It's not easy to get a group of my family's size together often, and finding places that can accommodate a party of 7 that also produces excellent food is a challenge in an of itself. Broken Bit is the business. Small town environment, but when you walk in the door, a legitimate steakhouse aura greets you. You'd have no idea it shares a strip mall building with an ambulance company. Dark wood, lowlights, and a warm environment abound. The menu is expansive and has a lot of options. The food is excellent and well prepared. I don't remember what everyone at the table had but the highlights I recall are: deeply flavorful polenta, jalapeño poppers that were equally sweet and spicy, and excellent steaks. Large wine and liquor menu as well, so discerning pallets are well met. It's fantastic that a place like this exists in a town that only seems to grow when corporate entities move in. Make a reservation and settle in for an excellent meal.

What a bummer. We so wanted to like this place as we've heard from locals that it is THE ultimate special occasion spot. Even one of our movers said he celebrated a milestone birthday here and had the best time. We couldn't wait to try it!We are new residents of Quartz Hill and I must say, so far, we've had some awesome food here. Like The Easy Egg cafe, Karen's, Best of Europe(legit Italian hoagies, New Yorker approved), Clasico Tacos(enchiladas and chili verde to die for) etc... our local eateries are on point! I called right when Broken Bit opened at 5 PM. I said I wanted to order for pickup and they had me wait so someone at the bar can take the order. After 5 minutes, someone gets back on the phone then hangs up. I called back and said I got hung up on and the gentleman said it was an accident and apologized. No biggie. I told him it's our first time ordering as we are new residents of QH. We ordered the cowboy burger, kid's cheeseburger, Jalapeño Poppers, poblano grits, and garlic prawns. He said food will be ready at 6.I got there at 5:55. The place which I've only seen from the outside until today, looked so cool on the inside. Love the rustic cowboy vibe. It was packed in there with couples celebrating Valentine's weekend and families having Sunday supper. The hostesses were the best greeters. So attentive as soon as I walked in. They point me to the bar where I would be picking up my food. I go to a lady who is making drinks at the bar. She might be a manager. She looked up at me and asks if she can help. I tell her I'm there to pick up an order. A waiter who heard me tells her he would go to the kitchen and check. While I was waiting, another waiter asked if I've been helped. So far, I'm impressed by the staff.I was told the food wasn't ready but should be out shortly. I say, no worries I will just pay now and wait. I am hanging by the bar waiting for a while until I realized, I waited far too long without any acknowledgment. I walk over to the hostess station/waiting area. I kept looking at the bar so I don't miss someone flagging me down for my food. Now it is 6:20. I've been waiting 25 minutes. I go up to the bar and ask one of the bartenders and he says he didn't see my food when he went to the kitchen. I go back to the waiting area for another 10 minutes. The lack of communication forced me to go up and ask for my food. This time, I asked the barback and he went back and found my food. It was 6:35 when I left the restaurant. It was disappointing to see the bar staff so inattentive when the two lovely hostesses were doing an outstanding job keeping waiting parties informed and apologetic for any delays. The bar could learn a lot from them. Don't ignore your customers who you know have been waiting. All it takes is communication. We got home and seriously, every bite was flavorful and perfectly cooked, making it clear that the kitchen knows what they're doing. However, the experience as a whole was soured by the lack of attentiveness at the bar for my take out order. I ordered at 5 and by the time I got home, it was 6:45. It's a real shame because the food was genuinely fantastic. But the lack of attentive service is what left me feeling kinda funky. Management really needs to step in and address this issue because, with such great food, better service would make this place unbeatable.

A Hidden Gem with Amazing Food, Romantic Atmosphere, and Stellar ServiceBroken Bit Steakhouse is truly a hidden gem! While the space is cozy, it adds to the charm and makes for an intimate dining experience. The food here is absolutely incredible--steaks cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere was calm and romantic, making it a perfect spot for a date night or a relaxed evening out. They also have a lovely outdoor seating area with fire pits, which adds a cozy touch for those who enjoy dining under the stars. One standout aspect of our visit was the exceptional service. The staff was incredibly nice, welcoming, and attentive. Our server was knowledgeable and helped my fiancé and me pick exactly what we were looking for, which elevated the whole experience. Service was quick and efficient, making the evening smooth and enjoyable. My favorite dish was the Ahi Tuna Stack--fresh and beautifully seasoned with center-cut yellowfin tuna, creamy avocado, a bright gazpacho, and a perfect balance of chipotle oil, furikake seasoning, and soy ginger lime vinaigrette. My mouth is literally watering just thinking about it again! The restaurant also has a large parking lot with plenty of space, and while there are other small businesses nearby, they tend to close early, leaving the lot open for restaurant guests. One small critique would be the plating--it could have been more refined--but honestly, it didn't matter because we devoured every bite! It's worth noting that the restaurant leans more toward a bar-style vibe, so it may not be the best choice for kids, as the menu is more adult-focused.If you're looking for amazing food, attentive service, and a relaxed, romantic ambiance, Broken Bit Steakhouse is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

I don't want to deduct points for the hostesses but they're rude. Short and curt answers every time my husband and I go. RUDE rude rude hostesses. First they're aggressive with the "do you have a reservation?" And the last time we went the hostess didn't let me answer the question assuming we didn't have one. RUDE! BUT that being said the food is amazing enough to return back and be berated by the mean hostesses and the bar tender IS AMAZING a MAGICIAN MIXOLOGIST love love love him and our very last waiter was Jaden. Sorry if I spelled it wrong but he was attentive and polite and kept my glass full. Thank you I get my husband and I may not be the demographic this restaurant serves but if the rest of the staff is polite attentive and respectful can't see why the hostesses have to be rude? Was there job to detour us from coming in? FOOD WAS AMAZING I literally cut the steak with a butter knife!!!! Drinks worth the torture once we got past the mean gatekeepers (hostess'). My husband wanted me to clarify it was the women hostesses.

Food is ok, but sadly, the steaks are their weak spot while sides excel. The servers are nice and ambiance is great for Quartz Hill.

This is the best restaurant in the AV. Not a lot of competition, but it's a solid restaurant. Steaks very good, cocktails good. Grilled Caesar very good. Wine list needs work. Very Cab S heavy. Not particularly interesting. Where they need improvement is service. Even with a reservation you have to wait. We went to the bar to get a cocktail while we waited, we were never greeted by the bar staff. In fact they seem to go out of their way to not make eye contact. The manager Orlando however is great - so why isn't the staff more like him? You feel like they don't want you there. Our waiter however was awesome. Note to management: the attitude of the bar staff and the hostesses is off putting. Welcome guests, even if you are busy and let them know you'll be with them as soon as you can. That goes a long way with people.

Wow! I was very pleased with our visit last night. All of the staff were so kind and welcoming, and very attentive. The food was AMAZING! We got the quail breast appetizers and the pork chops and they were delicious and tender! The restaurant itself was decorated very nicely and was very clean. The "Bees Knees" cocktail was also a delight! Definitely recommend!

I came here wanting to hate it, because friends wouldn't shut up about it, however the salmon was absolutely lights out. Drink service was a bit laggy; Nonetheless absolute excellence.

Honestly, service was amazing. The steak that I got last night was the 30 day aged prime New York strip and it was very chewy, not tender at all. I expect more for the price. My wife got the filet mignon and it was good very tender and juicy. The side we good the garlic mash potatoes was very garlicky. The lobster mac and cheese was good. The veggies were good. The vibe was nice.
