Great food, very tasty desserts. Been there several times, never disappoints. Try the rib eye chicharrón. Although it may sound cliche, try Tacos de Lengua, Bakersfield's best tacos de lengua by far.

First time to Brazas. We had a group of 13 so I'll take that into consideration during this review. Very nicely decorated inside. Definitely more of an upscale atmosphere in the evenings. The staff were all friendly and were accommodating when issues arose. Ordered drinks and two out of the 13 were not brought until servers were asked twice. It was busy I get it. But that's something shouldn't happen. Had a table full of appetizers. Fried calamari, ceviche, mushrooms in cheese, chicharron, guacamole and chips. Everything was tasty. The chicharron was damn good. Calamari was just ok. Cooked well but had a funny flavor. I am not a mushroom fan but it was really good. Wife and I shared the Mar-y-Tierra with the ribeye. ($59) The one in the photos is what they served. Steak was way over cooked super thin and an overall bad cut of meat. I showed the server and he immediately took it back to show the cook. About 10 minute later they brought out the most beautiful perfectly cooked ribeye. (I didn't get a picture but trust me it was how it should have been from the beginning). Also came with 4 overcooked shrimp that were cold along with the veggies. The octopus was cooked well and I enjoyed it. Cold too but we had a large party so I guess that's expected. The couple next to use ordered the cowboy steak. They were brought the Tomahawk out because the cowboy was sold out. A $40 complimentary upgrade. And it was cooked perfect. Deserts were ordered but I did not try them. They looked good though. The bill for 13 people was about $1100. So with tip was about $100 per person. Drinks, apps, dinner, desert. I would go again for a special occasion and try something on the Mexican side of the menu.

We've been here a few times and loved it before. We decided to celebrate a friend's birthday here. BEFORE I made a reservation for 14 people, I spoke to Juan, the manager, and specifically asked if they could do separate tickets for our party. He said they could split the ticket into 5 tickets only. That worked for us, so we made a reservation. When we checked in BEFORE they sat us, I asked the hostess again to make sure they could split the ticket, and she confirmed it with Juan. The waitress, Jaqueline S., didn't want to do it and said she would just split up the total amount of the ticket evenly on 5 tickets, which is not what Juan said. This doesn't make sense when one person in our group was only going to order a drink and not eat while others ordered different meals and extra drinks. They went back on their word. The 2nd thing that was off - they charged us 11% sales tax instead of 8.25%! LA doesn't even charge that much (LA's sales tax is 9.5%). We asked to speak to Juan and we waited for him for an hour but he never appeared at our table. The 3rd thing that was wrong - the waitress charged us for "Rack De Cordero" (lamb) when a person in our party ordered a hamburger, not lamb. How do you put the order into the kitchen for a hamburger and serve it to our table but charge us for the lamb, which is $17 more?! We told the waitress and she corrected the ticket. I had raved about this place to friends but was VERY disappointed on how this birthday celebration turned out. Make sure to check your receipt!

This was our second experience at Brazas and unfortunately the second time wasn't as good as the first. While the drinks were better, and the tostada-beans/salsa doesn't disappoint, the appetizer and main meal did. Last time we came we ordered the calamari and it was so light and tender. This time the prices were larger and tough. We both decided the order the Mar-Tierra again with a ribeye and the other with a filet. We requested medium rare for both. The ribeye was so thin (almost like a glorified piece of asada) it was not possible to be medium rare. The filet was a bit better but only the middle was tender and medium rare. Overall wished we would have gone somewhere else. Service was quick though and ambiance was same as last time-dark-moody.

We visited during Valentine's Day. It was a special menu for the night and unfortunately items on the menu had run out. We also didn't get our two glasses of champagne that were already priced into the meal.

Went here for my birthday this year and I'd say it was a wise choice. Ordered the pulpo (octopus) and my god it was huge. It could have fed a family! The ambience is dark and brooding with little light granting it that mysterious vibe. Plenty of other birthdays are done here since the chanting was never ending!

Brazas is a nicely appointed, modern decor Latin American restaurant that puts some chef-inspired flare into the cuisine scene of Rosedale. From unique takes on classics to original dishes to traditional standbys, their manageable but diverse menu has something for everyone. The service we experienced was among the best I've in at least five years. My wife ordered a drink that sounded like "ilusion" and an ordered a pineapple margarita. Both excellent cocktails. We started with their version of chicharon: chopped "crispy" ribeye served over homemade guacamole with various roasted peppers and hot tortillas. Then we shared the carnitas. Finally we let our server talk us into flaming peaches, presented table side, for dessert. Portions were ample, prices reasonable (high but reasonable) and our server was fantastic. We plan to return!

Amazing Service, amazing food! I got the Tequila chicken and the flavor was amazing! My girlfriend ordered the burger and it's a thick patty and it has a blend of chorizo or something similar it was amazing too! We asked for an anniversary dessert and they brought out thick nice slice of freshly made Flan, which they decorated nicely and lit a candle on there. I forgot the name of the server but he was amazing had glasses, very friendly. We will definitely go back.

The food was great they have a large menu with a wide variety of dishes to meet all eating habits. Our waitress was fantastic she knew the entire menu inside and out and had tried all the items on it. The ambiance was perfect very clean with low lighting and music you could actually have a relaxing conversation with all the people at our table.

Went for Sunday Brunch with a group of friends. It say it was disappointing is an understatement. Nothing marked so you didn't know what was in the dishes,Luke warm food they left to sit until gone and only then they replaced. Same for all the other items. I love Menudo but this was the worst I've had. Thought I would do eggs but the cook kept leaving his station so gave up. Hate to say it but for the expense and $5 for any beverage over the mimosa's that came with the meal we all felt robbed and won't be back. Tax and tip came out to $40 per person. We hoped for a nice buffet...this isn't it. Don Perico's is actually pretty good with more items and less expensive.
