"There is a parking garage 1/2 block south. It is on the corner of Eye & 19th street. Lots of seating both inside and outside. I was seated quickly and my waitress came over right away to take my drink order. I started with the garlic edamame and the mixed veggie and shrimp tempura. Loved the big chunks of garlic in the edamame. The coating on the tempura is a bit thick for my taste, though a good variety. They have a fairly extensive menu, which was nice. I then ordered two rolls, the rainbow roll and the Pinky Funky. Both were loaded with fish. The sauce on the Pinky is really good. More of that please. I will definitely contribute back."

"I've been seeing this place on my Instagram feed and decided to try it today with my son. We went after the lunch rush, so it was nice and quiet in the restaurant. We went to the location on Mount Vernon, and when you walk into the store it is completely different than it looks on the outside.The menu is good, and has a lot of options even for people who do not eat sushi. We tried the baked scallop roll, a California roll on rice, paper, vegetable tempura, a kitchen, bento box with chicken teriyaki, and Don Katsu, which is pork, and yakisoba with Chicken.The portions are large at the restaurant, so definitely shareable. The vegetable tempura was delicious and was served with one of the best tempura dipping sauces I've had. The outside had the perfect amount of tempura batter, and it was fried to perfection without making the veggies, soft or wilted.The Bento box was delicious and was a huge portion. It was served with a salad with a ginger sesame dressing that was mixed with a little bit of peanut butter, and I didn't care for it too much, I prefer mine without the peanut butter. The chicken teriyaki was tasty, the pork was also delicious, and the box also came with four pieces of California roll, and I ordered mine on rice paper. The yakisoba was OK. It didn't taste like much... It was a good portion, but it was missing the essence of wok stir fry flavors such as sesame oil, onions, garlic, soy sauce, and salt. I think my favorite thing in our meal was the baked scallop roll. Again, it was a fairly large portion, and definitely shareable. This roll was very fresh and topped with baked baby scallops, spicy mayo, and eel sauce. We also ordered the Bako roll, and that was good. It had salmon, cream, cheese, spicy crab meat, and was tempura fried, and topped with a dollop of Sriracha on each piece and a slice of jalapeño or serrano pepper.Overall the place was clean, and the staff were very friendly, and our waiter provided great service. We sat in a booth, and it was not as comfortable as a booth should be. There was no padding on the seats, and we could feel the frame of the booth, and the cover on them was peeling off.Overall, this place was good and will definitely go back when I am in the mood for sushi!"

"Had dinner last night with a couple of friends. The restaurant itself isn't very inviting. The front doesn't look like much (dirty windows and minimal signage) and when you go inside it's pretty dark. It was also warm inside. It was a pretty hot day outside and it didn't seem like the air conditioner worked very well. All three of us were sweating. I was greeted right away and seated to wait for my friends. The waitress was very attentive. My friends each had a Bento box which they enjoyed. I had the Udon soup and the Lobster Hills. I really enjoyed both. Had to take a lot of food home with me because the portions were pretty ample. So the nearly $50 I spent on my dinner and drinks will actually be two meals. The soup was delicious, somewhat spicy, contained thick noodles, mushrooms onions and the broth was just amazing! The Lobster Hills was also very good. The only complaint I have is that it was a baked roll so the top of the dish was hot as if it had been baked for a little bit but the rolls underneath the Langostino were cold. It was quite tasty though. My first time having Langostino and it really does taste like lobster.Honestly I'd like this place because the food was good but the atmosphere wasn't very comfortable."

"Love Hi Sushi!This is my favorite spot in town. The sushi is always fresh and the prices are very reasonable. There's typically only one server during the day son if they are busy for lunch the service could take a minute but will still get you out on time to get back to work! There's nothing too fancy to speak of on the inside. There's a sushi bar with seating for about 6 There's also booths along the wall. If you want good sushi and a good price this is your spot. If you want fancy ambiance might want to try another place."

"Bento Express is a hidden gem! From the name, I expected a simple menu of rolls and bento boxes, but I was pleasantly surprised by the variety they offer. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming ambiance. One unique feature that caught my eye was the bar seating, where you can watch the sushi being made.The service was excellent--the person who greeted and seated us (who seemed to be the owner) was incredibly kind, attentive, and accommodating. It's always great to dine at a place where you feel genuinely welcomed.Now, onto the food! We ordered the yellowtail sashimi, veggie tempura, chicken plate, rainbow roll, albacore sushi, and tuna sushi. The fish was unbelievably fresh, juicy, and flavorful, making the sushi, rolls, and sashimi stand out. The chicken plate was also delicious, with a perfect balance of rice, sautéed veggies, and tender chicken topped with just the right amount of sauce. The veggie tempura was another highlight--the portion was generous for the price, and unlike other places where you taste old cooking oil, the batter here was light, crispy, and perfectly coated the veggies.Overall, our experience was amazing! Bento Express exceeded our expectations, and we'll definitely be back soon--either to try new menu items or to enjoy the same delicious dishes again. Highly recommend!"

"First time here. Came with a group and sat by the big front window. It started to drizzle sideways rain as we ate, adding to the atmosphere of the restaurant. I mean that in a good way. I had the teriyaki salmon bento box which came with miso soup (not pictured but delicious) and I was pleasantly surprised at how big the portion size was. Ate some spicy garlic edamame from a friends plate and it was scrumptious, just like every bite of my lunch. It was served up steaming hot and I greatly appreciated that as well. Excellent prices, too. Service was quick and friendly. Our waitress had the memory of an elephant. All in all, lovely experience. Will definitely return & highly recommended."

"Lunchtime.Stopped in for the first time today.Place is on the smaller size, but is clean, and spacious enough to eat comfortably without being cramped in. Flat screen TV for entertainment.Waitress welcomed us in and was friendly, couple of people sitting and eating.Not super crowded on a Tuesday afternoon.Our order consisted of 3 iced teas. 1 glass of Merlot wine.1 order of the Las Vegas rolls.And 2 orders of The Chicken teriyaki bowls.When they brought the drinks, they also brought a little bowl of snapped peas as a complimentary appetizer, which is nice, but we didn't care for them to much, preference thing.Soup came with the teriyaki bowls, which is what came out next, not sure what kind of soup it was but it did smell funky and had like a layer/glob of mushy cream like consistency in it, like water mixed with oil, if you just let it sit there for 1 minute without touching it, it would separate... Just odd.So next came the food, we could see the chef making the Las Vegas rolls up front at the counter, but they ended up serving them at least 8 minutes before the chicken teriyaki bowls came out, so one person was half way done, before the other two got their food. Las Vegas rolls were delicious though, cooked freshly upon order and were basically deep fried California rolls, had a nice light and crispy coating with a generous amount of filling, also drizzled with a couple types of sauces. 10/10The chicken teriyaki bowls were also delicious, rice was soft and sticky, cooked to perfection, the chicken was tender and coated in teriyaki sauce, the veggies consisted of broccoli, carrots and onions and were soft but firm, cooked very nicely. My only complaint with the bowls were they didn't have enough veggies!! I saw maybe like 4 pieces of broccoli and the carrots were shredded thickly, but we're very few as well. Still giving it a 9/10.The iced teas were refreshing and the wine was on par.Food came out all in a decent amount of time too, waitress was very accommodating throughout the entire meal.Prices are a lil steep, 70$ for everything mentioned. Not too bad for 3 people I suppose.Wish we could have enjoyed our appetizer and soup too, but we were coming for the teriyaki bowls anyway. LolI recommend this place for the Vegas rolls and chicken teriyaki bowls. Enjoyable experience overall. The end."

"Had the best lunch date at Love Sushi in Bakersfield. Finding good sushi in Bakersfield had not been on my bingo card for the day but I was so pleasantly surprised with this meal that I had to come on here to tell you all about it!Love sushi was close to one of my friend's houses so we decided to stop in for lunch. Really the reason we chose this spot was because it wasn't far and it was one of the only sushi restaurants that opened at 11am vs 11:30am. We found this spot easily, clear signage and there was plenty of parking which was great. We walked inside and were immediately welcomed and offered a nice booth in the back. This restaurant is pretty small. Only about 5 booths, a small sushi bar, and a couple tables so on the weekends I would say come earlier. On a weekday this place didn't get too busy but lots of take out orders were coming through.Service & staff here were 5 stars and honestly the best part of this experience. Our waitress/server was darling and super sweet. Very attentive and she knew the menu well which was impressive as they have a large menu. She was helpful and checked up on us often always clearing empty plates and refilling our glasses. The sushi chef was also the kindest guy oh my gosh! He sent complimentary hand rolls over to our table. Who does that? It was so sweet and much appreciated, it set for good vibes right off that bat. That was a really generous free starter. Our meal was definitely very delicious and we both left super stuffed but happy. I'd say their sushi overall was 4 stars but actually their cooked meals and bento box were an unexpected 5 stars for me. Their Bulgogi was some of the best I've had, especially at a sushi restaurant. Almost as good as some Korean bbq spots I've been. The bulgogi had a great sauce and the sauce got hot enough during cooking it gave good little crispy edges to the meat. Super tasty and the bento boxes are Hooked up here! Came with rice, salad, miso soup, California roll, and two fried dumplings. Seriously what a deal?! The sushi was middle of the road to me, I liked some things better than others - my roll was tasty but needed a stronger sauce to give it a little more flavor. I liked the salmon hand rolls though.All in all we had a super fabulous lunch experience here. The restaurant was clean, cute, and cozy - my favorite c's. Haha. Service was impressive and the owner/chef couldn't have been any more generous. He also gave us a tiny apple dessert at the end, so sweet. Food was very good and for the large amount of food we ordered the price was about average. For a good meal though we are happy to pay. Definitely a new spot to come back to next time I'm in town, worth a try if you haven't been here yet. Good people, they deserve your business."

She told us about the chicken bowl and my parents and I immediately went to search for this little hidden gem. Service was great! I don't know her name but she was very sweet and helpful, ranged up my order. We ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl with brown rice and veggies. The chicken is very well potion with the rice and veggies. Chicken was so tender and delicious! The brown rice is tender not hard or tough to eat. Sometime brown rice can be challenging to eat.
