Cafe Smitten

I live in Newport but everytime I go to Bakersfield I have to stop at Cafe Smitten! They have my favorite iced Matcha and I haven't tried anything I don't like their food wise. Also the ambiance is fun I love upscale casual dining. Last time I ordered the quinoa breakfast bowl and I will be ordering that again and again I'm still dreaming about it! The service is good as well everyone is super friendly and they have a self serve bar if you need napkins, utensils etc..

Cafe Smitten is perfect for working or relaxing. The coffee and food at the cafe were delicious. There's a nice outdoor seating area, and the staff were friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The drinks were great, and I really enjoyed the sandwiches. The coffee was rich and smooth, and the pastries were fresh. I had the mushroom sandwich, along with a tasty pumpkin pie. I loved the vibe of the place and will definitely return!

Service was 5/5 very friendly and quick. They bring your items to you and yea cute little place with a warm welcoming ambiance.Almond banana toast- smaller than I thought but good stuff. I wouldn't say I was blown away but I did like that all the ingredients tasted fresh and not cheap grocery store. I wish I recalled the name but it was the gingerbread? Holiday drink? Again, not blown away but it was good.Overall a nice little cafe, I'm inclined to say 3.5 stars vs 4 but don't feel comfortable listing it as 3

It's been awhile since I've eaten at Cafe Smitten! Glad I was able to bring my family in this time from brunch. It was super packed and outside seating wasn't an option due to the small amount of rain that occurred. However, we were to snag a couple seats near the counter which was nice! I got an iced matcha latte with nutella + hazelnut toast and my brother got an iced mocha with steak wrap and a salad on the side. The iced matcha latte was good but the matcha was mild tasting and I'm used to stronger matcha. The toast was really good, I definitely would get it again. My brother liked the iced mocha as well as the steak wrap!

Amazing! I loved everything about this place. The menu was phenomenal, food and drinks were outstanding and it was pet friendly. Excellent service and great music. Best dining experience I've had in a long time. Five stars all the way!!

I absolutely love this place. Their coffee isn't the greatest, but the ambiance, the back patio, their mimosa flight and those savory waffles are so good! I love coming here to catch up with friends on slow weekend mornings. The staff is friendly and it's just a great bakersfield spot.

Cafe Smitten doesn't miss. From the adorable and inviting exterior, to the friendly customer service and of course their great food and coffee. It's been a great choice for a quick lunch or brunch option. Their pie is especially delicious and a great sweet treat. Having choices like Cafe Smitten make downtown Bakersfield a real gem.

Oh my. I was passing by Bakersfield and was looking for a place that had Matcha and found this one. At first, I wasn't aware that it was sort of like a café/restaurant set up so that made me a little nervous, but the Matcha ended up being really good! I got a Matcha latte with rose syrup.The second thing I ordered was an almond banana toast. I didn't get to open my box before I left, but as soon as I opened it, I was disappointed because it was small and it was eight dollars! I also thought that it was on a hard sourdough bread or something of that nature because it looked really toasty. Like the kind of toasty that you might break a tooth on. Let me tell you, though, I quickly changed my mind when I took the first bite. IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH THOSE EIGHT DOLLARS!! That toast was the best toast I've ever had! And the bread wasn't what I expected. It was sort of like on a raspberry or blueberry or raisin loaf. Still not sure but it was not dry or too toasty at all!Anyways, you guys have to try it! I'm going to have to come back just for that.

Excellent vibe and lovely outdoor patio. Very dog friendly. Breakfast burrito and drinks were great!
