her binder of wedding planning sheets, detailed documents, timelines, & slideshow for design - it was hook, line & sinker for me. We booked her that very next day. I booked her about a year & a half before my wedding & she started the planning process with me right away. She did the most amazing job at making me feel like I was the only bride she had. She always answered my calls, emails, & texts within the day & put any worries I had to rest. Any time we had a touch base call - which was often - she made me feel at ease & reminded me that I was ahead of schedule & to take a minute to breathe. She truly cares about her clients & makes sure everything runs smoothly. She has different packages that can fit anyone's budget from full planning, the month of, day of coordination - or just chat with her & she could work with what your needs are.I chose full planning because we were planning a 250-person wedding. She recommended the most amazing vendors that anyone could choose from & even connected us via text or email. She was the main liaison between us & our vendors to ensure everyone was on the same page; she even made sure she went over any contracts we had to ensure everything booked got executed correctly. During the planning process, she sent me a series of documents to fill out for details of the wedding party, what style I love, & my dream design, she created my budget documents, sent me all the notes she took during every single one of our touch base phone calls & made me think about aspects of the wedding day I would have NEVER thought of myself. As we neared the last 7ish months before the wedding, decided to completely cancel our large wedding, move the date & move the now 30-person intimate wedding to a new city; without so much of a blink of an eye, Colleen said no problem, where are we going & what do you want to do? Things changed again so we decided to keep it in Bakersfield & Colleen, again, went with the flow, not bothered whatsoever. It was truly such a relief to have her helping me every step of the way. Enter other members of her fairy team - like Sara D. - my designer. Immaculate, impeccable, & pristine are the words I would use to describe her & her work. She took my Pinterest board & my vision & completely created a design that was completely outside of my expectations. There was an issue with guests who didn't RSVP who RSVP'd at the last minute & we would have been short chairs - well leave it to the Fairy team to get it taken care of. They have amazing relationships with wedding pros & can get things handled because of how well their team works & the professionalism they bring. While at rehearsal the day before, the grass wasn't cut at the venue. Colleen was able to get it taken care of & the venue was in pristine condition just in time for the wedding. I truly was in awe of their work. Finally, come the day of the wedding. Colleen's setup team arrived along with my designer, Sara & they executed the most amazing ceremony & reception I could have EVER imagined; every detail I wanted was done - every picture I had framed was placed around so beautifully, & every single one of my candles was lit without anyone even noticing when they were lit or by whom, they moved my flowers from the ceremony to the reception & we were kept on time with the timeline of our day. Truly, our day would not have run so smoothly without Colleen & the Fairy Godmother team. If you are debating whether or not you want a wedding planner, book Fairy Godmother, you will NOT regret it.

I had already left a 5 star review for my fairy Sara for everything she did for us pre- postponement. She was amazing and she helped us find a new date ALL our vendors could move to less than 24 hours after our original venue cancelled on us. She went out on maternity leave right after our original date and we were then assigned to Callie. I can't imagine being assigned to an already planned wedding after a postponement, mid-pandemic with a couple you've never met. But Callie did an awesome job catching up on who we were as a couple, our vision and what we did and didn't want. Since our new venue still hadn't opened back up 6 weeks before our new date, we decided to change venues again to our friends' home to ensure we could still have our wedding this time around. That meant re-planning most of the wedding in a few short weeks- and a lot more vendor inquiries and visits for Callie and I. It was a stressful last couple weeks, and an almost hiccup, but Callie and Colleen made sure everything was settled and perfect. Fast forward to our wedding day- it was absolutely perfect and there is nothing I would change. I spent the morning relaxing and getting ready with my girls with not a care in the world because I knew Callie was there to keep us all on track ( and Anne with the guys).Thank you Sara, Callie, Anne and Colleen and all our vendors for making our wedding day so perfect and stress free!!!

I used fairy godmothers (collen) for my wedding October 1st,2022. I had lots of meetings and phone calls helping me with any thing I needed throughout my wedding planning process. So much help! The day of was amazing and so much help. I couldn't have done with without her and her team. I got to relax and enjoy my wedding as well as my mother and family. I highly recommend getting a fair godmother. And so happy I did for my wedding !

Another successful even organized by Cassandra, everything was perfect, the decor, the food the service. The yard was returned to its original state before they all left. Was a wonderful way to throw a dinner meeting. Thanks again for making us look so good!!!!

Fairy Godmother is the absolute greatest. We had the honor and privilege of having Colleen and Sara as our fairies AKA our rock stars! Sara, the designer of our wedding, helped bring to life the wedding of my dreams. She is such an amazing artist and turned my basic ideas into masterpieces. She designed every aspect of our wedding perfectly and took every thought I had and made it into art. I am beyond grateful for her craft, skill, and talent! While Sara was the greatest designer I could have possibly met, my husband and I also had the opportunity to work with Colleen. Let me tell you: COLLEEN MADE OUR DAY PERFECT. She was so amazing in every aspect of the planning and day of. She timed our day our perfectly, kept all of our vendors informed, and had an answer for everything. If there was a minor inconvenience or issue, Colleen had already taken care of it before I even knew it was there in the first place! As a bride, I wanted to have the perfect wedding day. Because of Fairy Godmother, IT WAS!! If you want an amazing, seamless, and stress-free wedding, hire Fairy Godmother. I promise you won't regret it! :)

I was initially going to wait until my three year wedding anniversary to write this review just to prove to you not only are they incredible event coordinators but they bring great luck to marriages. However, I'm currently reminiscing on my Magical Day and came across some incredible pictures of my Fairy Godmother(s) and I just couldn't help but share this review.When I came across their table at a wedding Expo my first impression was wow these ladies are full of happiness, and great energy. I left wanting to book them immediately. So I called them and made an appointment. I have to admit things were rocky at the beginning, but Colleen immediately handled my issue and matched me with Cassandra. I can write a novel about how amazing Cassandra as my Fairy Godmother but I wont. I will tell you she is amazing at recommending great wedding vendors that will fit your budget. Aside from meeting with me often she had my special day planned out to a T. The day of she met me at the Salon where I was getting my make-up and hair styled and was hard at work ensuring everything ran smoothly. I also had two other wonderful fairies on the day of, Pam and Leticia. while Cassandra focused entirely on me, Pam and Leticia focused on every detail at our venue. Cassandra, Pam and Leticia made sure to coordinated with the catering company, the DJ, the mariachi, the Pastor officiating our wedding (my precious Father-in-Law), and ensured any family members involved in our wedding knew their role and timing. My special day was truly Magical. I was treated like a princess that day. When i was thirsty and cup of water would magically appear, when i was tired of my heels my sandals would magically appear, if I needed a make-up touch up Cassandra was on it. I don't recall anything going wrong at my wedding, and if it did it must have been handled behind scenes because I was never stressed out. My only focus was to marry the man of my dreams and have a happy filled day and I know that was all made possible thanks to this amazing group of women from fairy Godmother who worked tirelessly to give me the best day of my life. To this day we still have people tell us that our wedding was their favorite wedding. Every penny spent was entirely worth it.I can tell you hiring Fairy Godmother is an investment. They will save you so much unwanted stress, they will treat you like you're the queen/king of your event. They will ensure your party is one many will remember for years to come. Don't think twice and stop wasting time looking elsewhere.

We had a terrible experience with this company and fired them before the wedding. They gave my daughter, the bride to be, endless questionnaires to fill out and took us to a shabby looking business outside of our town for the flowers and rentals. We later heard that Fairy Godmother Events receives kickbacks from certain businesses, If true, it's shameful. I'd have rather paid more and supported a local business. Terrible experience and cannot recommend.

Colleen is a consummate professional and exactly who you want helping you with an important event. Whenever I've needed to hire specialists and professionals in Bakersfield I've been worried--the selection is limited, so often you're "stuck" with what might not pass muster in a major metro. That was in no way the case here: Colleen is exactly the type of event planner I prefer to work with on putting together a major function. But why do I say that? Let me mention some of the areas that impressed:* Organized: When it comes down to it, this is the most important trait of an event planner. She made sure the subs (AV, musicians, linens, florists, etc) did their work as planned from set-up to strike. As a client I did not worry about anything other than paying them (and she handled paying their invoices with transparency). * Connected: I don't live in Bakersfield, so I needed someone who not only knew vendors, but also knew the ones who could deliver on what I wanted. She did, the event was exactly as envisioned without hiccups. This took away a lot of possible stress for me as the client. * Demeanor: Anyone who works in events knows the best stay calm, poised, and positive. They're never frantic. They're always in command, they are always there to support the client and/or principle. It made working with her a pleasure. * Inspired: I came in with ideas, but it was a fairly last-minute event and Colleen came up with options that helped make the event even better. I appreciated she was willing to take risks and give options I might not have considered -- I didn't take them all, but it was nice to have ideas to choose from. For the above points (and I'm sure I'm missing a few more), I recommend Colleen, The Fairy Godmother, without reservation for your most important events.
