Dollar General

Great local store here in Arvin. Love that a chain like this doesn't gouge the customer because they can in a small town. There's really nowhere else to get the General Store type merchandise for miles. They're very friendly here and always offer help. It's also open at 8 AM.

This Dollar General was well stocked and was clean! I came in here to get some Gatorade and it was very quick because it has self-check out! This one has a restroom which is really nice because the gas station next door doesn't. If you are picking up a few snacks before heading to the grapevine, this is a great stop!

Tell me why every time I go in to this store, only ONE cashier is available & they are always checking their phones, having their phones out etc. I mean aren't you at work? A work place where you must look professional??? Have some manners and attend your customers first & use your damn phone on lunch break! Sooo annoying and rude

It's a clean store and staff is always helpful. The restrooms are always clean too. It's well organized and easy to locate products

Let me start by saying this is a very convenient store for our small city, but it is also NEVER clean or stocked! I am here often because like I said, it is very convenient and it beats having to drive all the way to the Walmart in Bakersfield. The store is always a mess and the carts with items filled on it for re-stocking the shelves are ALWAYS in the way. I don't think there has ever been a time I've visited this store and there hasn't been less than 5 of those huge carts just sitting somewhere fully loaded with not a single employee in sight. They are always in the way and the aisle are so small that I automatically don't not even bother to grab a shopping cart when I come into the store because I know the stocking carts will be out on the floor and there is no way around them with a shopping cart. Which is actually bad for business because people tend to buy more things when they have a shopping cart they need to fill up. The employees are never helpful and the items are never price marked correctly. One time my husband and I asked to have a price changed because all of the same items that were the same as the item we were buying were placed in an incorrect stop with a different price tag. The associate told us "this would be the first and last time they would do this for us" as if she was getting US in trouble for THEIR mistake. The shelves are NEVER, I repeat, NEVER stocked. They have the items that we need but the are never on the shelves, they are either on the stocking carts or in the back. Not once, but TWICE we have asked if they have the items we are looking for and TWICE (two separate visits) an associate checked the back for us and told us this EXACT quote "it's back there but there's a bunch of stuff in the way." I, to this day, don't know how I kept my cool. Both times we left without the items we needed to purchase. Again it's a convenient store, but very poorly kept. I would recommend an entire new management team and sales associates give or take a couple because I have experienced a few good cashiers there from time to time. I really hope someone who can do something about these issues sees this post.
