Emcor Hillcrest AC saved the day for us today! Our AC went out and all the places that were recommended to me by friends were too busy to make time for a quote today or wanted to charge me an arm and a leg. Edgar Sanchez from Emcor Hillcrest came out with just a couple hours notice, and was able to fix my AC on the spot. He gave me some great advice about maintenance too. I am really grateful! We thought we were going to have to cancel our vacation next week to pay for our AC, and now we can go and breathe easy without the stress of a broken AC. I will definitely call again for our maintenance and if anything else goes wrong. Edgar was nice and professional and obviously knew exactly how to fix what was wrong.

Would not recommend this company at all. A friend of ours parents needed the compressor changed out on their AC unit. They charged them 3400.00 for a 300.00 part. Three weeks later the compressor went out and they want to charge them 1800.00 to put another one in. The part should be under warranty for one year and HIllcrest is telling them it is not. Every HVAC contractor that I have asked says that it should be under warranty. My guess is that the original part was used and had no warranty to be had (just an assumption but it's what I think). These guys SUCK! Please make sure you get a few estimates and try not to get ripped off. I feel horrible for elders or anyone for that matter that gets robbed so blatantly.

Their tech guys are very good but the customer service, scheduling, follow up is really horrible. I have been using Hillcrest for 10-15 years and haven't ever had so many problems trying to get some filters installed and scheduled! Being busy is no excuse, I am a customer also and expect good service, not oh we are really busy and your 8:00am appointment may be there by 10am. I think its time to change companies for my heating and A/C. I even put a call to one of the managers Dave Cooty, no call back!!!!!

"Lori" who schedules their appointments said its 100.00 plus just to send someone out and its more if you have a cooler/ac we consider it a duel which is more money," cha ching"! Been going to them for 20 plus years and now they are trying to scam people because they can because its summer in BAKERSFIELD. they have never charged me a duel charge because they never service the cooler.as a loyal customer im very disappointed.

Horrible customer service! We called about having someone come out to install a Smart Thermostat. We were quoted $135/hour. It took the technician 55 minutes to install. Our bill was over $300 because he said we also get charged for drive time from his last job in 93309 to our location in 93306. He gave us a "discount" and charged us $202, which is still way more than we were quoted. We called and spoke to the manager who said the extra charge is for the 20 minutes he spent with his supervisor on the phone trying to figure out our bill. Very, very shady business! Do not use!!!!!

I had Hillcrest come out to a Diagnostics on my air conditioning they told me everything was working fine and they charged me $99 put a rip off I will never recommend this company to walk my dog or feed my rabbits the higher guys that they send a school for 8 hours up at DC college and now they're certified AC technicians that's a load of crap that takes years to learn the industry and know what to look for all they're looking for is to replace your unit on the roof they don't want to fix what is wrong because all they are is Parts Changers they're not somebody that can diagnose correctly the first time and fix it us people out here in hotland we're happy to pay to get fixed the first time but we're not out here to try to spend the rest of our money on a unit that don't need to be replaced on a roof for $400 worth of repair so again Hillcrest sucks really sucks totally sucks God damn sucks I'm still waiting for my refund that you said that you told me I can come down and get I told you to mail it to my address you still owe me a dollar I give you $100 cash and your technician did not have change you still owe me a dollar but you can keep that dollar I like your one star post that will help out your business a lot hahaha

An update to my previous review. Dave S. (Service manager) contacted me to profusely apologize for my experience with his company. After our discussion about what obviously went wrong he agreed it was a huge blunder on their part. Dave has promised to make it good to my satisfaction. Either Dave is the best actor in the world or he is a very sincere, honest, likable and truthful guy. I believe after our talk that he indeed is the latter. I do believe that their thermostat quote was a doozy as mistakes go. Dave agrees and that's why he contacted me.

This company put in two new air conditioners for us. A few years later, we had a problem with one of them. They sent out a service tech, that said there was nothing wrong. We called again for the same reason. They sent out another tech who was here for 14 hours. He had no idea what he was doing. He finally called someone else out at 10:00pm. They finally fixed it. Charged us a second service call. The tech took our credit card for the cost of the repair, then we receive a notice of non payment and they were going to send to collection. Called their office, talked to the employee there with an explanation and a copy of the receipt. She said we would gat a call from the manager within the hour. NEVER heard from them until they turned us into collection. REALLY. We had to overpay for the incompetence of this company. DO NOT CALL HILLCREST AIR for anything. You will be sorry. They used to be a very reputable company, but no more.
