Choice Cut

I love this carniceria. Since it's my cousin's go-to meat market, I've been here with her several times now.Because she comes here all the time, and because the owner already knows her order, we are usually in and out in under two minutes. Meaning, I never get enough time to explore. Walking in to the shop, the very first thing one notices is how clean it is, which is obviously a great start. Next, my eyes are drawn to a long line of brightly colored salsas, which look mouth-watering.Moving towards the meat, which is in the back of the store, one passes through small but skillfully sourced aisles of produce and Mexican staples such as mole, various forms of tortillas, Mexican hot chocolate, a deep freezer full of La Michoacana paletas, and so much more. (I am proud of the fact that, during my most recent trip to Bakersfield, I got my cousin's kids hooked on La Michoacana mangonada flavored bars. They're an excellent fat-free alternative to ice cream.) In the front of the store are three fridges full of beverages, including bottled Mexican soft drinks produced with cane sugar. Along with everything I've already mentioned, the meat is fire. It's always perfectly seasoned and/or marinated, and comes out delicious no matter which one of us cooks it. All of our experiences with this shop have been positive, and I definitely recommend giving them a try if you're in town.

Love this place! It's so convenient and the staff is extremely friendly. They've got tons of meat choices even goat and some marinated meats for easy cooking. We love their salsas and guacamole. They've also got a small amount of veggies and canned goods. We go here often to not only support local but because it is so convenient and the staff is so great!

This place is awesome! Great meat! I will always support my local butcher over a chain!

Stopped by today to check out this meat market. I had driven by it many times and had been meaning to stop in. I wanted to buy a couple racks of spare ribs. I went inside and it looked like a decent little meat market. I always expect the prices at these places to be higher than major stores. Usually I don't mind paying more if the service or quality of the meat is good. I asked the guy who helped me if he could trim the racks of ribs -St Louis Style. Cut off the tips, square em up, etc. Butchers know what this means. He gave me a weird look and stated thats not something they usually do.I wanted the ribs so I just decided to buy them anyway and trim them myself when I get home. The total for two racks of spare ribs was $39.61. The same guy walked over and rang me up at the register. I asked him if they cut their own meat. I was assuming they did but I figured I'd ask based on his weird answer to my other question. He said yes they do. Very high prices and if they don't offer any additional service like cutting them for you then its a rip off. Plus the guy had a piss poor attitude. I WILL NOT BE BACK TO THIS PLACE AND I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Love them and so glad they're near my place. Highly recommend going here for all your meat purchases. They also have very fresh produce. Their avocados are the best (a little pricier than the grocery store but so worth it when you taste the difference). Oh and the homemade salsa is delicious!!! Love everything about the place. Lastly, the people there are friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. They do customer service the right way!! Thank you!

Really solid place. Glad to have found Choice Cut. They have a really big selection and all the fixings you'll need. Bonus, they have tri-tip sandwich's $8, filling portion (tasted delicious), chicken, rib, and hot links. Hope they have the deep pit in soon. Solid business, very professionals staff. Great experienceI don't rate it I don't like.

I pick up marinated taco meat from this place every time I have a party. There is always someone telling me how much they liked the flavors of the meat. I also ordered thinly sliced chicken recently and you do have to place that order a day ahead. That went well. The people that work there are always nice and friendly

Very friendly service, great meat quality. It looks like a liquor store from the outside but dont let it fool ya. Price is about right for quality meats. Selection is kinda small but putting this lil spot in the rotation

I just needed salsa to compliment pulled pork tacos we made at home.I found this little meat shop close enough to my house for a quick drive to get salsa.All the fresh salsa were amazing!It complimented the tacos.Chicharrones tasted fresh as well.Cannot wait to try meat and weekend bbq!
