"My husband and I get donuts every Saturday morning, even if we're not geographically in the same place. Last Saturday, I needed to get my Saturday donut in Bakersfield, and wow, I wish this donut place existed where I live in Reno, Nevada. I got two donuts, and they were the first and second best donuts I have ever eaten. Seriously. They were so soft and fresh and filled with flavor. I got two yeast donuts: a powdered lemon-filled and a strawberry frosted. The frosting was perfection, and there was so much delicious lemon filling. The store location is small, and it doesn't look like there is room to eat inside, COVID-19 restrictions notwithstanding. I was taken care of quickly, and it only cost me $6 for two donuts and a cup of coffee."

"We have been to Mochido many times to try all the wonderful things they have! And when the owner posted he'd be making Korean milk donuts we had to try them! We live an hour away but make the drive down to shop and eat often! The owner is such an amazing kind man, he saw my interest on Facebook and gave me his personal number telling me he'd put aside an order for me since he sells out quickly and were so far. He did just that today, plus a friends order! These donuts are well worth the hype and drive! Only place within hours of us that even offers these! We got one of each flavor and the crème brûlée is NOT to be missed! Vanilla being our second favorite. Not at all as sweet as they appear, pure perfection! If you're a picture person the shop is so cute and influencer approved"

"One of my goals for 2022 was to finish trying all the traditional donut shops in Bakersfield, CA. Highland Donut located in the northeast area of town was one of the two I had yet to visit. Recently, I had the opportunity to drop by. Was expecting to be greeted by terrible customer service since that is what I had read on most of their latest Yelp reviews. To my surprise, I was greeted with a warm smile and hello from the girl at the counter when I walked in. There were already a few people ahead of me, but she still made the time to greet me. 5 stars for customer service!The shop is larger than the normal mom and pop donut shop. Several tables available to sit at and enjoy your sweets. The shop was also super clean. Large variety of donuts to choose from. They do not have just the traditional type donuts. Made it a bit confusing to choose because they had all kinds I wanted to try. Guess, I will have to return to try everything else I wanted. What I did eat was yummy. Boston Crème was very good. First time I tried a Maple Custard filled donut cause I had never seen one before. It was delicious too.Overall, I was very pleased with this initial experience at Highland Donut. Prices were very affordable too. Quite nice especially considering how expensive everything has been getting. I will be returning."
