Contemporary Catering did a FANTASTIC job and exceeded our expectations for our wedding in Malibu last weekend. Greg Waits was wonderful to work with, and extremely friendly and laid back. The staff ran the event smoothly and everything from the presentation, timing, temperature, and quality of each dish was on point. I am so used to wedding food being mediocre that I found myself with low expectations sort of out of habit, but we got SO MANY compliments and rave reviews on the food. In particular, the salmon was wonderful as was the steak, and people loved the cheesecake dessert. The appetizers were also wonderful. They also provided bartenders who did a fabulous job keeping everyone happy, and servers who went around to tables with wine. I can't recommend them highly enough, they are well worth every penny.

Contemporary Catering is so much more than you might think. The people behind this business understand that there is something precious and special at stake in every event. This care and dedication is felt in every step of their process from the beginning to the very end. Nace and Rachel are exceptional and the team they build matches that sense of integrity. We are forever grateful for the special touches they added to make our day feel personalized to us. In addition to their exceptional service the food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The Contemporary Catering Team was perfect for my wedding. They were extremely helpful and solution solvers! I appreciate everything and the food was fantastic. They pulled off everything that we wanted and more!

I do not recommend this catering service. It is overpriced for what it is offering and the food I recieved at a palm springs event is a joke. I later talked to the organizer of the event Patrick who was also upset. The cheeseburger sliders were cold, and the rest of the food was generic and bland. I would settle for a better company for the price you are charged, Wolfgang puck easily hands down 100 times BETTER. But you get what you pay for, mediocre service and a short list of food sampling.

Contemporary Catering, Nathaniel and his staff, did my daughter's wedding last weekend. The food was AMAZING! I've been to so many weddings where the food is mediocre at best and all our guests raved about the food! From the cocktail hour with charcuterie and the fabulous seafood bar to the passed hors d'oeuvres of short rib sliders, ahi wonton tacos, wild mushroom flatbread and the three meat marinara meatballs then on to the meal of grilled peach and arugula salad, a pasta station with four sauces (the bolognese was out of this world!), the seabass and filet mignon stations...everything was amazing. His staff was professional and very attentive. I spoke with Nathaniel about the food after the food tasting prior to the wedding and he is a well-versed and seasoned chef that prides himself on local, organic, high quality food. And, it showed! I can't express in words all of the positive comments from our guest. Contemporary Catering absolutely made the wedding special. People always remember the bride, the food and the party! I'm still getting texts and emails a week later about how great everything was and one person even asked if they could get a recipe! LOLThis was at an outdoor venue where we had to rent all the kitchen equipment. So being able to prepare this outstanding meal in an outdoor kitchen was truly amazing. We did have a minor issue with some bartenders but Nathaniel handled the situation professionally and made sure everything was taken care of. His is clearly a man and business owner of integrity, professionalism and ensuring the best possible customer experience with the best quality food he can provide. We consider ourselves to be big foodies. So picking a food vendor for our wedding seemed like an impossible task. Contemporary blew us away with every plate they selected for us. Stephanie and Andrew were super helpful and precise with taking care of everything from the tasting to what was needed the day of. We went with the buffet and it was great to have so many different options that all tasted amazing! We had multiple guests come up and tell us this was the best food they've had at a wedding.

Wouldn't recommend. This company has some of the worst food I've tasted, the food was dry and the drinks were limited. I was at a venue last year during July 2022, and I have to say that the food was horrible. I didn't want to complain because I already heard the owner screaming in the back at his chefs but I would avoid and go reliable for catering. Either go W.P. (if you have the extra money to do so) or maybe Bite.*Be aware that the owner seems to have a fragile ego and is taking down negative reviews, the only "good" reviews are from 2017-2019. I only reposted this review because I noticed that one of their locations were shutting down and wanted to see if they were still in business. Turns out that they are, but for how much longer with their quality, who knows? Hopefully they close sooner rather than later, many other catering companies are worth it especially in L.A. as I have said previously.

I cannot share enough accolades for Contemporary Catering. As a corporate event producer, I have used many caterers over time but for me, no other company compares. From planning to execution, everything was precisely delivered as planned and the team really went above and beyond my expectations. Stephanie was highly organized and delivered everything right on time with calm, focus and a smile on her face. Her attention to every detail took the stress off me at our event and I was able to enjoy our guests and relax knowing our event was in the best hands! The staff was incredibly generous, well trained, and thoughtful. The food was bountiful, beautifully presented, and I never had to worry about running out, even with the extra guests that showed up. I commend Nace and his team, because it is rare to find someone as passionate about the food as he is about service. He is a consummate professional who knows exactly what I need before I do, and jumps in to help wherever needed. I cannot be more grateful for finding a caterer I can trust with my most important clients and for always providing them a five-star experience. I am a raving fan of Contemporary Catering.
