A hidden gem! I went in, specifically looking for New York strip, and got two of the most beautiful NYS steaks I have ever seen. I didn't take any photos of them before, but please take my word for it. The guys are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and did a nice job of upselling me on compound butter after I told them I was planning to make my own. And as always, USDA, prime meat can be pricey, but it's so worth it. (Pic is of my finished steaks resting)

So we went based on all the good reviews and pretty much have found our now go to spot for meats! Tucked away in the back of a gas station on Fruitvale & Norris is a hidden gem. I have been a customer for over 20 years and will be for the rest of my life. This place is owned and operated by two two brothers Tyson & Jaren. At one point I lived less than 200 yards from here and would be buying meat at least 2-3 times a week. I have since moved to the complete opposite end of town and don't get there nearly as often as I should. Somehow I get almost giddy when going in and have been so focused on my upcoming meal that I have completely forgotten to leave a review. Shame on me!!! If your a fan of high quality meat this is a must go kind of butcher shop! For years they carried Harris Ranch (and still do) before a lot of the major chains picked them up. They now also carry Snake River Farms (look them up) one of the elite cattle breeders in the world. I guarantee you cannot find a better cut of beef anywhere in Bakersfield! The brothers are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. They will ask you how many people you intend to feed to ensure no one gets left out of the meal you are preparing to serve. They will ask you what method you intend to cook with and provide instruction whether it's grill, smoke, bake or fry. They will even write the instructions down for you. The meat selection is great with options like Cordon Bleu, stuffed Tri-tips, Fajitas, and much more! The selection of sausages is unmatched. Tip: the Apple sausage is incredible and if it wasn't for the texture you would sware you are eating apple pie! Some things to consider on your first trip are the Killer Griller, Blue cheese stuffed Tri-Tip, and of course the Apple Sausage. I could go on forever, if you haven't been here do yourself and your family a favor and go. They will thank you for it and ask you why you have not served this before!

Not open during posted business hours. Went at 12:00PM on a Wednesday. Supposed to be open at 11:00AM. Not open. Wasted trip. Wasted lunch hour.

Was very disappointed with this place. I've heard a lot of good things about this store. However, yesterday I asked my fiancé to get there and purchase some meat after his job. He bought two pork chops (16$) and two chicken breasts (11$). He isn't that good at grocery shopping, however, this place had an amazing reviews, that gave me a trust. When I opened pork chops today, I was shocked. The meat not only had areas with the brownish color, but also smelled terrible and was slimy. Didn't opened the chicken breasts yet, but I'm already very sad. Don't understand how people may sell something like this to others, especially meat? Maybe it's the good place, according to people's reviews, just be careful and look what they are selling to you!

This meat shop is hands down the best in town. The price is average to above average but you get what you pay for. A+ Don't waste your time go check it out.!

A friend of mine sent me here to buy Tri tip. This place was not on a side of town I frequent. I was skeptical from the beginning. Once in the place, I was warmly welcomed like they knew I was coming! I told them I needed 4 Tri tip, and was told I should buy a package of six. The service was phenomenal! They vacuum packed the Tri tip I was freezing AND carried it out to my car!!! I'm a vegetarian but I will be back to purchase and cook for friends and family!!!Thank you!

Love this shop and the people who work there. They are thoughtful, helpful and generous above and beyond. And their meat is superior to anything you get at a grocery store. Try them . You'll thank me later.

The best cuts of meat ANYWHERE! We have tried several butcher shops in town but we always come back to Cutting Edge Specialty Meat Shop. The best customer service and the best cuts of meat in town!

My go to butcher shop starting with outstanding customer service and following with delicious prime or Wagyu meat options. They have a variety of sausages they make onsite. Also, they have stuffed chicken or pork chops to die for! Don't forget the kabobs! The killer griller is legendary! Order early at the holidays and don't be afraid to special order if not a holiday. Tyson and Jarren are the very best! I highly recommend.
