"I decided to order online for convenience purposes. It was very easy to order from their website. Right as I parked, I got a notification that my order was ready. Here's what I ordered:-An iced Black Thai tea-An iced Coconut Chai Dream, with half & half, half sweet -Avocado Toast (for my friend)-Cubano sandwich with cucumber salad-Lemon Coconut CakeWhen I walked in to pick up my order, I noticed how busy they were. Everyone was enjoying their food, having conversations, and just brunching it up. Very nice vibe. The staff was truly working hard making sure to get orders out promptly. I went to the front and the young lady who was multitasking like crazy helped me. She had my drinks already ready and added my to go boxes in bags. What I appreciated the most was that she double checked the order to make sure I walked away with everything I ordered.My friend and I really enjoyed the food and the teas. She was starving so I think she detached her jaw and just took the avocado toast in with one bite. I can't completely confirm as it was there and gone pretty quickly. As for me, I LOVED the Cubano sandwich. The fact that it's done on Hawaiian bread was the whole reason I ordered it. I love when someone puts their own twist on a recipe. The ham was salty, the Swiss added cheesy goodness, the tea infused pickles and tea infused mayo was awesome! And the pickled jalapeños added another level that I did not know I needed. The Hawaiian bread is a great choice for this sandwich! The cucumber salad was crisp, herby and peppery. Very refreshing!The drinks were made perfectly! I liked that mine was creamy with a hint of coconut and sweetness. Not overpowering, just nicely balanced. The lemon coconut cake was a surprise! I loved that it was not overly sweet. I never realized how well lemon and coconut go together. My next visit, I will actually dine in. I really liked the energy inside. This is a fantastic place to go on a Sunday for brunch. The customer service was great and the food was made with love! Thank you, The Modern Tea Room, for feeding me and my best friend. We can't wait to visit again!"

"I knew there was a bakery past the Dollar Tree and the Grocery Outlet but I haven't really been inside. A very colorful and welcoming patio greets you and when we stepped inside, you'd see all these little birthday-themed merch that made me and my daughter take some time strolling before we realized that we went there wanting to try their baked goods. It was hard to decide if I wanted a cupcake or a bar but I chose the bar since I wanted to enjoy my treat at home. I was thinking of Bakersfield heat and didn't want to risk having melted icing when I get home. So, went for their billionaire bar and boy it got me hooked! It was so rich and decadent with the right balance of sweetness, I could probably eat one everyday! To be honest, I think everything on display would be as equally delicious and we know there's only one way to find out, this bakery deserves a return trip!"

We always get the large shaved ice, don't have a favorite as they're all really good. They always have new flavors posted on the wall, I try to get the new ones everytime we come in. It's so nice to get shaved ice all year long and not have to wait for the fair. Especially in this heat it's nice to have this place here in town. Definitely a hidden gem!"

Did not get the egg or the hash brown. I do not eat the biscuit so you can imagine how crappy breakfast was. Upside down macchiato extra hot. Barely 3/4 full. Was shocked at how light the cup was. Trying to support local business, but the quality has to be worth the extra money."

What I like best is the festive and classy Christmas decorating! Stop in and get something yummy and have a cup of cheer at the bar. The only tip I have is, if you have more than a few tables open, try to seat tables one table apart. It makes conversations amongst your own table seem easier."

"I can't even rave enough about this wonderful little cozy restaurant. I had the chicken because chicken is always my go-to, and I have never tasted such delicious chicken. I don't know what they marinate it in, but man, it was delicious. The wonderful lady who helped us first-timers with our order was so friendly and patient. She helped me pick out 3 sauces, and they all complimented each other. I had cucumber, rice, greens, edamame, and a few other picks. Hands down better than any restaurant food I have ever had. If I could eat here every day, I would... we will definitely be back. I feel this was a good option for my husband also as he is diabetic. "They just remodeled this place. Classic vintage diner that gives hearty portions... they definitely live up to that! Tried this place early on a Sunday morning. We each got an omelette and they come with choice of potatoes and toast or biscuits and gravy. I couldn't even finish my omelette. Tastes like a good diner food. Service was good. One waitress working the front until a second came when we were getting ready to leave. Clean place. Affordable compared to others! If you're looking for diner food, this is it."

"IMAGINE the excitement when we drove past a DUCTH BRO on the 99 freeway! Skkeeeet skeeeet. My ecstatic "NO WAY!" Led my cousin straight off the freeway! 6 of us popped out the SUV and ordered golden eagles, annihilates, the new camp coffee and everything was totally delicious! The customer service was simple and helpful. Maybe the largest Dutch bros I've ever seen! I'm used to the small drive ups in Nor Cal. This location is great and has really great window / doors that blast natural light into the beautiful industrial cemented walls. I guess there's plenty of Dutch bros in Fresno and neighboring cities. None in LA. Though 5 years ago I thought to myself I should gather some buddies and invest in a Dutch Bro franchise in LA, it's only a matter of time until someone does!"

"One of my goals for 2022 was to finish trying all the traditional donut shops in Bakersfield, CA. Highland Donut located in the northeast area of town was one of the two I had yet to visit. Recently, I had the opportunity to drop by. Was expecting to be greeted by terrible customer service since that is what I had read on most of their latest Yelp reviews. To my surprise, I was greeted with a warm smile and hello from the girl at the counter when I walked in. There were already a few people ahead of me, but she still made the time to greet me. 5 stars for customer service!The shop is larger than the normal mom and pop donut shop. Several tables available to sit at and enjoy your sweets. The shop was also super clean. Large variety of donuts to choose from. They do not have just the traditional type donuts. Made it a bit confusing to choose because they had all kinds I wanted to try. Guess, I will have to return to try everything else I wanted. What I did eat was yummy. Boston Crème was very good. First time I tried a Maple Custard filled donut cause I had never seen one before. It was delicious too.Overall, I was very pleased with this initial experience at Highland Donut. Prices were very affordable too. Quite nice especially considering how expensive everything has been getting. I will be returning."

The shop was spacious and in every way Instagrammable yet cozy. The person who greeted me was so warm and friendly, she probably knew it was my first time and made sure I took my time to choose my coffee. Dulce de Leche sounded perfect and it tasted as good as it looks. The coffee is so flavorful with the right creaminess, sweetness, and kick of caffeine that certainly made me awake for the rest of the afternoon. The place looks like very conducive for studying, so I'd highly consider this coffee shop when I'd need to be focused and free from distractions to actually get things done."

There is no location within a 35-mile radius from my residence so I was pleasantly surprised to see a location while visiting one of the car dealerships in the area.
