I've used this clinic for many years. They've always treated my animals with compassion and have been reasonable with costs. I'm very surprised by some of the previous reviews as we've always had a pleasant experience. The Doc is awesome and very pleasant to talk to. Highly recommend.We Just dropped Molly off for the workup. The other vet in town did a botch job on her teeth so we are here just a month later getting the job done right. We were seen on time (by appointment) and the staff are very friendly and caring for my pet. We were told to pick her up around 1600-1630 unless they call.We showed up at 1620 and she was ready to go.. a little groggy still but she was excited to go home. They got us rang up and it was a lot cheaper than expected. They gave us a bag of meds and showed us the teeth that had been extracted. They also provided the new tag for her vaccinations.We have made appointments for our other pets and have stopped using the other vet in town. If we have an after hours emergency we will travel to Bakersfield.There is plenty of free parking in the large parking lot.

Kind, Affordable, Accurate: Proving an excellent service to our community. I recently took my cat in to Dr. Tom (Jenkins) at Canyon Veterinary for a UTI. I as a cat-mom had made many mistakes in trying to care for my cat before I got him to the vet. Dr. Tom was compassionate. He didn't lecture me. He didn't make me feel bad. He educated me. He was kind. Dr. Tom didn't insist on a bunch of costly tests. He could have easily inflated the cost of examination and treatment, but did not. He treated my cat with shots, IV fluids, and a prescription medication. The cost for these services was shockingly low!!! My cat was feeling better within hours and he's back to his old self. Also, notably, front office staff/vet techs are nice gals and helpful. If you do go, expect excellent care but a bit of a wait. I don't mind the wait. It means your pet gets quality time with the doc and speaks to a bustling practice of happy customers.

I don't know what to say. The office staff is amazing. They fit me in for a same day appointment to get my dog put down. They were kind. The vet however has zero bedside manner. None. I know he's old and done this a thousand times but it should matter! He treated her so roughly. Grabbed her by the neck and laid her down like she was already dead. He had to give her two shots to do the job because he can't see and he's so shaky which was hard on her and us. Then he continually poked her in the eye to see if she was gone. It was torture. He absolutely is not physically or emotionally capable of providing care. I would never go back. Please don't take your loved one here.

We called to verify that they were open and that the vet was in. 3x's in one week we were told "yes, and to be there at 9am sharp". All 3x's the vet was NOT going to be in that day. We live in inyokern and our dogs belly is swollen like a balloon, which is extremely scary. Hard to breath now and getting worse daily. I fear that we will lose our beloved angel which really sucks. Cant afford to keep making trips for no reason and stressing the dog any more than its already doing each breath just to be told that they are sorry but the vet isnt in today. ( not to mention the vet was already scheduled to NOT be there the other 2 days, which is normal for a week at the business) Im at my wits end now, dont know what to do, and feeling more overwhelmed than my pet is, to be honest. I would NOT recomme d taking ur pet here unless u are 100% positive that ur loved ones condition is one with time to spare. Unfortunately, ours doesnt have that luxury. Beat of luck to u all, and please, love ur pets each day, even if just 50% as much, as the way they love you! If u do then all will be well. Take care my friends

I took my puppy in for his series of four preliminary shots (Parvo, rabies, etc). When I came in for the fourth and last shot, however, the vet tech brought in the third shot again instead of the correct fourth one in the series. I caught the mistake in time, however, and was able to get the correct injection in the series administered.I had no problem with the vet and how the shots were administered, but I'm leery now about how his office is run.

Hello. I'm. ot one to leave reviews on anything because sometimes I understand things happen. Today though is a different story. I recently adopted 3 puppies and needed to set up their new patient appointments. I normally go to VCA but they didn't have any immediate appointments so I thought I'd give this vet a try. Worst mistake ever. I had scheduled this appointment weeks ago. Take off of work early since my appointment was at 3 only to find out they are closed because of Good Friday. I recieved no call saying they were going to be closed today and Monday. Thanks Canton Vet for making this super memorable. Just kidding. You guys suck!!

Picture this; A military family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children under 10) being moved overseas again. The process for getting any animal, including my service dog, to our new location is tedious, expensive, complicated, and so stressful. I brought my girl to this vet with all the paperwork and information. I was told they could do it. For three months I was told they were on it. During this three months I left many messages trying to follow up on a test they assured me was sent off to a lab, the results of which determine wether my service animal would or would not make this trip with me. I left so many messages that went unanswered. Time is coming for us to leave and still no word. I even went in person to talk to the nurse who assured me over and over that she had it and that she was doing everything that she could. But that message never came from her, it came from the receptionist. When I went in person she purposefully walked right passed me to avoid answering my question and called someone back to where she went to have them give me her response. I didn't know that it was because she couldn't face me and the lies she had been telling me. My husband and myself started reaching out to the labs ourselves and they just couldn't find the sample. Why couldn't they find the sample? BECAUSE IT NEVER GOT SENT OFF!!! I was assured multiple times that the nurse had sent it off and it was the lab just being difficult. Turns out the nurse was a liar. At this point my husband and I are scrambling to get the blood draw test redone and sent off. We found a pet currier that saved the entire situation. This pet currier, to be know as Wonder Woman, tried to contact Canyon Veterinary to get more information and health records and they couldn't be bothered and when Wonder woman was finally able to speak to the nurse she was wholly unprofessional and even hung up on Wonder Woman. The receptionists were never an issue, they were sympathetic and professional but that nurse...she's something else. She made an already tough situation even worse and strenuous for my whole family. Not to mention the insane amount of money we had to spend to get all of this done last minute on a holiday weekend. Luckily my story has a happy ending where Wonder Woman went above and beyond the call of duty to get my dog on the plane with me and into this new country. She was also aided by the lab who put a rush order on the sample because of all that we went through with Canyon Veterinary Hospital. I know there aren't many options for veterinary services in Ridgecrest but please don't use this office. You will NOT be satisfied with your baby's care.
