"The pupusas are delicious. The beans are super flavorful!! There is a little wait of around 20-30 minutes for your food, but they are making your pupusas right there. From the little window, you can watch the senora making the food fresh. We got the pupusa especial (two pupusas and rice and beans), an extra pupusa, the quesadilla pan dulce, and a jamaica. We got a revuelta (pork and cheese), frijole (bean and cheese), and loroco (squash blossom and cheese). Of the three, the s tier was the loroco. It's has an almost meaty flavor and is super flavorful. The cabbage and salsa were also tasty. The quesadilla pan dulce is like a corn pound cake. It's really yummy!!This is a nice stop on your way between the bay and la. There's a covered picnic area that is nice. There are only hand washing stations, but there are a lot of gas station around it, so you can wash your hands and use the restroom around here!! Highly recommend this as a stop!!"
"Quick SummaryFreshly and hand-made pupusas were so good here! No frills but excellent service and great food at great prices! Lots of parking availableFood- 5 starsPupusa- tried the loca (includes everything), the ayote and queso and chicharon y queso. The pupusas are freshly made and are the star of the show. My favorite was the ayote and queso (squash and cheese)carne asada taco- really enjoyed the fresh tortillas here. the carne asada was good; would skip on the shrimpYuca Frita con Chicharron- this was pretty good as wellService- 5 starsNo frills spot but the waitresses were very attentative. Takes about 15 minutes to get the food ready, which is worth it because they make it from scratchBottom LineSolid local spot for some authentic El Salvadorian food. The pupusas are fantastic!"
"It feels like I'm walking through the neighborhoods of my childhood. The food, the people, the colors, the conversations, I've loved coming here more and more each time. Home, as in my home here in town, home in my childhood, home in our neighborhoods in our family's countries. It feels like home."
"If you're looking for good homemade pupusas that are filling, this is the place to go. Vos Pupusas is homemade fast food style housed in a restaurant. We stopped by for dinner on a Monday after work and almost all the tables were full. We ordered pupusas and an appetizer. The pupusas are large and one was more than enough for me. Everything was made fresh to order and the cabbage was delicious! The service was good even though they were busy. I didn't feel like we were being rushed out either when we had finished eating. They're located outside of the mall by chipotle and there's plenty of parking. There was one drawback, if I didn't have someone with me who spoke English there might have been a language barrier. I will come back when I have a pupusas craving!"
"We've been coming here for years for our pupusa fix and they never disappoint! I love getting the pupusas revueltas. They are a decent size, so I normally end up eating about 2.5 pupusas. We have only ordered to-go and never had issues with our orders."

We came here on a road trip stop! I didn't think the wait was long and the food was just what I needed to get through the rest of my drive to Southern California. Just be careful of the lot. Definitely a lot of pot holes. The pupusas were definitely the best thing we got! The tacos were good but the avocado salsa made them even better! We also tried the quesadilla, which is a Salvadoran dessert! I've had many quesadillas as my husband is El Salvadoran. This one was about a 4/5. A little too much like pound cake but they warmed it up so it was delicious! Stop here and order the pupusas! You will not regret it! I give the cheese and loroco pupusas 5 stars!!

This place is definitely worth a try. It's a small Salvadoran restaurant that offers both quick serve/take out and a full serve "sit down" option. We dined in and were not disappointed. The asada tacos were really good, with handmade tortillas which were thick and delicious. The pupusas were tasty. I recommend the Pupusa loca with a mix of everything in it. For me I think the highlight was the chicken tamale. It was a Salvadoran tamale which had a softer, moister consistency. I can't explain it, but do try it. I think they use banana leaves rather than corn husks because those are the only other ones I've tasted like this. Idk but so good!!! The service was good as well. I would definitely come back, and probably take some tamales to go!

We ordered menudo and a chorizo breakfast burrito with a agua fresca (chia cucumber lemonade). Everything tasted homemade. Our delivery order was well packaged with all the herbs, salsas and limon. The burrito was good, but the menudo was extra good!

First time at Vos Pupusas. Brought my mother-in-law, who is from Honduras, and we both loved our lunch of pupusas and fried plantains.

Good price for what you get. I got 4 pupusas, fried plantains and ceviche. All of it was delicious. The girl in the front was super helpful. The place looked fairly clean. The bathroom stunk though and the dining area smelled like old dairy. Rating the food its 5 starts but the place itself brings the rating down a little.

Since I occasionally work nearby, I found Vos Pupusas and come here for the convenience. The pupusas are a good value for the price at about $3.50 each. I think the size of each pupusa is pretty generous. Generally I can be content after eating one and pretty full after eating two. Pupusa variations: The asada and cheese is my go to. The chicharron I found to be too salty. My favorite used to be the queso y loroco, but lately when I try to order online, it is not on the menu. I've also tried to type in the notes to add loroco to the plain cheese one, but it did not have any. After numerous visits, my biggest gripe is that they take so long to fulfill an order. I order ahead and it is almost guaranteed that my food isn't ready even after the estimated ready time and I end up waiting an additional 10-20 minutes. Not super ideal on a limited lunch hour.

We were looking for something a little different in downtown Bakersfield. We heard good things about this place with the name gringos can't pronounce. ;)When I asked the server about the name, she said she thought it was a city in El Salvador. Later, because I needed to find out, I turned to Google and discovered that the name is reserved for the older generations of Salvadorans. I took this to mean it was more traditional Salvadoran food.It is a simple dining area with an open layout. Our server came out quickly, but because we needed more time with the menu, we asked her to come back. That took a while. The food was good and the portion sizes were ample. I had the Pachuga de crema. It comes with rice and beans. The beans had a different, thinner texture. I had some of the salsa to add a bit of flavor.Everyone at our table ordered something different. Everyone enjoyed their food. If you're looking for Mexican food, but want something a little different, try El Cuscatleco.

I've had a hard time finding a decent pupusa spot out here in the AV. I had lost all hope until we walked into Pupusas La Buena Vida. We ordered chicharrón and cheese pupusas which were phenomenal! They had a good cheese/chicharrón ratio and tasted like they came right off the comal to the plate. We also had their empanadas both the beans and the milk kind and they were also tasty! The service needs a little improvement, but as this is a new business growing pains is expected. The staff were very friendly. So please be patient, the food is worth the wait. The dining room area is very clean, a little tight if you're on the fluffier side like myself but I made it work. Overall! Great experience, great quality of food/ingredients! I will definitely come back for more!

"I wanted some pupusas and this location got the job done. As someone who does not speak Spanish, I wish they had a better menu that explained all the flavors they offered for pupusas. The menu is in Spanish and the workers I encountered spoke limited English. They were a nice size with good flavor. The shopping center it is located in is very sketchy so beware of your surroundings."
"Got there around 4 pm and was greeted by Jimena. I was given the choice of any table because there was only one other family. When ordering I asked Jimena her opinion on the "Happy Hour" appetizers and was guided to try the yuca and chicharrón. Definitely recommend it. The yuca was not soft but not overly cooked. The crunch on them was perfect. The outer core of the chicharrón was crispy but the inside was very juicy. I also had 2 pupusas revueltas. I only finished one and the other became my dinner. The Pupusa was full of flavor and was not greasy. The curtido was also very fresh and had a chilled sweet pleasant spicy taste to it."
"I am so glad we didn't let the negative comments sway us from trying this place. This place will definitely be on our favorites place from now on. We ordered the sopa de pata, yucca con fritada, bandeja la buena vida, and 2 drinks: arrayan, and marañon. Everything was so delicious! I am super picky and this place did not disappoint. It all tasted very much like my mom's cooking. The yucca was crispy and soft. The tamale's masa was flavorful. The sopa was full of meat and veggies. Definitely worth trying. Please give this place a try. Side note: All menu prices have a 3.99% increase if you pay with a card."
"I was craving a popusa and came across this little gem. Wow! All I can say is don't miss out and give this place a try. Authentic and delicious! Very attentive and quick service. Will be coming back soon."
"Visited Cafe Y Pupuseria for the first time today. They had the best Pupusas served with a fantastic pickled cabbage and sauce. We tried the bean and cheese, jalapeño and zucchini, and the revueltas. They were flavorable, the perfect texture and nicely grilled. The service was excellent and the price was great. We will return and are looking forward to trying other menu items. Cash only."
"Excellent service. The food is delicious and they make hand made tortillas. I have the camarones a la diabla and the sauce was very tasty and spicy"
