El Tango Reception Hall

The fact that these are not all 5 star reviews are crazy to me. I had my wedding almost four years ago during COVID time right after the vaccinations were available and this place is the BEST most beautiful accommodating place I absolutely love the Owner she was on top of it they tell you everything in great detail in your contract and during the walk through not sure how anyone would be confused by anything. BOOK THIS VENUE of you can afford too I still hush over my wedding photos and I would never have achieved my vision without this venue! Thank you El Tango for being the epitome of Opulence

I recently got married at El Tango. I've had my prom here and my quince. So when it was time to decide for my wedding venue, El tango was a no brainer. Diane was super helpful and kind all throughout this process. I was the bride with so many questions and she always answered them without hesitation. The hall is well kept and has plenty of photo opportunities. It's super classy. I would absolutely recommend El Tango Reception Hall.

I just had my wedding here on 9/10/22 and it was perfect! The outside is great for taking beautiful pictures and the venue itself is great for a large crowd! I really enjoyed the fact that we had the venue for the entire day and had plenty of time after last call to clean up and gather our things! We had the wedding of our dreams thanks to El Tangos wonderful staff!

Just had the most beautiful wedding at this place. At first I was kind of skeptical because of the (old) negative reviews but I'm glad I chose this venue. Not only is it beautiful but offers extended hours. All the newer venues in town want music off by 10:30 and everyone out by 11! Diane was an absolute pleasure & was always willing to work with us. She was always available to provide any resources or help as I opted to plan & coordinate all on my own. The whole wedding went off without a hitch. Not one single issue. Thank you El Tango & Staff.

We booked this hall for our wedding because it's a beautiful hall. Prior to the event everything seemed to go smooth with the staff from the hall. It wasn't until the end of the event that I experienced why everyone had told me to be careful with this place regarding them trying to tack on fees and charges towards my deposit that would make no sense.When I first did the walk-thru of the hall the day before our event I asked several questions as to what would cause any fees/charges against my deposit and they made it seem as if only if something was broken would they charge me anything.After doing the walk-thru after the event was over they had a long list of things that I was going to potentially be charged for including:- Scuffs on the wall (they rubbed off with your hand- no damage to the paint)- Stains on the table linen (of course there's going to be stains from the food & drinks. They never mentioned they would charge for this). Are you kidding me!!!- Everyone was out of the hall within 1 hour after the event ended as indicated in the contract, but we went to their office because I was questioning some of the items on their list of things they were going to charge for which took us 13 minutes to discuss. They ended up charging us for the 13 minutes ($5 per minute) that we spent in their office asking questions and 1 extra hour of security ($100) because of the 13 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous that we were charged for asking questions!!!This place operates in the most non-customer oriented fashion. They could care less of what the right thing to do is or not. I had heard several bad experiences about this hall from multiple people, yet I decided to give them a try and they sure lived up to their reputation of creating a bad experience. They show no sign of empathy to their clients and talk to you with a "you don't have to rent this place if you don't want to" attitude. The hall is absolutely beautiful, but their way of doing business completely overshadows the beauty of the place. It's a shame that they think it's okay to do business the way they do. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

I own a production/DJ company in town "The Social Vibe" and I absolutely love performing at El Tango. Not only is the staff friendly, this is definitely the premier indoor venue in Bakersfield. As soon as you drive up you know they took their time to design this venue to make brides dreams come true. Not only brides, but quinceañeras, sweet 16's and any corporate function. If you're in the market for a fairytale event, an event that will last in people's memories, this is the venue to book. Everything from the up lighting, the chandeliers all the way down to the linens, El Tango knows how to make their clients enjoy every bit of their event!

I had my wedding here. I didn't deal with them my wedding planner did. During dinner my bartender came up to me and said the owners of the facility wouldn't let him sell liquor. My heart dropped! I never found out why because he ended up sponsoring the liquor for us. I wish I would've known so I wasn't put in a weird situation. For the walk through, the next day. My wedding planner did it. She walked around with a rag and wiped down things they were trying to charge us for. (I love her!) We got our whole deposit back!!! Oh and BTW we used Hodels for catering and they provide linen. They don't say anything about stains because they come out. Unless it's burned or some kid writes on it with a pen or marker. I wouldn't use Tengos linen! I also wanted to rent wood chairs for my wedding. Tengo didn't allow me to because the floor might get scratched.

I just had my wedding here and everything about it was amazing. El tango staff were professional and amazing. El tango staff takes care of setting up tables, linens and anything they provides. Their bartenders are awesome and friendly. I would not change anything. Special Thanks to El TANGO for making my dream wedding come true. No issues at all

We hosted our wedding reception here! Our family and guests loved it! The hall exceeded our expectations. The price for the package we selected was very affordable! Dianne was amazing to work with. She was super helpful, and always prompt with her responses. They accommodated as needed! El Tango Reception Hall is truly breathtaking.
