"Aesthetically speaking the inside of the restaurant captures the essence of the rustic Mexican style restaurants. The food was delicious, I ordered the chimichanga de asada. The chimichanga was stuffed and the audible crunch from the perfectly fried flour tortilla was very noticeable. The guacamole was good although to my taste needed more salt. This is my own personal taste tho. The flavors inside the chimichanga were well balanced and seasoned. All of the flavors were delicious but I must admit that I am still stuck on the flakiness and crunch on the tortilla."

"The only time I visit Dutch Bros is when I'm in Vegas. There is no location within a 35-mile radius from my residence so I was pleasantly surprised to see a location while visiting one of the car dealerships in the area. I decided to get a drink for my drive home. Luckily, the drive thru line wasn't that long with only a few cars in front of me. However, I did have to wait a few minutes for my order because they mistakenly gave my drink to another customer. No biggie, I wasn't in a hurry."

"I can't believe that I have never reviewed this place. This is probably the most delicious coffee that I have ever had. The pastries are just amazing. The flavor is the one that I always get is the jalapeño waffle with syrup and cream cheese. It is to die for. If you are ever in Bakersfield do not hesitate to come to Adventure Awaits it's a great little coffee shop and the owner is really really a cool guy as well."

"Very skimpy on portions. Loaded biscuits and gravy should be swimming with gravy. Loaded is supposed to have biscuit, hash brown, bacon bits and egg. I paid for an extra egg. Did not get the egg or the hash brown. I do not eat the biscuit so you can imagine how crappy breakfast was. Upside down macchiato extra hot. Barely 3/4 full. Was shocked at how light the cup was. Trying to support local business, but the quality has to be worth the extra money."

"Here we are again... we walked out hungry for the rest of the menu. This place NEVER disappoints. We tried something new today, and man, oh man!!!! It was all finger-lickin' good!!! Bellies full to the brim, but we wish we had more chambers in our stomachs to try something else... we had to order the fish N chips (on top of our orders), and it did not disappoint. The owner said we should try the fried okra too, but we had no room for it. The portion size is so big... we had to take our leftover food home. They cater to large families too.. there was a couple long tables they put together to accommodate 15 plus members. This place NEVER disappoints. The staff is super friendly and you can tell they love their customers. The food brings us back... but the staff adds that whipped cream and cherry on top! What do you suggest we try on our next visit??"

"I knew there was a bakery past the Dollar Tree and the Grocery Outlet but I haven't really been inside. A very colorful and welcoming patio greets you and when we stepped inside, you'd see all these little birthday-themed merch that made me and my daughter take some time strolling before we realized that we went there wanting to try their baked goods. It was hard to decide if I wanted a cupcake or a bar but I chose the bar since I wanted to enjoy my treat at home. I was thinking of Bakersfield heat and didn't want to risk having melted icing when I get home. So, went for their billionaire bar and boy it got me hooked! It was so rich and decadent with the right balance of sweetness, I could probably eat one everyday! To be honest, I think everything on display would be as equally delicious and we know there's only one way to find out, this bakery deserves a return trip!"

I believe local coffeeshops can give you many good hints about the community that surrounds it! For example, cozy interior and free Wi-Fi serving delicious coffee and espresso drinks may tell you that a community is either made up of professionals who work remotely or students who go to a school nearby. In the same setting, couches setup facing each other may tell you that this is a tightly neat community that enjoys a good conversation over a good cup of coffee. So every time I pass through a town, I try to stop for a cup of coffee and spend a little time at the local coffeeshop. In my last trip, passing through Bakersfield, I decided to look for a new coffeeshop that I have not tried yet and decided on Summit Coffee. The coffeeshop is across the street from the Canyon Hills Assembly of God church. It is located in a big building (bigger than I am used to seeing local coffeeshops) and has a nice outside seating area.They offer a variety of pastries and more importantly coffee drinks at very reasonable prices. I had me a latte and enjoyed it. The coffee tasted very good and the latte was done the right way. The young lady who served as the barista was very nice and polite. I also noticed a couple of gentlemen sitting there and working on their laptops. Apparently the Café offers free Wi-Fi as well.Altogether a very good place to sit and enjoy a good cup of coffee."

"I can't even rave enough about this wonderful little cozy restaurant. I had the chicken because chicken is always my go-to, and I have never tasted such delicious chicken. I don't know what they marinate it in, but man, it was delicious. The wonderful lady who helped us first-timers with our order was so friendly and patient. She helped me pick out 3 sauces, and they all complimented each other. I had cucumber, rice, greens, edamame, and a few other picks. Hands down better than any restaurant food I have ever had. If I could eat here every day, I would... we will definitely be back. I feel this was a good option for my husband also as he is diabetic.
