Civic Dance Center

If you are looking for a dance studio in Kern county, I highly recommend Civic Dance studio! My daughter has been coming here for 3 years now and we have really enjoyed seeing her progress as a dancer, as well as see her up on stage in those adorable costumes each year ;)They hold the dancers to high standard with a firm, but gentle hand. Each class has a head teacher with 1 to 2 student assistants. They are very focused on teaching each dancer the fundamentals and helping to mold them into the best possible dancer they can be. At the end of the year they put on a gala where you get to see all their hard work pay off! Check them out, you won't be disappointed!

I love this dance studio! The teachers are wonderful and truly care for their students. They are very professional in every way and teach the students about professionalism and respect of one another. We were at a different studio before here and it was risqué and the dances were not what little girls should be dancing. Here they care about how the students look and how the studio looks teaching them those moves. Absolutely love Civic!

To the woman that I had a discussion with regarding parking. Short grey hair. 50+ in age. I understand you may have a long standing issue with the Brimhall storage regarding parking. I'm sorry that my actions caused further issue. However I do not deserve the attitude in which the issue was approached. I was not associated with the storage center, my husband was driving my mothers car to get gas in an unfamiliar area. We are in town due to my grandmother's death. Since it was 8:30am and no cars were in this lot but the gas station was full and there were u hauls on the side of the road- my risk vs gain analysis concluded the parking spot which I resides were the safest for myself and my unborn child. Owning a business myself I understand your frustration, however as an individual I did not deserve the attitude nor the name calling that I was immediately greeted with. If approached amicably, I would have been more than complicit and apologized. Please purchase proper signage to prevent this issue in the future.

A great place for all ages. If your passionate about dance this is the place to go & hone your craft! The staff is wonderful and their productions... memorable.

I almost can't believe that nobody has posted a review! This is the best ballet studio in Bakersfield, IMO. The only reason that I don't give them a 5 star is that it isn't run extremely well. For one, no CC payment, would be so much easier to pay online. I have to dust off my checkbook to pay. They don't even have a website so if I need to do a makeup class i have to call (but they never answer the phone) or stop by and pick up a printed schedule. Secondly, I feel as though they are always yelling at you with their written communications. I am about to offer to redo any written communication that they send home. (Think every 3rd word italicized, bold, underlined and in different font). Bottom line, if you want your child to become a ballerina in Bako, this is your place.
