This is for the Hanford location. Food is great, service was good and the drinks were perfect. I didn't feel it was overpriced compared to other area Mexican restaurants. They have a really fun atmosphere in the restaurant with good music!!

I had to dust off my Yelp app and reinstall it just to share this experience, and I wish I didn't have to! This Mexican restaurant was an absolute disappointment from start to finish.First off, the service was horrendous. It felt like we were an afterthought instead of valued customers. Even the table next to us got fed up after waiting 15 minutes for the server to pick up their credit card to pay the bill. They finally got up and took it to the bar to pay themselves!I ordered chicken fajitas, and what a letdown they were! The vegetables looked very old and limp, and the platter was supposed to be served sizzling--definitely not the case here. Instead, it arrived looking like a wet muddy mess with tiny bits of dried chicken that resembled leftovers from yesterday.My wife ordered the beef plate, and it tasted a bit fishy, like they might be using the same grill for both beef and fish without properly cleaning it. To make matters worse, they seemed more focused on selling you an average-at-best $15 margarita than providing quality food. As a table of five, we were only served a small basket of chips, and they wanted to charge $4.00 for an extra basket. On top of that, a dab of sour cream was an additional $2.00, and a tablespoon of cheese to top off your refried beans was another $2.00! Constant upcharges are a complete turnoff for your dining experience, especially when they are for basic topping or condiments traditionally served at a Mexican restaurant.When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the manager even argued with me about taking the fajitas off my bill, despite the fact that I only had a small bite of the wet muddy mess. I told her the cook should be embarrassed for serving such a dish.The prices here are sky-high for such low quality and a miserable experience. Save your money and your time--this place is not worth it!Only 3 positives worth mentioning: the hostess was great, the corn tortillas as well, and no up charge to refill your water.

This local spot recently got a facelift on the inside and I gotta say while I loved the old charm of this place compared to the remodel, the food is still delicious. Service is great and friendly. Favorite Mexican spot in town.

Cute downtown restaurant. Food was good; salsa had a lightly smoky, spicy flavor, and enchilada tortillas seemed to have absorbed a mildly saucy flavor. The beans were good, and rice was light and fluffy. Overall, though, a good choice. I took away one point because service was good but a little slow and because prices were on the high side for the central valley - $21.99 for shrimp enchiladas with rice and beans.

Being a regular at any great restaurant has its advantages for both the restaurant and the customer. Being a regular at a restaurant enables one to know when something is off and it's probably just a bad day. For whatever reason. So hearing from a customer when something is wrong is better than hearing it from someone that rarely comes to eat there and might never come back because of a bad experience. For me personally. El Tarasco flat out has the best Mexican food in town. I've seen criticism on other platforms about different things. From service to the food. I myself have had experiences with pretty bad service while eating here. But El Tarasco always seems to get it together. I've been pretty hard on them in some of reviews. Some of it was well deserved. I have even stayed away and taken my business elsewhere for a while. But I always come back to see how things are and they usually step up. So today after a long drive we came in for lunch and our server was Alma. She has been our server many times and really is the best. She knows what you like to drink and remembers who you are. I find that to be an amazing thing these days. She also knows when she hasn't seen you in a while. She's very nice and is an example of how a server should be. My wife had the chili verde plate and I had the shrimp tacos. Both come with rice and beans. For drinks the wife had a cucumber margarita and I had a large mug of Modelo. The food as I always say was amazing! This is why we keep coming back and being regular customers.

First time! Just be aware, chips refills are not free! We ordered drinks, took some time to get (literally ate our chips before our drinks arrived) , and the restaurant was not busy. Food was great, drinks were delicious. Our server Noemi never checked in with us, and she took even longer to get our bill. Overall it was ok, not too exciting. My vegan friends loved it.

Food was overpriced and pretty average compared to other places I've been. Service was overall pretty awful. We were ignored from the start never told who are actual server was I actually had to ask who are server was. I tried to order a chocolate martini but since the server never came till are food came out I gave up on that mission. Noticed other tables that ordered alcohol from the start actually got good service... wont be back.
