Absolutely amazing experience! Welcoming environment and my kids had a great time playing with all the toys. Plenty of toys for all ages! Reasonable prices and great variety!

This hidden treasure of a toy store is just the most cutest, warmest, nostalgic place. If you're in the area and have kids/ grandkids this the place to take them to pick a toy out. Or two. Forget shopping for a gift at Walmart. This store should be ur first pick to go to for children's gifts.

Great store! The staff was super nice and welcoming. Was able to find a toy that I have been looking for for years. Felt like a kid walking around. Will definitely come back for some other toys that I have my eye on. Definitely would recommend for great quality toys.

This is a great toy store in Tehachapi. The owners are the nicest couple. They retired and moved here from Ojai. About 8 years ago this incredible mom and pop business opened up. My son was 2 at the time and loved going in to see all the cool toys and books. They don't carry the things that Walmart and K-Mart carry. So it was always fun to see what new stuff would be in the store. They are always changing it up. They also change the decor with the different seasons and holidays. I love the book nook they have you can go sit in there and read the most adorable books. My son loved it, we always came out of there with great books and games. This was my go to place for gifts or gift certificates. Makes me sad my son is older and doesn't play with toys. I still like to go in and look around and visit with the owners. If you get a chance to stop by I am sure you will find some great items. Xmas is almost here, awesome stocking stuffers and gifts galore.

This is a great toy store! There is a good selection of toys for a variety of ages; it's so nice to be able to go into a physical toy store now a days. The owner is also very nice and friendly; it's a very welcoming environment. I love this place and make it a point to take my toddler for a visit every time I'm in town.

I was driving home toward Las Vegas from Berkeley when I decided to look at the town of Tehachapi. It was a beautiful day and I drove around the historic district and saw some of the area. As I was heading back toward the freeway, I turned and saw this adorable shop. I was immediately thrilled by the variety of wonderful toys you don't see everywhere, but even more enchanted by Darlene and her husband.If you have read my opinions on customer service,you know I really appreciate business owners who recognize that you chose their shop and they welcome the visitor.I have 4 grandchildren: 5, 4, 2 and 7 months. I located cooking utensils and a book about yoga for the eldest, an adorable book called "How to Surprise a Dad", for the 4 year old, a wooden train car for the 2 year old with a book about animals, and peek- a-boo board books for the baby. There were also special holiday goggles for seeing gingerbread men and snowmen when looking at holiday lights.I got little items which send twinkling lights up to the bedroom ceiling. Yes I got some!What I really love here is the supply of old school toys like tin telescopes, waddling ducks, cars, kaleidoscopes, etc. Of course I got telescopes for the older cousins.I found juggling balls for my Navy sailor on an aircraft carrier, too.The store is chock full of amazing toys and I am already planning to come back and see what further trouble I can get into!!I am so excited to have found a small business to love for toys. Be sure to check it out!

So nice to find good old fashioned toys. Reminded me of my childhood toys:Jacks, pick up sticks(when available), rubber band ammo for wooden guns, etc. just enjoyed browsing through this quaint store. We're visiting from Hawaii, seeking kites for our grandchildren. Walmart didn't have any. Big 5 referred us to Darlene's. What a great find! Anyone would love this place! Give them a visit & enjoy a simpler time.

This is a great store. There's always a big selection pick from. It's always one of my go to places for present shopping.
