Van D. "Luigis is a staple in Old Town Kerns, Bakersfield. My broworker's Nona approves so I know Luigis is as authentic as it gets without flying to Italy. Reservations highly recommended, they were pretty busy when we came by for lunch on a Wednesday. The weather was lovely so we decided to sit outside to enjoy the sunshine. Cassie took great care of us the whole time we were there. The menu was glorious with so many delicious options to pick from. My bro boss ordered their Truffle App ($17.50/small) for the four of us to share. It comes with a sliced loaf of sourdough for you to dip into the delicious sauce. This truffle app is like glorious pasta truffle purses. SO DELICIOUS. As for our entrees, I focused on the lunch specials to help myself narrow things down. I decided on their half order of Lasagna ($13.75) and my broworkers all got their Cole's Steak Sandwich ($24.95/each) which comes with thinly sliced ny steak with grilled onions and pepperjack cheese in a toasted soft roll. Okay okay maybe I should have confirmed and gotten that too, but my lasagna was really delicious. The half portion was still a mighty size and I easily got food coma after my meal. It was a good thing they had a cute gift shop with Italian imports as well as local Bakersfield goods for purchase. We picked out some thoughtful gifts to make gift baskets for our clients. I really love the family-vibes I get from the business both on the restaurant side and the giftshop side. I know this will be my first of many many visits to Luigis. I am definitely a fan and looking forward to coming back to try more of their menu."

Abby W. "Despite my dislike of pickles, I was willing to overlook the name of this deli and pick up our sandwiches from here for our picnic in Sequoia. I much prefer to support local chains rather and generally prefer the quality of them too. This spot was a great choice! My turkey sandwich was loaded with meat and all the other toppings I love were fresh. I love that they offered black olives. The only thing that could have made it better was if there was a variety of mustards available. For instance, I prefer a deli or spicy mustard to plain yellow but there's at least only one option listed on the online order form."

Beatriz M. "Cesar's Deli has been my go to lately when it comes to catering! I will say the food is absolutely tasty and prices are great! The Penne pasta with the Alfredo sauce has been one of the top hits for sure! Whenever I've arrived with that pasta in hand you can literally smell the deliciousness as soon as I walk in. In the last two weeks I've ordered from here about 3 times and every office always asked where the food was from before I left because they enjoyed it so much. The sandwich platters are huge, and feed much more then you would think especially when paired with pasta. The cookie tray is also so good! So don't skip out on dessert if you're ordering from the catering menu. So worth it! The staff is also super great, and always provide serving spoons and help me carry out my order!"

Nate M. "Not only do they make an amazing sandwich, but they have Dutch crunch bread! This place is located directly across the street from Fresno State and luckily I got here just as the lunch rush was starting around 11am. I went with a cold Italian sandwich for lunch and an order of beer batters fries. This sandwich comes with pastrami, salami, pepperoni, and provolone cheese. I got it with the works; onions, peppers, lettuce, oil vinegar, the whole 9 yards. You can tell they put care into their products because everything on this sandwich tasted super fresh. I went with the 8-inch and probably would've been fine with the 6-inch since I also ordered a side of fries. The portions here do not disappoint. We all know it really makes a sandwich is the bread and their Dutch crunch bread was fantastic. Also called Tiger Bread, the spread is super soft on the inside with a nice crunchy top. They make it by brushing a paste of rice flour, sugar, water, and yeast over the bread partway through rising process in the oven. If you see this on the menu anywhere, order it, trust me it's a flavor and textural explosion. You can dine in, get your order to go, or order through their website for delivery or curbside. The inside is pretty basic with a few tables and a small TV in the corner. Perfect if you're looking to get off your feet and fill your tummy. Parking is tight and like I said, I got here right before the lunch rush which had the line almost going out the door. Snack smart Central Valley Yelpers!"

McKenzie S. "So I work a hop, skip, and (not even) a jump away from Sub Station on California/Stockdale. But I've only ever frequented Sub Station Downtown. Mostly due to the fact that Postmates only delivers from the DT location.I've ordered SS at least four time now through Postmates and I've NEVER been disappointed. Except for the one time they randomly canceled my order, but I figured they had closed or ran out of what I wanted or something. No hard feelings, SS!While I love trying out a menu, when it comes to sandwiches I tend to stay with what I like. The Sub #1 with Capacolla, Gallo Dry Salami, Pepperoni, Ham PLUS Avocado, Pyrenees Soft roll, Ghost Pepper Jack Cheese, Everything on it + toasted is absolutely magical. There's something about magical about it. But you absolutely must order it as I mentioned above. Anything less and you're not truly eating my favorite sandwich. I first ordered my magical creation with extra jalapenos. NOPE NOPE NOPE. That was just too much spice for a workday lunch. Even the boyfriend said it was too much. I do think though, that sometimes their Ghost Pepper cheese is a little tame. Other times It's downright devilish. Add in a side of Macaroni salad and/or Honey Sriracha chips and you'll be winning the rest of the afternoon. Note, the sandwiches are a little on the pricy side if you're looking at the menu ($8.50+) but they are really large and great quality. In fact, half of my sandwich will double as my dinner later. Definitely a great spot to patron for lunch. Or Postmates."

Bruno P. "I can't tell what I like more, the ambiance, or the decor. I have a hard time figuring out which i like more, the ambiance, or the decor. the roma sandwich is the ultimate sleeper shadow wizard gang choice of sandwich because it is so infatuating with the perfect blend of salamis, peppers, and cheese together. I ate the entire bag of chips including the wrapper so i don't know what brand they were but the jalapeño chips are always a must. I saw that they had ice cream and gave it a shot, 1/4 for 99¢ like you know i'm hopping on that deal faster than a crackhead on a pipe. So the awesome worker went and defrosted the ice cream (that's beyond an extra mile i mean, we're talking at least 2 miles) and came back with like half a pint and let me take it. THEY DONT DO THIS ANYWHERE ELSE ARE WE FR RIGHT NOW? Great deli great place great people and even greater sandwiches (and wraps!)"

Excited to try more items very soon. The owner was very knowledgeable and was able to answer a few questions I had. Looked at the deli but didn't grab anything this trip. I did see they had toungue I wonder if it is as good as Pyreneeses. They do seem to have sandwich specials."

Jenny C. "Manhattan Deli conveniently off the 99 freeway. It caught my eye because I thought, finally, some place that's not a chain like McDonald's or Subway. I was not disappointed. I got the pastrami sandwich. It tastes similar to pastrami at The Hat for those in Southern California. It has the right amount of salty and greasy that I like with fast food pastrami sandwiches. One thing that's different is that they put tomato slices and mayonnaise in the sandwich too. I think the mayonnaise makes it taste much better compared to mustard. Give this place a try if you're in the area."

Nicole K. "The previous reviewer accurately described this as a cross between "The Hills Have Eyes" and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre." But don't let the fact that it looks like an EZ-Up Shed deter you. The food is delicious, and it earned an A on it's health inspection, so what's not to like? My husband ordered the Chili Colorado burrito, which he said was delicious, and the carne asada soft tacos (which I ordered) were also good--but SPICY because of their hot sauce, which looks like red chilis ground into a paste. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the food is fresh. It's definitely 100 times better than stopping at Taco Bell or McDonald's. Oh, and now they take debit cards. If you're ever in the middle of nowhere and need something to eat, try this place. You won't regret it!"
