My family and I will never been eating here again. Customer service was very disappointing. Except for the male waiter in training. Food came out late and disgusting.

Ah, pupusas, El Salvador's bit of heavenly goodness shared with the world. This literal hole in the wall restaurant in a swap meet style location is a diamond in the rough with great pupusas. On this particular day, I was craving pupusas....which led me to do a pupusa Yelp search...and my curiosity paid off. I called in my order (4 pupusas revueltas - mixed) and drove 3 minutes from work to pick up my order. As I said before, the restaurant is a diamond in the rough, however don't judge a book by its cover. The restaurant might be humble but the food is on point. The pupusas I ordered were ready for pick up and ready for the car ride back to my work. As I unwrapped the pupusas from the foil and placed them on a plate, they were still piping hot. I put the curtido (pickled cabbage slaw) on top of them followed by the salsa. As I took a bite, the flavor of every ingredient was present. The corn tortilla was griddled to perfection, the stuffing was flavorful, the cheese was melty and gooey. Each bite was a treat. If you find yourself on the East Side of town looking for a good place to eat pupusas, stop on by and enjoy one or 4.

I have not been here in several years but I remember it being pretty good so I'm going to give a 4 star just offer that but today if anything changes I'll change my rating. Well I just have a chicken soup and it was 5 star!

Ordered the Bistec Salvadoreño the meat tasted like rubber. It was kind of raw and chewey...also had a liver taste (as if it was boiled). I asked for a Piña Colada but they said they didn't serve it, weird then why do you have it on the menu? The picture showed the Bistec Salvadoreño served with black beans and a white rice but when the plate got there it was refried beans and mexican rice...just a little confusing on what is on menu and what they haveLooks like a walk up counter restaurant but it's not. One of the servers was really nice and helpful the other seemed clueless of what they sold

I am sitting in the restaurant as I write this review. This place doesn't look like much, but you will be impressed by their food. This is my third time here in less than a month. Our first visit we happened to order fried yucca with chicharones: it was the best my wife and I have ever had in the US. We ordered the same thing on our second visit and it wasn't as delicious as our first visit, but it was still pretty good. I came in tonight, hoping to repeat my first experience here. We have also enjoyed the fajitas and the pupusas. I think their pupusas are amongst the best in Bakersfield. I ordered two of those for dinner tonight (and it's likely I will have one leftover for lunch tomorrow.)This place is worth the visit.

Black beans for platanos were good. Pupusas were good but that's it. We were the only ones there and waited a good 30 min for our food. She also seemed confused the entire time she took our order. Don't order the corn tamale it was still raw when it got to the table.

ordered 2 al pastor tacos and one chicken taco, also ordered 2 pupusas, waited over an hour because they said cook was sick, after an hour received 1 chicken taco and 2 asada, was told they are out of al pastor wasn't even advised before hand, and they just decided I wanted asada.....didn't even ask me, I also only got one pupusa, was told they forgot to put the other order in.Didn't even receive a discount after an hour wait, and receiving the wrong food, highly do not recommend. Terrible customer service.

Not good at all. The only good things are the pupusas. My kids ordered chicken nuggets and fries and they were super dry. My husband ordered carne asada fries and also nasty. He ended up buying food else where we didn't even take nothing to go. Not worth the drive or money.
