"I love a good meat shop and I am a huge fan of BL Quality Meats. They feature Harris Ranch Beef which never disappoints. I come in here quite often because there is always a great selection of beef, pork and chicken all displayed behind the glass meat counter in any cut that you can think of. Marinated meats are also on hand. BL Quality Meats is much more than the meat counter. It is also a specialty food store where you can find anything you might need to create a wonderful meal with one stop shopping. There is a great selection of seasonings, sauces and oils that you will not find in the local grocery stores. There is a barbecue takeout counter for your lunch and quick dinner needs. You can never go wrong with their tri-tip dinner special. That's what we are having tonight.I give a four-star because the service is not so friendly."

I went into the meat shop and was surprised you enter an industrial building but the interior is a nice modern office setting, the gentleman at the counter was very friendly and knowledgeable. I told him it was my first time there and he explained the process, you can order via phone and they will pack your order for you, or you can order at the counter. They had a flyer on the counter stating that week's meat prices, the prices were fair. I picked up a few different things and was on my way within a few minutes. They're very fast! "Tucked away in the back of a gas station on Fruitvale & Norris is a hidden gem. I have been a customer for over 20 years and will be for the rest of my life. This place is owned and operated by two two brothers Tyson & Jaren. At one point I lived less than 200 yards from here and would be buying meat at least 2-3 times a week. I have since moved to the complete opposite end of town and don't get there nearly as often as I should. Somehow I get almost giddy when going in and have been so focused on my upcoming meal that I have completely forgotten to leave a review. Shame on me!!! If your a fan of high quality meat this is a must go kind of butcher shop! For years they carried Harris Ranch (and still do) before a lot of the major chains picked them up. They now also carry Snake River Farms (look them up) one of the elite cattle breeders in the world. I guarantee you cannot find a better cut of beef anywhere in Bakersfield! The brothers are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. They will ask you how many people you intend to feed to ensure no one gets left out of the meal you are preparing to serve. They will ask you what method you intend to cook with and provide instruction whether it's grill, smoke, bake or fry. They will even write the instructions down for you. The meat selection is great with options like Cordon Bleu, stuffed Tri-tips, Fajitas, and much more! The selection of sausages is unmatched. Tip: the Apple sausage is incredible and if it wasn't for the texture you would sware you are eating apple pie! Some things to consider on your first trip are the Killer Griller, Blue cheese stuffed Tri-Tip, and of course the Apple Sausage. I could go on forever, if you haven't been here do yourself and your family a favor and go. They will thank you for it and ask you why you have not served this before!"

"Los Reyes is a decent market with a fantastic Panadería and an even better restaurant. They pass the test of a try authentic Mexican restaurant. No yellow cheese. We went in the other day for lunch because we were driving around Bakersfield bored looking for early lunch or late breakfast. The Enchilada plate had two giant enchiladas with super juicy shredded chicken inside and their rich and slightly spicy enchilada sauce outside. My wife's plate of Costillas (ribs) melted off the bone and were in a beautiful Chile Colorado sauce. Order a Taco de Tripas and tell them you want it "bien doradito". Crispy and clean tripe. That's what you get. Value is really good if you're willing to go out of your way a bit."

"So decided to go here for the first time got recommended by a family member so why not. At a first glance it is just off putting made me feel as if I was in a wrong location or maybe they closed down. Going inside was a similar experience very "bodega" like (hence the name) low very low traffic as it seems to be a hidden spot. To put this straight out there it is very sams club or cosco in the sense of being a meat place. If you sell or have a taco stand this will be a spot you would visit for meats in quantities or gallons of chilly or what not. That's the best way I can put it into words it's decent clean employees are respectable and professional don't expect "commercial happy friendly" welcomes or help. They'll be more then happy to help out very straight forward and that's that. The meat it self was good better then what these other super grocery stories or supermarkets have in stock surprisingly. I only had meat not the chicken but might go back for more seems to be worth the visit price is as expected it varies but for me it was decent and worth it. I had a good experience overall just wish they had better lighting and possibly some employees doing something rather then standing waiting on you feels weird shopping around having someone stand there. Otherwise really nice meat market!"

It was exactly 7:06 on my clock. I called them to see when they closed. The owner told me 7:00, but asked what I needed? I told him I was craving some chili verde, rice, and beans. He asked where I lived and how soon I could get there. Told him about 8-10 mins? He said he would have it packaged up and ready for me. I drove as fast as I could, lights where off and he was closed. I got me stuff and was on my way. Besides the GREAT service, the meats are great. Have never bought anything from the small selection of grocery items. The "cowboy" beans he prepares are very good and spicy."

There's a fresh vegetable section, the pastries are pretty delicious with good variety and reasonable pricing. There's lots of treats to be found around here, good selection for tea flavors. There's tons of spices and seasonings for your meats and the deli counter is huge. They do cakes, piñatas, and have a small dairy section. There's seafood as well. Every soda flavor you could ever need including glass bottle real sugar kinds. I definitely love exploring here and finding new things to try or old favorites. "I love this carniceria. Since it's my cousin's go-to meat market, I've been here with her several times now.Because she comes here all the time, and because the owner already knows her order, we are usually in and out in under two minutes. Meaning, I never get enough time to explore. Walking in to the shop, the very first thing one notices is how clean it is, which is obviously a great start. Next, my eyes are drawn to a long line of brightly colored salsas, which look mouth-watering.Moving towards the meat, which is in the back of the store, one passes through small but skillfully sourced aisles of produce and Mexican staples such as mole, various forms of tortillas, Mexican hot chocolate, a deep freezer full of La Michoacana paletas, and so much more. (I am proud of the fact that, during my most recent trip to Bakersfield, I got my cousin's kids hooked on La Michoacana mangonada flavored bars. They're an excellent fat-free alternative to ice cream.) In the front of the store are three fridges full of beverages, including bottled Mexican soft drinks produced with cane sugar. Along with everything I've already mentioned, the meat is fire. It's always perfectly seasoned and/or marinated, and comes out delicious no matter which one of us cooks it. All of our experiences with this shop have been positive, and I definitely recommend giving them a try if you're in town."

The first time we visited we picked up some stuffed chili verde double pork chops and those bad boys were thick. You would think the chili verde wouldn't stick, but it did and it works. I'm thinking, you should probably get that the next time you stop by here. 1 pork chop can probably feed 2-3 people depending how hungry you guys are, but 1 is way too much for 1 person. It's not that expensive, it's actually a really good price.This is located in a nice location with tons of parking, so parking is not a problem. Every time I have visited I have not seen this place super busy, so if you're in a rush, you can guarantee you'll be in and out quickly. They have nice meat packages too that's already bundled for you, so you don't have to take too much of your time picking them out since it's already bundled for you.They have a variety of marinades, sauces and rubs that is organized by brands. They also have lots of herbs and spices to pimp out your meats. If you haven't tried the meats here yet, I think you should. I'm looking forward to trying the different sausage flavors they have.We came recently for Father's Day and grabbed the stuffed pork chops and it was stuffed with stuffing. It had great flavor and I was pretty impressed. It was almost as impressive as the stuffed chili verde one. I highly recommend either one of those. My husband pan fried them on all sides then put them in the oven, it was very moist and delicious.The place gets pretty busy when everyone gets off of work, but it's pretty fast. The service is quick and they have several people attending the meat station, so you won't be there long. The place always looks clean considering there's meat everywhere. They also have side items that are already made or some veggies on the shelves when you first walk in to your right."
