Bob's Muffler

I was referred here by a mechanic in Gorman after my exhaust pipe cracked on a roadtrip. I didn't do any comparison shopping or read any other reviews. I went on trust. I was one hour into a six hour drive at the time. They raised up my car, showed me what was wrong, gave me a 1-2 hour estimate at $150/hour. I hung around while they fixed my car. Clean restroom. When the repair was done (I didn't keep track of time), they only charged me $100!I swear my car and the air circulation in my car is better than it has been since I got it! I'm so grateful for this service. Thank you!

Great job Frank! These guys took me right in on a Tuesday at 2pm by 3:30pm I was out with a resonator delete and a muffler delete with new tips! Excellent work and friendly service! A++. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful too!

I went to Bob's for a simple repair ( my tail pipe had broken away from myMuffler) they jumped on it right away with out a lot of discussion or BS. Bob's staff took care of it right away I paid a very reasonable fee and I was on my way. I also saw another woman with a smog problem Bobs staff explained to her options to her in a very clear manner and even ran a scan on her car to help her out . I would recommend this muffler shop to anyone needing this 5 Star service

Went in with out an appointment. The girl at the desk was super helpful and explained everything to me. I wanted my muffler to sound louder and we did the muffler delete the same day and only took about a hour and half. Definitely going to go back for more mods :)

Went in for an H-pipe install on my 5.0. Service was quick and courteous. Will definitely go there for any exhaust work I need in the future.

Stopped in early Saturday morning to buy an aftermarket Magna Flow muffler. They opened at 8am, my truck was on the lift at 8:20am and I was leaving at 8:40am....blown away at the the speed and service at Bob's Muffler. I would recommend them to ANYONE.Full disclosure....I arrived a little before 7am and I was #2 in line....By 8am there were at least 20 people waiting. GET THERE EARLY! First come, first served. What is great is they have cameras to see who has arrived and when...their is no issues about when you arrived...they know. GO BOB'S!!

I had them do some muffler work on my truck and they did a great job. The guys did a great job with the special welding that I needed to get done. Of course the gal at the front desk was very helpful and gave me a reasonable price on all the work that was needed. I would definitely return if I needed to get more work done. They also took care of a missing hanger that I forgot to tell them about at no charge.

The catalytic converter was stolen off my car in March 2020 and I took it to Bob's Muffler to be replaced. Fast forward three years - my car is rattling and smells like it's running rich. I took it to my mechanic who has been our family's mechanic for 20+ years, he tells me, "Your catalytic converter is bad, you need to go back to where you got it. They don't go bad." So, I return to Bob's Muffler. I have a copy of my original estimate, but not the HANDWRITTEN paperwork/warranty they gave me after actually replacing it. After burning through a quarter tank of my gas sitting on the "reader." They are refusing to fix their faulty parts and job because I don't have a copy of the actual receipt/warranty because "they don't keep record of those." Anyone else buying that a business that has been around for decades doesn't keep records of warranties they sell with their catalytic converter or is it just me? Anyone else think it's a quick way to force a customer to purchase another one? Anyone? No? Just me? Several people have made comments they wouldn't be surprised if Bob's Muffler was working with those stealing catalytic converters to increase their business, make a buck and honestly, after dealing with them today (most specifically the RUDE woman in the office) I don't think I'd be surprised either. Local Bakersfield businesses used to take pride in their work and customer relationships, not this one.Response to owner: I find it interesting you don't keep records of work you've done - suspect even. "Libel" and "defamation" don't apply to someone's OPINION, which is clearly what I provided. Are you insinuating it's illegal for me to ask questions on a suspect interaction? What type of "reputable" business doesn't keep records of their work? Of any kind? Correct me if I'm wrong - you sell warranties on catalytic converters to customers BUT KEEP NO RECORD FOR YOURSELF? None? Anyone can create a warranty and bring it in? Given it was handwritten? The Bureau of Automotive Repair says THAT is not legal. If you're trying to intimidate me into silence, you're sadly mistaken. I stand by everything I said. Every. Single. Thing. You guys are making hand over fist in catalytic converters, and I'll say it again - SOUNDS SUSPECT TO ME. We plan to have your shoddy work corrected by an honest and reputable mechanic. And every time you comment, it makes more and more sense. I'm not mad about a lost receipt - I'm shocked at your lack of customer service and basic business principals. Truly. That's what reviews boil down to right? One's experience with a business. Chill.Either you or your manager (ironic that others have the same complaint about your manager as us?) said, "we don't keep those, we do too much business." You're awfully defensive for someone who says they did nothing wrong. It's very interesting. You're talking in circles. So, again...for the whole class, you do not intimidate as you're attempting to do, and I stand by EVERY SINGLE THING I said.

In short: Honest, quick, efficient, reliable.I've come to this shop multiple times over multiple years for various issues ranging from muffler concerns, catalytic converter issues, and even radiator problems.They've never once given me problems and their work is always done incredibly well. Even in the unforeseen circumstance of something going wrong with work they've done they're quick to own up to it and correct the mistake.P.s. yes, the area surrounding the shop looks "sketchy" as I've heard many say, but looks aren't everything. Their work is terrific.
