I've been to Dewar's quite a few times, but why don't I remember the root beer floats literally floating? LOL The root beer float was yummy and made for a good laugh. Every time I come to Dewar's, I order vanilla ice cream in some form. This time as a float. It's simple yet delicious!Dewar's is a great spot to enjoy ice cream with friends. The iconic pink seats and the playful decor make it such a fun place. Service is swift and friendly too.

Dewar's original location is the best one in my opinion , such a nostalgic feel when you come in through the doors , you get a warm and cozy feeling especially during Christmas time. The ice cream is the best in town ,especially the strawberry in my opinion. If it's your first time I definitely recommend a two scoop sundae or banana split with marshmallow fluff and chopped almonds.

My mother is a native of Bakersfield and relocated decades ago. In town for a family event, we just had to visit Dewar's. Every single employee smiled and greeted us immediately. Jill was our server who was absolutely both patient and amazing. She answered our questions, made recommendations based on our likes and shared her favorites. The ice cream decision was so tough, but we landed on two Sundaes: butter finger, English toffee/pumpkin and eggnog with cold caramel and walnuts. Cold, sweet, creamy, all ofthe things! Gabryelle at the candy shop nearly had me purchasing all the pistachio chews...delicious! I loved the Dewar's "museum wall" chronicling the family's history in the candy business. Bakersfield is very fortunate to have such a "sweet experience" such as Dewar's. I understand my mom's childhood stories better now!

It's been a while since I've been to a soda fountain spot like this and I'm glad my girlfriend took me. I had to get my go to which is a chocolate chip cookie dough malt while she got the black and white with almonds on the top. The malt was so good and you get almost whole another malt left in the tin to take home if you don't finish it all! You gotta try their marshmallow fluff too, it was too bomb and you can even buy some that they jarred up from their little candy shop. I thoroughly loved this spot and will have to come back next time I'm out here. The ice cream was super good! It almost reminded me a bit like Blue Bell. My girl got me some chews too and these are must grab before you leave! Service was quick and everyone was super nice that was working even closer to when they were closing down shop for the night. I give this spot a 9/10. A must stop if you're ever in Bakersfield!

A Bakersfield Staple! And for good reason! My family and I stopped by this location on a Saturday evening. I was a bit worried that it was going to be super busy due to the time that we went. But we were seated promptly and our waiter Julio took care of us. He made sure to offer us samples of certain ice creams before making our decision which I very much appreciated. My wife and I both ordered a small sundae each, which was the perfect amount for us considering we both had just had dinner. Our ordered arrived in about 10 minutes. The ice was creamy frozen goodness! Perfect for any time of year. There was plenty of space indoor and outdoor to sit which included tables, booths and counter seating.
