Delight Massage

I paid $93 for a 90 minute massage. I asked the lady if she did deep tissue massages since it wasn't specified on the service menu. I'm not sure if she understood me or not because of the language barrier -- so if you have past injuries or specifications for your massage, I wouldn't recommend this place due to lack of communication and language. Luckily I didn't so I just told her I needed a deep tissue massage hoping she understood. To start, the table had a thin sheet I laid out to cover myself with. Usually places have another thicker sheet/blanket but oh well! I told myself it didn't matter. I'm pretty conservative mind you, so when she started whipping the sheet around and exposing me without consideration and bending my knees while exposing between my legs, I felt uncomfortable and couldn't relax the entire time. At one point, my entire back side was completely exposed and the sheet wasn't covering me. I was extremely uncomfortable with that. When I flipped over for her to do my front side, she accidentally exposed my breast. Again, I felt extremely uncomfortable even though she said "oops, sorry!" As for the massage itself, it felt unorganized and all over the place. Usually therapist will slow their way into it and work their way around. This lady was all over the places and wasn't smooth. I felt like her thumbs were poking me all over instead of doing a deep tissue. Some parts felt great, don't get me wrong, but she rubbed my triceps so hard with her thumbs I was bruised the next day. When I flipped over to have my front side done, she never worked on my traps, front shoulders, or chest. She spent all her time on my legs (which I couldn't care less about compared to my back, traps, and shoulders). Last thing, when I went to pay at the end of it, she was hovering over me to see if I was going to tip (I'm assuming). Normally people don't hover over you while you're tipping, it's awkward and kinda rude.Overall, I won't be going back. Maybe this is just a bad experience for me. Idk but most massage places are considerate while exposing only the necessary body part and being methodical with the massage.

I went here on a Friday afternoon to get a one hour massage. A Chinese lady took my money and led me to the back and put me in a room. The room had three walls and a heavy curtain for a wall on one side. The walls did not got to the ceiling. The massage therapist gave me a decent massage, but there were several things that were annoying about my hour here.What I did not like about this visit: There was a lot of noise, talking in Mandarin, talking in English, laughing, banging things around. Not conducive to relaxation. The sound traveled well with makeshift walls and gaps at the top. They wrap the sheet or towel like a rope and cram it up in your buttcrack. I was not coming here for a wedgie but I got one. I think it is free, no extra charge for that. The lady left the room for seven minutes total to get hot stones and hot towels. Where do they store supplies, over at Outback? The massage store is not in a large suite. The time was not added back at the end of the session. They need to make this place less noisy, stop it with the wedgie, then st op wasting time that costs the customer one dollar per minute. I do not think I will return. EDIT oh yea, they did not give me a cheap ass bottle of Kirkland water. What is up with that for $70??

The massage was good but I did not like how the therapist switch towards the end the male masseuse was very fast and seemed rushed. The lady was very good. And they require a 20% tip and do ask for it.

This place was the best massage place I've had in my life. The lady knows how to massage your entire body and she works hard throughout the whole hour. She kept checking if I was okay and controlled the strength. After the massage was done, my muscles were relaxed from tiring work. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone else.

Professional, good customer service. Patient and gentle with my physical limitations. Deep tissue massage helped my stiff neck a lot although at times I had to cry "uncle" from the pain. They accommodated me and still gVs me effective treatment.

Most of the time I've come here it was a decent massage, but it looks like management changed. Now they are bad. The lady I just had now for massage haggled hard over how much tip i should give. Someone should tell them tip is OPTIONAL and it's rude and unprofessional to haggle and beg over tips. She held my $20 bill hostage as i simply asked for $10 back. She first said "so hard, I'm very tired" and motions to want to keep the entire $20 bill. I then said "no, $10 back please". She then offers $5 back saying "so hard, very tired" and i say again "$10 please". She finally gives me $10, saying "so tired", to which i say, "next time I'll ask for a guy" which I doubt she understood due to language barrier. I should've taken the whole $20 back. I'm not that muscular a guy even, 5'10", 175.The massage wasn't even that good, actually quite bad. I had to remind her to get my lower back. She didn't seem to have any tactile sense, just digging in her elbows anywhere in my back, thinking harder means better. Her nails were rough and she literally was just scratching my hair as part of the massage. Thinking of all the other heads of hair she had scratched with those same rough fingernails and gunk underneath them is kind of gross. I think this is the same lady mentioned in previous reviews with rough sharp nails because at one point i thought she drew blood when her nails scratched my ear as she was massaging them. Also, she has such poor awareness of body mechanics she sprained my thumb as she was using it to pull my arm for a stretch. You don't use a thumb to pull an entire arm.Basically, don't come here. Bad massage and they haggle you for tips.

I've been coming here for many years. Back when Susan was always there it was the best place in town. Ever since she left the massages have gotten worse and worse each time I go. And they've begun the typical "You tip more?!?" garbage that you run into at low quality places. So it looks like it's time to part ways with Delight Massage and look for a new place.

The masseuse nails hurt me, felt long, and I've never felt any roughness from fingers, almost callus like thumbs that I experienced today. My neck felt like it was being exfoliated. No awareness of her nails from the employee beforehand? Lack of preparation to give massages? Felt unprofessional. **please practice and train employees on upkeeping hygiene** Anyways I had to tell her to stop massaging a few times and to be gentle because of how painful the massage was feeling. It was a hard decision to stop all together since I was in desperate need of a massage and my first time here was pleasant. I was explaining my neck pain, how the massage felt good at one point because of how tense I was feeling the night prior, having experienced inability to sleep due to the pain, thanking the masseuse for focusing on the area I was requesting. She called an older lady that spoke on her behalf when I walked in, who also kept repeating "1 hour" when I was requesting 30 min, and they were talking in their language, giggling, and I asked if everything was ok. The masseuse seemed to not understand or speak English, so the older lady just made sure I was okay, I repeated myself, but she seemed to not understand me either. She left and the masseuse continued. I tried to explain my neck pain and ask her to focus on a certain area.... No response. I then asked her 3x if she spoke or knows English, but it was dead silent. Almost like talking to a wall. Super awkward and just also felt bad for her inability to not speak English? How is she to communicate with customers? Was I being purposely ignored? Will never know. She was nice and offered me we bottle of water afterwards, but I wanted to get out ASAP.My first experience was nothing but pleasant. This time around I felt disgusted and quickly went home to shower and disinfect my shoulders and whole back. I was still in pain and could feel my irritated skin slightly burn the whole 15 min drive home.

They have a unique and professional techniques that most other places lack. Very nice and polite as well. I honestly don't see this kind of service in many Chinese businesses. Andy was my masseur. I'm impressed and definitely will come back. I hope I'll have the same good experience next times.

I live out of the area but wanted a massage for the night that I would be in Bakersfield. I was able to see Summer for a one hour Swedish Massage. She gave me exactly the kind of relaxing, legitimate, and nurturing treatment that I was hoping for. I will certain return here next time I am traveling through town.
