I was apprehensive after reading all of the negative reviews but after visiting it was the best optometrist experience I've had. Dr. Mallory is very knowledgeable and professional while also creating a friendly atmosphere. My appointment was done in a timely manner and all of the staff was amazing. It's sad to hear that even though there are very few patients waiting in the lobby for appointments... the online reviews for this ophthalmologist are overwhelmingly negative... even over the course of many years. One has to wonder: how could things get so bad? It's not that the OD's care is at question... but the office response to cancelled appointments and extreme delays in delivering new glasses, contacts, etc. leaves far too many patients without the care they deserve... and the eye care improvements they require.

Horrible horrible horrible. The staff is horrible. I ordered contacts 12/21/2021 and it's now 02/14/22 I call and call with NO answers. I don't live in town so I can't stop in. When they do answer all they say is that they'll call me back and they never do. I had to have my grandmother go in and they still didn't have an answer and just said they'll give me a call but didn't... shocker.... I am so beyond frustrated with how unprofessional the staff is. It has almost been TWO months since I've ordered my contacts and a new pair of glasses with no updates. Once I receive my contacts and new glasses I will not be going here again. The Dr himself is very respectable though. Would recommend with caution.

Dr. Mallory is the greatest. I have every faith in him. years ago at my first visit his nurse took my blood pressure and it was very high. until then I did not know I had high blood pressure. it is thanks to him and his wonderful office staff that I have been treated for high blood pressure. and now he is responsible for my having cataract surgery in a few weeks. I will keep my eyesight thanks to Dr. Mallory

Terrible experience with Dr Mallory. He was rude and condescending to not only me as a patient but to his staff as well. I went there for a new RX for new glasses. I then ordered glasses using the updated RX that Dr Mallory prescribed . When I picked them up I immediately knew they weren't correct but he told me I " just needed to get used to them". They caused severe headaches. I returned them and he gave me a new exam with a new RX and glasses were remade. Still not correct RX. I informed the office and made an appointment for 930am. I waited in the exam room 35min, no Dr Mallory. He saw me come in and no other patients were there and still he made me wait. The office staff were great.

I went to Dr. Mallory to get seen with my daughter. As he gave my daughter her eye exam, he was not giving her clear directions. I stayed quiet as to not interrupt the doctor, and finally I could tell how confused she was and I reiterated the instructions in a way I knew she could understand. He then turned And said "Mom. Hush." . Okay, so I stayed quiet. Then it was my turn. He had asked the assistant to put my contacts into my eyes, apparently this is what he expects of his staff. that's fine. the contact was bothering me. I told him. He took it out replaced it and it was fine for a few minutes but then continued to bother me. He did an exam and said it's because of my astigmatisms and the contact was in my eye incorrectly. I told him it was bothering me. As he walked out, he scolded his staff for putting it in my eye wrong. How could he know? He was rude to his staff, rude to me, did not listen to my concerns. will never go back.

Haven't been a patient here because everyone of my friends has told me to avoid this office. However, I heard they might be hiring so I called to see if that was true. I was on hold forever, and it was saying I was number one in line. But I didn't get an answer. I called later and finally got to talk to the receptionist. I was very nice and asked if they were hiring. I kid you not, she gave me the bitchiest "no" I have ever heard. That's all she said. So rude. One of the jobs of a receptionist is to be welcoming and helpful. Answering questions with one word and a bitchy tone is not one of them. I don't want to work there anyway now because I wouldn't want to work with someone who thinks it's appropriate to talk to anyone like that.

This office is absolutely awful. I saw the Dr a year ago for glasses and I didn't have the best impression or experience but decided I'd give them another try because we all have "bad or off days" I scheduled my apt a few weeks ago and about a week later got called to tell me that they messed up and have to move my apt from the 17th to the 18th because the Dr wasn't going to be in on the 17th . I received text messages confirming my apt for the 18th and replied yes and 2 hours before 3p I received a message stating my apt was for today the 17th. I called office to confirm and spoke with a girl who was extremely rude and refused to give me her name. She stated that their system is unable to stop sending text messages when you cancel and re-make an appointment, so they always tell people to disregard the message. I explained to her that I never canceled it and that it was the office that did and then I also told her I was never informed of that. She then became even more defensive, and she actually hung up on me. I decided to still go to my appointment since I feel it is very unprofessional to cancel the appointment same day. When I arrived to the office, I was not greeted, I was snarled at ! I asked for the girls name, she stated that there was no reason for me to know her name. At that ppoint I was over it and the Dr or office doesn't deserve my business. I guess this is the reason why you can get an appointment within less than a month and why all the other optometrists in town are booked out for months or aren't taking new patients. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME with this office.

I am going to start off by saying I would have never gone to Dr Mallory's if it weren't for my 11 year old son not being able to find a pair of glasses anywhere else in town! I used to see Dr Opatowsky we had our first appt in Lancaster and I was told we could then see him here in Ridgecrest we'll that was false, my son continued to see him for 2 more years all appts in Lancaster until their entire staff and the incompetents finally got to me. They screwed up my sons glasses every time we went in and charged me for visits even though I had really good insurance and should not have been charged. But back to my review about Dr Mallory's, my son has strabismus I can't just order his glasses online he has to be measured. We went into Dr Mallory's almost two months ago, my son found a pair he liked $700 later we go home. 3 weeks later his glasses fall and the frame and lenses are scratched we have a lens warranty and get new lenses put in we don't change the frames but not even a week later, our fault the frame becomes completely broken. I call and they said I have a frame warranty so I pay $230 to get a new frame. We have them a week and my son goes to put them into the case because we are swimming and the frame arm snaps right off. I call the office, I'm told they can't do anything and I'll have to buy a whole new set $700 the lady also said it sounds like your son is hard on glasses. I have never had this issue before he has never broken his glasses before! I asked what the warranty was for and why he could not get them fixed I was transferred to the office manager and she did not answer, I left a voice mail and guess what no one ever called me back. I called again all day Tuesday and nothing all day today Wednesday and I finally decided I would go into the office and oh wow, she's busy on the phone. I told them I would come back but I did not want to come back with my son because I did not want him to see how upset I was about it all. I just called them again leaving them a message to contact me asap! I guarantee they won't call back but I will be going back down there to have an actual conversation with them when I get time from being a mom and working full time!! What is the warranty on dr Mallory's glasses and why did I pay almost $1000 to now have glasses my son can't even wear. Thanks guys! We definitely took our business elsewhere and I will never be back at that office. Oh and the office staff is horrible they do not care about the customers at all!!!!!
