"They're food , service, and ambiance are always on point . I'm a food porn guy and if I remember to always take pictures I will so everyone can see what we're eating."
"I decided to order online for convenience purposes. It was very easy to order from their website. Right as I parked, I got a notification that my order was ready. Here's what I ordered:-An iced Black Thai tea-An iced Coconut Chai Dream, with half & half, half sweet -Avocado Toast (for my friend)-Cubano sandwich with cucumber salad-Lemon Coconut CakeWhen I walked in to pick up my order, I noticed how busy they were. Everyone was enjoying their food, having conversations, and just brunching it up. Very nice vibe. The staff was truly working hard making sure to get orders out promptly. I went to the front and the young lady who was multitasking like crazy helped me. She had my drinks already ready and added my to go boxes in bags. What I appreciated the most was that she double checked the order to make sure I walked away with everything I ordered. My friend and I really enjoyed the food and the teas. She was starving so I think she detached her jaw and just took the avocado toast in with one bite. I can't completely confirm as it was there and gone pretty quickly. As for me, I LOVED the Cubano sandwich. The fact that it's done on Hawaiian bread was the whole reason I ordered it. I love when someone puts their own twist on a recipe. The ham was salty, the Swiss added cheesy goodness, the tea infused pickles and tea infused mayo was awesome! And the pickled jalapeños added another level that I did not know I needed. The Hawaiian bread is a great choice for this sandwich! The cucumber salad was crisp, herby and peppery. Very refreshing! The drinks were made perfectly! I liked that mine was creamy with a hint of coconut and sweetness. Not overpowering, just nicely balanced. The lemon coconut cake was a surprise! I loved that it was not overly sweet. I never realized how well lemon and coconut go together. My next visit, I will actually dine in. I really liked the energy inside. This is a fantastic place to go on a Sunday for brunch. The customer service was great and the food was made with love! Thank you, The Modern Tea Room, for feeding me and my best friend. We can't wait to visit again!"

"Visited Chelly's Cafe for the first time. We wanted a nicer ambiance for a "girl talk" morning. Came for breakfast for some sister time. We sat down and waited to order. The menu is pretty large but we already knew what we were in the mood for. Took a few minutes..to a while for them to come and check on us. After placing our order we were ready for a good breakfast. The omelette my sister ordered was good but my eggs were a little weird and didn't smell fresh. I think the muffin was a better way to go. The restaurant wasn't crowded so thought the service would be very accommodating but was a little underwhelming. There's a lot to love with it being in a prime location. Diner food is usually an easy feat when it's your specialty. There's a lot of room for improvement and so much potential. I was hoping this place would be a new favorite but maybe I'll have to give it another try in the future."
"Always a crowd-pleaser, this spot consistently delivers delicious food. Despite the hustle and bustle, the servers stay attentive and efficient. Be sure to join their rewards program! Currently, there's a promotion running until 12/24/24: purchase a $50 gift card and receive an additional $10 for free. It's the best place in town for breakfast!11/29/24"
"Had breakfast here this morning . I had eggs Benedict. It was amazing. The eggs cooked to perfection. Ham was tender. It was very good well done Apple Annie's. The service was awesome. Everyone polite and welcoming. PLUS 5 STARS THIS MORNING."
"This place did not disappoint! The service was very attentive and accommodating of us with our 2 year old. They were able to put us in the corner so we didn't feel our daughter's high chair would be in the way which was super nice. The food was great. The portions are big and definitely worth the price. If you're looking for a quick bite that is a large portion this is the place! They even have flavored coffee creamers which my wife loves. We will definitely be going back!"
""A sandwich for Lunch", yes it should be the title. Great, clean ambiance when I had a late lunch at this restaurant. I ordered their pastrami and bacon sandwich with fries and jalapeño pepper popper on the side. To my surprised, it was delicious and tasty. Oh I had a great time munching it slowly. I finished the plate. Waitress are attentive and all of them are asking me if I need anything as I sat alone in their bar. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for breakfast, lunch sandwiches and pancakes. I have to try eating breakfast with them next time."
"Started our 2025 Valentines Day weekend and got my wife a little pick me up service was amazing as always and although there was a line out the door and every seat taken inside, we were taken care of pretty quickly! Thanks to the staff and the two cooks kicking butt behind the scenes!"
"Seat yourself.Cute little diner farm vibes with a lot of rooster display.I ordered the farmhand special with cinnamon roll pancake, DELICIOUS!Perfect portions, the cinnamon roll pancake was a great dessert after the bacon/eggs/hashbrown. Hashbrowns were crispy & soft, eggs were cooked the way I asked. It does get hot in the restaurant though, but not as hot as it is outside. Overall great place for breakfast/lunch."
"The place is small inside!! There's music playing, and seating outside! The lines can get pretty long, so sometimes there's a wait. The burrito is VERY much stuffed! I enjoyed every bite because each bite had the protein. I tried all their sauces and there's one for each person, sweet, sweet and spicy, very spicy."
"Mango Haus in Downtown Bakersfield is such a special place! Located in the beautifully converted Hill House, it's like stepping into a tropical oasis, even though the surrounding area might seem a bit iffy--don't let that stop you. Mango Haus has come a long way from its early days as a vegan spot (with another name) in the Southwest, and you can truly feel the passion the team pours into every dish. Everything is made fresh, and it shows in the flavors and care that go into the food. With a great lineup of fun cocktails, it's the perfect spot to meet up with friends, relax, and enjoy the laid-back, vibrant atmosphere. Mango Haus has definitely earned a spot in my heart!"
"Great customer service and amazing food. Very clean and I was able to eat breakfast and work"

I can't believe this is my first time here. I've been hearing about Copes for years. It is a quaint rustic coffee shop, serving breakfast & lunch. The staff is prompt & friendly even though they are very busy. They have a quite extensive menu of breakfast & lunch items. Breakfast is served all day. Their lunch menu looks excellent as well. I'll be back soon to try it out. What I like is that they offer many individual items if you don't have a big appetite. I order a biscuit with gravy and a side of sausage. The biscuit was cloud fluffy, the gravy was rich and peppery. The sausage was moist & spicy. The servings are generous. If you want delicious down home cooking this is the place to come.

I love this place! My go-to spot for celebration breakfast and lunch. The place is so so cozy! I love their vegan and non vegan options, and how they can accommodate for different diets. The people working there are also so kind and friendly. I love their jackfruit dishes!

Here for the first time with my hubby. We love breakfast and heard this was a great place to dine at.We came during the week. There was plenty of parking outside. Inside was crowded and lucky for us there was no wait.We placed our orders and our food arrived quickly. I order the veggie omelette and it came with potatoes and toast. My husband ordered the bacon and eggs. It also came with french toast. The prices weren't bad and the food was great. I think our servers name was Rebecca and she did a wonderful job. Thanks, and see you in the near future.

On my way to Vegas, I needed a caffeine kick to stay alert behind the wheel. I exited off Highway 58 and discovered Henry's Cafe. From the outside, the place looks very unassuming, but once inside, you'll find a spacious dining area that is well-organized and comfortable. I was greeted by the hostess and requested a coffee to go. While she was preparing my coffee, I looked around and noticed that the food being served looked really delicious. Had I not arrived with a full stomach, I would have sat down to order a meal. The coffee was excellent, and I happily got back on the road. However, I made a mental note to stop here next time and try a meal.

Apple Annie's is a long time restaurant in my hometown. Apple Annies is favorite of locals and convenient for travelers staying at local hotels. We came for breakfast at the request of a family member and I wasn't sure what to expect since I probably hadn't been there for probably 40 years. All I know is that the parking lot is always full every day of the week. The restaurant is clean and in great condition for its age. I decided on the New York Steak and Eggs for my breakfast. Our server was very helpful and patient with our elderly mother. The five meals were served quickly, hot and lacking any sort of flavor. The steaks were tough and the coffee was weak. I probably should have stayed with a breakfast entree. Overall, I enjoyed myself with the fam and the exceptional service. Three Stars for lack of flavor.

Excellent customer service-today I went there with my friend who has several food allergies. She forgot to let the server know she is allergic to egg yokes and when her burrito came out with regular eggs instead of eggs whites she felt terrible because she could not eat her meal. It was her mistake, not the server's, and they fixed it with no charge. One of my very good friend owns a restaurant in town and I know the margins on food. They aren't significant and I am sure this was replaced at a loss. We appreciate making the experience enjoyable even with our oversight. Not only does Old River have a menu that offers a variety of options for those with food sensitivities and allergies (gluten free pancakes) they accommodated my friend's oversight. Thank you Old River Grill for going above and beyond. I love all of your establishments and visit them all frequently.

We ate there on Thursday around brunch time, I couldn't believe how busy it was ,that showed all the good signs to me .we met my son and his friends from college there and ordered mostly the big bopper special and a few other things. The food was outstanding. All the boys loved their chicken fried steaks made from scratch. The service is great. Your coffee always stays warm and full. My daughter had the chili Verde omelette and she said it was delicious and everybody really raved about how good the bacon was and the French toast not to forgetWe are from Tehachapi, but we will definitely come back here again. This will be one of our spots for the area when we come down to shop.

"Went on a Thursday morning for brunch and ordered mount chilaquiles and totchos which were pretty good and hearty portions.Server was very attentive (but also because it wasn't too busy). This was my second time here and have had good service. Decor is updated and place looks clean. We'll come back to try other things on the menu."
"Great little spot to stop and get a home cooked meal. It's a true little diner spot, very welcoming and homey feel to it. We've had everything from eggs Benedict, pancakes, French toast to sandwiches and burgers. We'll keep coming back to this little gem on our travels."
"Apart from great chili, the most tender Chicken tenders, excellent Acapulco salad perfect patty melts, crispy steak fries great 50s ambiance and attentive, smart service, I have special place in my heart for Route 66. They support our community in probably more ways than I even know. But here's one that's meant alot to me... When a high school team makes CIF playoffs or wins, the whole team comes to Route 66 for a party and all a gift. Tonight we happened upon Taco Tuesday. Hubby jumped at the Asada Fries, which were ample, tasty and tender steak, yummy chipotle over crispy fries. My fish tacos were divine. Light fluffy batter perfectly fried fish was just what I hoped for and for $5.99! I enjoyed one of my granddaughter's light baster fried chicken tenders. Couldn't ask for more! Thank you, Route 66, for lots of great meals, fun monthly car shows and for supporting our families and kids!"
"First time trying and did not disappoint . Gave the classic diner look. Staff was friendly, fast, helpful. They weren't kidding on the portion size haha definitely come with an empty's stomach forsure . . Overall great place would come back again"
"Hostess Nikki is amazing. Note: place was busier than usual. Nikki has the perfect personality to be a waitress; she's very friendly and explains the situation. Unlike our waitress totally ignored us, didn't come and say hi till after a long time, didn't excuse herself nor apologies for taking someone else's order before us when we came before them, I requested a complimentary coffee for the inconvenience of waiting so long and her taking the order of someone else first, she declined and said she has to charge for the coffee. Wow!, unbelievable!!Thank goodness for Nikki and the other young adults working here who made up the difference of our impassive waitress. Wish these 3 young adults the best! Praying they have a successful future. God bless."
"We were craving Brunch so this cafe popped up on Google. Once we got here, we were greeted and seated right away. The staff is very friendly. The decorations are so cute too. The food was really good and so was the coffee. We got the mimosa flight and it was really worth it. They were so good. I'd say this is a place you do have to come check out at least once."
"Bakersfield has the largest collection of Basque restaurants in the United States, with the Pyrenees Cafe being a super old one. I think it was first opened around 1901 as a boarding house, mostly for men, and brothel house on the side that served people coming in from Spain and other areas--the food and the women. It was also quite busy during prohibition making their own booze. Whether it was good, who knows, this was years and years ago. There are not as many Basque places in Bakersfield as their once was and I wish they would all come back. They are just great. The food is wonderful. It is often served family style and you just feel welcome. The ladies of the night are long gone and it is kid friendly. These establishments like Pyrenees carry the traditions of their ancestors, offering a Basque food experience to everyone. It is on a long street and there are several Basque places to eat and we love them all. This one is a favorite. Customarily, meals at the Pyrenees Café are multicourse, served family style at long tables, but they also have smaller tables and a bar counter. We always get started with the 'set-up,' a generous spread of bread, soup, beans, salsa, pickled tongue, vegetables, French fries, and spaghetti. Now you don't have to do this and you can have just bread or whatever to start, but we love the 'set up." I don't like tongue, but I drive it back to my dog who loves me for it. I am sure it is great, just not for me. The entrees include lamb, chicken, pasta, ox tail and seafood, or the special entrée of the night, which is always great. So, go. It may be a new experience for you and the entire Downtown (near the tracks) Bakersfield area can really use the business. It is super safe and it is fun. Oh, and now they have Breakfast. Yummy."
"We love coming here. It's a clean cozy diner vibe with great food, friendly people, and they offer free delicious coffee for Veterans. Can't ask for more!"
"I came here with my family and let me tell you the food does not disappoint. I came twice actually for dinner and for breakfast but on 2 different occasions. The service was good as well, they provide you with a number and they bring the food and pick up the food for you. It's a nice place to come and eat with the family. It can get a bit busy. Shout out to Oscar Hidalgo he was the cashier who helped us out very patient and was pur server as well very polite. Will I come again definitely!!!!! maybe next time by myself, my family is too expensive, lol JK . Will bring them"
"Love Village Grill Cafe!!! Cooks are AWESOME! Service GREAT! Menu is always hard on what to choose, because EVERYTHING is DELICIOUS!!!!"
"Great service and food trust me It's a hidden gem for Palmdale ..... must try And big portions if u like it BIG otherwise good and quite for good convo"
"Cant help but love this place. The food is ALWAYS GOOD. The service is ALWAYS IMPECCABLE. The ambiance is ALWAYS LIKE HOME. It's definitely a home away from home kind of breakfast place. You become part of the SPENCERS family. Pull up and savor it all!!!"
"We had such a great afternoon at Harrington House ! Great food, great service and delicious drinks !"
"Extremely healthy food and great staff! Overall a great experience having to look for a healthy option. I do wish some breakfast items were available all day."
"Food was so delicious. It's big portions serving. I truly recommend for breakfast/ brunch"
"Great food,.Good liquor prices..Cute place !The jalapeño soup is to die for!The menu is has a lot of good choices each one very different. Also their lemon drop or Grapefruit drop are very good martinis.Sometimes over the weekends they get busy and there is a short wait time ,but it is well worth it!"
"Crunchy fish and chips. Salad and beans were tasty. Delicious steak and eggs. Lots of parking including for RVs."
"First time here.. great food . Awesome service. Good ambiance . Alot of food.. clean place"
"Expectations werent high however, we were suprisingly WOW'd by the promp excellent service and quality of dish ordered. I'M pretty particular of steaks being appropriately mediam rare with balanced herbs and spicing...On this day, I ordered the steak and egg breakfast, and DAMN, that steak was AWESOMELY cooked to perfection, salt and spice balance in harmony, tender and delicious. Interestingly, food servers have robot assist to bring food to its customer. High tech touch to a neighborhood eatery, how good is that. Definitely coming back and will i highly recommend to friends."
"We've been to Skillets Diner a few times now and each time the food has been consistently delicious and the wait staff very friendly and efficient. Their chili verde omelette and/or skillet is spicy enough for people that like it hot but not so much for others that don't. I've also had their spinach and mushroom omelette and it quickly became one of my favorites. I would definitely recommend for a tasty and enjoyable meal."
"The food was great and Laura's service was incredible. Wil come back again. The ambiance is adorable"
"Dion B. Server was fantastic 5 , zero complaints. Food was excellent, homemade tortillas make the meal extra special. Only reason I rate four star is the ambiance. Does not feel like authentic Mexican restaurant. One tweak of dimming the lighten would make all the difference. So bright and cafeteria feeling."
"We adore Sugar Twist. The donuts are always fresh and some of the best in town. Their cakes and pastries are always a hit at birthdays and get togethers. Recently, we bought a dozen of their savory jalapeño pastries and our group went crazy over them! Sugar Twist will always be our favorite!"
