This place is shabby, but clean. The staff are friendly and hardworking. The breakfast is, honestly, one of the better ones I've seen in my travels, including sausage, waffles, toast, potatoes, juices, coffees, cereals, and eggs (powdered). I have never seen a hotel so dedicated to accommodating the disabled! This place includes amazing showering facilities as well as a lift chair for disabled guests to enjoy the hot tub.

I give this place five stars not because it is the nicest or best place I have ever stayed but rather it is certainly one of the best stays I've had in a cost efficient hotel. Short version: it's inexpensive, clean, safe, and staffed with helpful people. For the long version, read on:I've been to this Country Inn & Suites several times for business. It is located right off Highway 99, which makes it very convenient. I initially chose this local based on the economy pricing and location to my business destination. (Anyone needing to appear at the Lamont Courthouse in the morning, this is a great option). The hotel offers a late checkout (noon), which makes it possible to drive down to Weed Patch, where the courthouse is really located, make my appearance for my client, come back to the hotel and leisurely pack-up and head home. (I hate rushing because the cleaning staff is waiting at the door expectantly, which is not a problem here.)While the neighborhood might seem questionable to some, this Country Inn has a secured parking area with the gate in view of the front desk. As noted, I've stayed here often enough to feel more comfortable about the safety and security of my vehicle. Nonetheless, I still make sure I have my valuables and essentials, e.g., my work computer, with me in the room, which I do regardless of where I am staying. Apropos security, the overall security of the building is satisfactory. A few cameras outside to monitor the vehicles and locked side and back entrances that the staff checks regularly to make sure they are secure. A free breakfast buffet is offered to the guests. It has your standard hotel breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausages and/or bacon, cereal, ready to cook waffles in the waffle iron, and juices.Country Inn & Suites does not put on any pretenses. This is a very clean and safe place to stay with very helpful and courteous staff. They assist when I need to print out motions for court, honor my request to be in one of the a quieter rooms, even give me flatware for those "dinners" while working late into night /early morning. Thank you Country Inn & Suites. I'll see you the next time I have a hearing at the Lamont (Weed Patch) Courthouse.

STAY AWAY! ROACH PROBLEM. I'm upset and disgusted. So many roaches. I couldn't wait to get the heck out of there. We had to do a thorough inspection of our things to ensure we weren't taking any stowaways back home with us. I reported it to the front desk, and the young lady said she'd let management know, but she didn't appear surprised, so it must be a known problem. The room seemed clean, so I don't know why there were so many roaches. We travel and have stayed in many hotels and I've never seen anything like this. That aside, we had a suite, and there was only the tiniest closet space squeezed beside the fridge, and the air didn't reach the living area. I couldn't find where to hang a towel or clothes. There was no towel bar and only one hook behind the bathroom door. The halls and room had a stagnant smell, but it wasn't overwhelming. I frequently saw the cleaning person in the hall cleaning rooms. It looked like they were trying to keep the place clean. At first glance, everything seemed fine for our needs, but it became a disgusting nightmare. Regular pest control may help resolve the problem.

We stayed here for 4 days for business and we had a pleasant time. They offer continental breakfast from 6-9am daily and the pool is open from 6am-12am. Staff was okay, but our favorite was Rose. She was accommodating and friendly. She made sure none of our things got stolen from the pool (haha). She even offered to change our room when I called to say our tv wasn't working. She was always in the front desk unlike the other front desk people.Dining staff was eh...they ran out of milk the first morning we were there so we had to eat our cereal without milk. They even put the bagels out super late. The only time the food changed was this Friday in which they had bacon instead of sausage. Breakfast pretty much stayed the same all 4 days we were there..they didn't switch it up unlike the other Country Inns we have previously stayed at in different locations in Central Cali.We would definitely stay here again whenever we have business in Bakersfield. Guests were friendly. It's an okay spot next to the freeway and I like that the dollar tree is next door whenever you run out of things you need. I give them a 3 because the rooms were a bit outdated from the paint job and the couches/chairs were a bit outdated and dirty as well, however the aesthetics were good. Also 3 stars because the signal in our room (222) sucked. Tv didn't work most of the time, but that was okay because we stayed here for work. Everything else was fine. They also offer complimentary oatmeal/chocolate cookies all day everyday (you gotta get them when they take them out of the oven otherwise they get hard just sitting out) Thank you Country Inn for having us !

This place is horrendous!! I had a reservation, they said oh it must not have went through. It was for a "Spa Room". Sorry, I can put you in another room. We are Diamond Elite members!! This should not be a choice hotel. There was one employee on a Saturday night to take care of customers, tend bar and take care of the numerous complaints!! They first put me in a "Meeting Room" ~ it had roll away beds (are you serious". Then they moved me. There is no thermostat and the unit is above the refrigerator. I had to get a chair and stand on it to work the unit. I gave stayed here before, I asked what is going on? They said it is under "New Ownership". Choice hotels, you need to get this hotel out of your name!! The rooms is dirty and stinks!! I felt so sorry for the guy at the front counter, he was the only good thing about this place!!

Gross, gross, gross!1st, in my reservation I asked that both rooms be close to each other, and I called the night before to check if bother rooms were next to each other and the front desk personnel said they were. When I arrived the rooms were not close to each other and were on separate floors.2nd we booked this hotel because there was a pool and the pool was not in service. It was 100 degrees in Bakersfield, so having the pool available would have been nice, especially if it is included in the price you are paying.3rd the bed sheets had blood on them, which we were very shocked to see!!4th the room smelled so musty and gross, and the sofa bed mattress was stained and disgusting.I emailed the general manager for some sort of refund and they never got back to me!

On first glance when I walked into the lobby and by the exterior of the hotel, I was impressed. The staff in the front desk was very nice and the pool is open until midnight. There are also complimentary cookies in the lobby. The room rate was more expensive in person than on the website but I decided to pay the difference. Once I got to the hallway I immediately realized that the nice lobby is just a facade for a rundown and poorly kept hotel. The hallway is disgusting and poorly lit. The carpets smell horribly and are stained. The room looks clean but once you start paying attention it's disgusting too, the curtains in my room are stained with blood and the couches, cushions and chairs are old, beat up and stained. The worst part so far though is the massive spider that was crawling on my wall next to the bed. The people a few rooms down were also complaining of the smell coming from their room. I am a member of Choice Hotels and I try to always stay at Comfort Inn unfortunately they were sold out. The room is too expensive for what you get. You could get something better and actually clean for the same price or a little bit more expensive at a different hotel chain. So disappointed.
