F & M Fabrics

If you do any kind of sewing this is the place you can find most anything. The amount of fabric is overwhelming. If they don't have it, you don't need it! I spoke with Marcel who opened F&M in 1999. This fabric store is a survivor! The inventory of fabrics & notions is staggering. They carry upholstery fabrics and anything needed for your project. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

I can't believe I haven't written a review for my favorite fabric store in all of Bakersfield, the great great F&M Fabrics. I have been coming here since I was a little girl this is my moms spot! They have great prices and all the fabrics you could dream of like glitter to your favorite sport's teams. The people are very helpful and the owner is super nice! Not to mention this place is. amazing and resilient all the business around have come and gone and this one remains so, it makes me nostalgic when I walk in always good memories. I remember coming here with my mom after school and it meant my mom was going to make me a new dress, pj's, or a blanket. Now we go to pick fabrics for my classroom decor or to get ribbon to make bows for my niece. Whatever we need they have it and for a great price.

I absolutely love this fabric store. It's perfect for people who are creative and want to explore the possibilities of fabric. There is some limitation on what's available in terms of things that are new or they might not necessarily have a color that you want, but the staff is extremely knowledgeable and there is so much to choose from at really manageable prices! I absolutely love this place and I go there all the time. They have an endless supply of notions and their fleece patterns can't be beat! Highly recommend!

After a few years of attempting to explore this place, I finally had the chance to visit while planning what to wear for Halloween. This is a huge fabric store compared to some stores in Bakersfield. They have a wide variety of fabrics and all sewing accessories that you can think off. If you can't find anything in their showroom, check the fabrics by the window. Those were the fabrics that were in the back storage because they don't have space in the show room.They also have sequined stuff that are on sale but you have to be patient to dig through things. I'm not sure if their prices are reasonable, but so far they have not exceeded my budget. If you're into sewing, this place is definitely worth your visit and you'll be like me- "a kid in a candy store"!

I go here because it's the biggest fabric place in town.It always feels like the place needs to be dusted.They don't have a lot of other items to choose from, such as thread, scissors, needles, buttons, and such and what they do have seems as if they were leftovers from the 1970s.When walking around the store I get the feeling as if some of the items have been in the place since day one. They don't seem offer deals or coupons (I check every now and then) The staff could be a bit more friendly, the women always seem to be angry.

I have been waiting for my order for an entire week already. When I called and spoke to "Martha" she was of no help whatsoever. I was explaining to her that I hope they have the product I PURCHASED since it was such a delay on my order and she seemed to not care at all and would not let me speak and rudely kept speaking over me. This business is unacceptable of how they treat their PAYING CUSTOMERS. So disappointed and will never shop here again! Worst customer service! After a few MORE days of not receiving a call to confirm my order was ready I called to cancel them. They started telling me "Oh no we can have it ready for you by today, can you come pick it up?" I stated "No! I want my money back!" I got my refund but this was so unacceptable!!

Stopped here for some outdoor fabric for a canopy cover.The staff was nice and polite, and helped me with the large bulky material.

I have been coming to F & M Fabrics for 40 years. I started when they were in a smaller shop and busting at the seams. I ALWAYS find Fabric I want even if I don't have a project Hope I'm still going for 40 more!Cyndee, Seamstress
