Checked in two rooms late at night after a long drive. Very tired and wanted to go to bed. Checked the bed before sleeping and found black stains on the pillow case, one light was flickering, and one light didn't have a light bulb or a switch. Pillows were flat and not enough to sleep on. The floors were dirty and the sink had a small clog and slow draining. Breakfast wasn't as expected. It was a prepackaged breakfast bun, sunny Delight drink, one pot of coffee, cereal and milk was not chilled, but left out. Not worth staying here but good for one night stay and go.

Let's start at the very beginning ...I called at 2 am to check there was opening for a late night check-in as I was traveling cross country and needed a quick place to sleep & shower and check out in just a few hours. Upon arrival, let me be clear, the night auditor/front desk representative was very nice, very helpful & welcoming. HE WAS THE ONLY UPSIDE TO THIS ENTIRE bug infested, rundown, filthy, stained & stinky establishment. The outside appearance is deceiving. Cleaned pool, exterior is painted. That's where the good ends. All the carpets in halls and rooms, heavily stained, filthy, not vacuumed, and pungent odor. The walls haven't been wiped down in this building in years, our air conditioner in the room was not only off but broken, and no thermostat. The desk chair looks like it was hauled out of dumpster and wheeled into the room. Gum stuck to it, rips in the fabric, the faux leather stripped off, headboards on both beds looks like Wolverine had a field day and ripped them apart! Bathroom towels, not only stained, but not cleaned. Bathmats stained, and both beds had consistently placed long hairs intertwined into the blankets!!! The surfaces were all unwiped and layers of just old film on everything. It's quite obvious no one wet wipes anything in these rooms. Or vacuums, or cleans up stains. I have never refused a room before. I did today twice. And the kicker??? I spent a total of 24 minutes in between 2 rooms when I finally just drove away and the manager was not there so I was told I would hear from manager about the refund the next day. What I got back was an apology for our "cancellation" of our "reservation" and we don't refund with no cancellations!! They stole my money, used their no cancellation policy to steal it, the hotel is deplorable & unsafe by even the lowest standards, and they prey on people either suffering through their stay or doing what we did. Leaving and no refunds. I will be contacting their contacting zoning office for safety inspection, as well as the BBB, the two other agencies involved with their business marketing and most importantly: Filing a complaint online with the Department of Consumer Affairs at www.dca.ca.gov (800) 952-5210 Additionally, I will be filing a complaint with the FTC https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/ I encourage anyone else reading this that experienced the same things we did to follow my lead.

How this hotel is still in business is nothing short of a miracle, probably because of the slim choice of hotels in Bakersfield. First we get there and our room will not be ready for another 30 minutes, which is ridiculous because we checked in at 4pm. So we come back 1 hour later and our room still isn't ready and it took about another 30 minutes before it was actually ready. So by then my family and I were pretty mad, then we get into a room that's small, a TV from '95 and the view of Little Tijuana. Do yourself a favor and don't even look at this place.

Don't waste your time or money. Used to be a good Roadway Inn, but has really gone down in quality. Dirty carpet, no breakfast as advertised, old furniture and furnishings. We asked for a refund and wanted to go elsewhere but he refused to refund even though we were there about 15 minutes. Last time here.

The picture is nothing like the rooms. 1st room smelled like urine. I looked at three rooms this place should be shut down by the health department. It cost me $368.00 and I was there for less than 20 minutes. It was disgusting I went to a five star hotel and I did not worry about the cost because I wanted to be assured I had a clean room . Expedia said that they would not be able to give me a refund.

The receptionist lady (older lady night shift) is very rude and impatient filled out all paperwork on the website and she made me fill everything out again while I was standing outside in 30degree weather (I filled it out on the website for a reason)

I would give this place minus 5 stars. When I got to the hotel, the premises was dirty. The hallways were dirty and smelled horrible. The room was run down and smelled like cigarettes and urine. I requested to cancel at the window and the attendant said no problem he would approve a refund. A couple of days after following up with the booking company the hotel will not refund as promised. Keep your money and book at a different hotel. Do not make the mistake I did, please use my experience to your benefit. This Hotel is not what you're seeing online.

This hotel is disgusting, dirty and ran down. They was blood on our bathroom door. Told David the Mgr and he said sorry thats all i can do is say sorry. Offered no discount or free stay also explained to me that blood isnt disgusting. The house keeper must of missed it. Still waiting for a call back from Corporate.
