"So my review comes from the place of being a regular before the pandemic. This is only the third time I've been back post lockdown. Unfortunately, all three times I've been back, I've had pretty much the same experience: great bar food and bad drinks. They put ice in the pear cider and the wheat beer I ordered. The Ultimate Bloody Mary was served with a tajin rim, no spice whatsoever, and barely detectable levels of vodka. The drinks here used to be good, but just fail now. The food is still very good."

"What an unexpected lovely dinner we had there! It was our lobby bar at the hotel we stayed and a quick dinner choice . We had the wings, fries and herb roasted airline chicken. Everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Portions were great! Cocktails were perfect as well. Negronis were made to perfection! Service is wonderful as well! Would definitely go back!"

"What a pleasant surprise!! First time dining here for lunch and my only regret is not takings pics. They are set up somewhat self serve with a Steam Table but certain dishes are cooked in the kitchen. The Steak Fajitas came out sizzling, large portion and seasoned well. My Chile Verde Combo was very flavorful and not overly spicy which is appreciated.I have notice that some Mexican Restaurants are scaling back on salt which makes for bland offerings, but not Amigos, even their beans and rice were tasty. We will definitely be back and soon!!"

"Three stars is being extremely charitable here since this spot was the last place available to get food still open when I finished up a long day of bidness nearby. So they are getting three stars for still being open and having food available. They really managed to be open, so tick that box. Unfortunately, it is a sports bar so their main thing is probably shovelling tee many martoonies into the locals first, rather than providing the best food known to a person who is not yet drunk. Their menu largely reflects it is sports bar food - wings and such. So I am sure I gave them the California shock of their life when I rolled up at a late hour and ordered a salad. The lettuce was poor quality, in a place like this I imagine they do not get many orders for salad. They made it rain bacon chunks to offset the salad part of the salad, and the egg was rather sad looking. Still, I managed to get some food in me for the first time in over twelve hours due to all that bidness happening nearby.In a pinch for a salad late at night in downtown-ish Bakersfield? You can not do better than this joint right here."

"I had lunch this afternoon at the Drunk Donkey Bar & Grill, which I have had bookmarked for quite a while. I am disappointed to report that this visit is a one-and-done. The DD is a rather large place. One side is the bar and the other side is the "restaurant". The entire place has maybe 50 televisions and absolutely ZERO personality. (Think furnishings by Cafeteria's Are Us.) You would expect someplace fun and upbeat with a name like Drunk Donkey Bar & Grill. Perhaps the name is for the eight people bellied-up to the bar throwing down cold-ones at 12:01pm. We finally figured out that there was no table service at the DD Bar & Grill so we strolled over to the counter to see what was up. The food side was deserted and lights out. The bartender noticed us and quickly ducked back over to the bar side and ignored us. I don't know...maybe we should have ordered a couple of noontime brewskis in order to get anything out of that guy. Although, he quickly perked up when it was time to take our money as we were leaving. Anyway, we finally got got someone to take our food order. I had the DD Nachos. They looked and felt greasy. The chips were soaked and glistening with oil and tasted burnt. The toppings, however, were decent. My friend ordered the DD Fries. They looked really good and I think that she liked them more than I liked my nachos. There are 2 self service drink fountains that were pretty much non operational and unclean. After several tries, I finally found a functioning Diet Coke lever. Straws are on the counter in a help yourself bin and are not wrapped. Unwrapped straws alone are worthy of a one-star review. Again, maybe we should have ordered the noontime brewskis. We noticed 2 other patrons that were also ignored while waiting at the food counter, but they were smart and left without saying a word. I have said enough about the Drunk Donkey Bar & Grill, and I am happy to remove this bookmark from my Yelp. My recommendation for this place: Avoid."

"Walked in on a weekday and it was not too busy, but most tables were occupied. Got immediately seated and we were greeted by our friendly waiter. Decided to go for a shrimp taco for myself. Companion wanted a chimichanga, which is unfortunately not part of the menu. We were served chips as starters. I'd say service is fast and the shrimp taco was probably one of the best I've tasted so far. Love the ambiance, too. A nice place to go back to, for sure!"

"So this was our first time at Medranos and we did not know they were not all the same. Even though we went to the wrong place, we decided to stick it out. The food was actually really good!! It's nothing crazy, but, it gets the job done. Both my kids ordered their favorites and ate them without complaint (They wouldn't have eaten if they didn't like it) We also got to see the Dodger game; so not too bad. And as they were getting ready for the night, the DJ that they had was also pretty good. My wife was digging it so much she told me she was just going to come back in on her own to dance LOL. In the end, pretty solid spot. We will be back.....just without the kids"

"Haven't had this place in a minute! Went to the OG place in SLO and was pleasantly surprised to see a location in Bakersfield. Lol turns out they've been around for 7-8 years.Got the Tri Tip w/ added cheese, the Pig and the large sauce of onion rings. Everything including a soda came out to almost $50 so a little pricey but definitely filling. They have some outdoor seating so I was able to bring my pup! Ordering doesn't take too long and our food took 10-15 minutes on a Friday afternoon."
