BiG fan of their Happy Hour and Taco Tuesdays. And nothing says quality dining like Tableside Guacamole!We took the gang in for some of the cold brewski's and Sizzling Fajitas. What a great way to start or finish up any weekend.Service is always friendly and quick, and always a mouth-watering Michelada while we wait. Also fun hanging out with the locals in their BIG dining room with BIG tables. Always fun being in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, right here in Shafter.

Came for a family dinner and unfortunately this place disappoints again. Food is overpriced, small in portion, feels like your paying more for the fancy plates than anything. Got the Pete's Platter and it was not something I would order again. For larger crews the service is slow. Although it seems really nice and the place is clean since renovation there are other spots that are better in town for Mexican.

The food is always hot and quickly served. The service was great by all the staff. The cost is decent as well.

All day breakfast AND HH that starts at 2 pm! Great service. Food was DELICIOUS. Music in the bar was loud but perfect in the next room.

But... my bf had the New York Steak with shrimp and boy did that steak have the perfect flavor and was cooked to perfection, it melted in your mouth. He allowed me a few bites and I'm in love. We will definitely be back!

2nd time here and consistency is EXCELLENT!This time I tested the I tasted the enchiladas rancheros and the chili rellenos.When my play came I first went to the rice to make sure it was still delicious... It most definitely was. You can actually taste the lovely spices they use.Both dishes were delicious.If you're like me and enjoy chilli rellenos and all its elements you are going to enjoy these.The poblanos had that lovely sweetness to them, the s sauce was delicious and the cheese, was absolutely cheesy!The enchiladas rancheros are simply cheese enchiladas. I chose those because I really wanted the taste of the red chili sauce. It was delicious of course. I had kind of lost my taste for Mexican food because you rarely find a Mexican restaurant that cooks Just like home. But Don Pepe's has not let me down yet.Once again I highly recommend this restaurant when you're cruising through shafter it is right off of Central valley highway and Laredo highway.

This restaurant has had many incarnations throughout the years. It has recently been remodeled and looks so much cleaner than in the past. The decor is pretty and modern. They removed all of the booths have tables only. This must be very convenient for them when the need arrises to accommodate larger parties. They are very family friendly. They have little bud vases on the tables and cloth napkins. They also bring a standing purse Or baby bag holder, if you ask, to place next to your table. I've not seen this before and I think it's a helpful accommodation, especially because so many women carry enormous bags and you are always trying to figure out where to put them! There are a lot of nice touches. The service was okay today but nothing special. We ordered Cadillac Margaritas and the appetizer Fiesta plate. Both were tasty but not outstanding. I had to ask a second time for our Margaritas and they didn't arrive until after we had our food. The food and drinks are on the higher end for Mexican food. We paid $57 for 2 Margaritas and the appetizer. They have a full bar with TV's and what looks like a dance floor. There are lunch specials & Happy hour.

Service was slow. Me and my girl ordered menudo. We asked for extra hominy no Pata. And it took 20 minutes to get them mind you it was a slow night for a Saturday. We get our menudo there was no hominy at all and it had Pata which we specifically said no Pata. So they took our menudos and it took another another 20 minutes to get back. The waiter claim we didn't order extra hominy but we did. First time this had happened. Other people were waiting pretty long for their food as well.

Last week we went to this restaurant for one of our co-workers' farewell lunches. Never thought that that place would be so nice, clean and modernized. Doesn't look like all the other Mexican restaurants I had visited. We did not have to wait too long to get seated. They gave the menu to all of us and let us know that there was a buffet. Five of us decided to try the buffet and others ordered from the menu. Of course buffet was faster and I could see what I was eating without guessing. Tacos and tortillas were made right in front of us by the buffet bar. Nice, fresh, and hot. There was plenty of food at the buffet bar. I tried every one of them. All of item were so delicious. Since this is a lunch, we didn't get to have any liquor of course so I didn't get a chance to explore the bar on the other side of the restaurant. We asked for separate receipts for each of us and they happily did it for us. Oh, by the way, did I mention that We don't need to look for a parking spot? Parking spot right next to the building. Overall, I am glad that we decided to go there. I will be visiting again with my husband.
