El Rey

Not our first time eating at El Rey. We had lunch on Friday, February 14, 2024 at approximately 1300 hrs. Restaurant was not super busy. Empty tables were clean and ready for the next customer. Floors were swept, no food on the floors. Women's restroom was clean and fully stocked.When seated, the waitress serves a small bowl of salsa and warm tortilla chips. It was a rainy, windy and cold day so I ordered caldo de res to warm me up. I immediately noticed the caldo was lacking cabbage and green beans, which are standard ingredients in traditional caldo. Nonetheless, the caldo served at El Rey was served piping hot and it had good flavor. I added a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a big drizzle of the chile oil and it was perfect for my liking. The meat was beef shank, which needed a bit more cooking time but nothing that would change my rating. The bowl was a generous portion and served with a cup of Mexican rice and choice of corn (homemade) or flour tortillas. I chose the homemade corn tortillas. I would order the caldo again. My dad ordered the Milanesa de Res. Best description, kinda like chicken fried steak, sans gravy. Meat was tender and breading crispy. Everything was cooked to perfection. Customer service was on point and final bill was accurate. I highly recommend El Rey for a nice meal out or an alcoholic beverage. They have a really nice bar in the back and a nice clean outdoor patio.

We celebrated a 30th birthday party at El Rey, a local Mexican restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience. They offered a buffet-style dinner featuring delicious cheese enchiladas, chicken fajitas, and chili verde. The food was fantastic, and the setup was seamless, allowing our family and friends to get their plates without any hassle.They also provided unlimited chips and salsa along with soft drinks, which was a great touch. Despite our group of over 30 people, they accommodated us effortlessly. Matt, the owner, went above and beyond to ensure everyone's comfort, even bringing an extra table and chairs for my elderly grandparents who couldn't sit at the high-top tables.Brianna and Clarissa, who were working the floor and bar, were attentive and efficient, making sure we had everything we needed. The bar was open to us, and drinks were prepared quickly. Matt even surprised us with champagne, though it's not always on the menu, adding a special touch to our celebration.Everything was perfect, and we highly recommend El Rey for large group gatherings and their outstanding food. A big thank you to the team for cleaning up our party decor and going out of their way to make our celebration memorable!

l waited 1 hr for my food. The 8 people party next to us who arrived 20 min after us got all their food first. The server that got our order just avoided eye contact. She never acknowledged us or apologized for the inconvenience. Then, another server started bringing our food out. I told her i had been waiting an hour, and she responded "Really i didn't even noticed" and still didn't get an apology for the inconvenience. Horrible service This is my first and last time at this place.Food: bland, not worth the hour I waited. Waitress: white complexion, with green eyes.

My friend and I made plans to have dinner and she suggested this cute place in Delano. It was very clean and had a modern feel to it. The waitresses we very friendly and attentive. The food came out fresh and everything was delicious. The only reason I gave it a 4 was because I ordered a Piña agua Fresca and our waitress forgot. Maybe it was better I drank water anyway. Would come back!

Authentic Mexican restaurant, very friendly staff that gave us great recommendation on what to eat. Right from the Salsa to Moleajetes ( Combination), just outstanding food. Highly recommended.

Excellent food. Okay service. Cheap Napkins, cheap toilet paper. Nice building! Big bar in back.

Molcajete Carne for dinner tonight our fave go to place for a Mexican restaurant in Delano

First visit was a phone order for pickup to go. They took our CC info over the phone and gave us a 15-20min pickup time.We ordered the garlic shrimp plate, an El Rey taco and the El Rey fajitas.All were got and delicious. The homemade refried beans and corn tortillas were amazing.My favorite item was the El Rey taco. It's not cheap but was LOADED with shrimp and asada, and the chipotle sauce it came with put it over the top.

Ik i've done reviews on here but service in the bar is great manager made sure we where taken care of an drinks where really good

This plate was so delicious, first time trying this place out and I sat at the back where their bar is . The service was amazing . There were a couple servers that came and checked up on us while eating making sure our glasses were always full . I will definitely come again . Ambiance was amazing !
