The Beer Bank Food Mart is the new kid on the block in Oildale and it's making a big splash in this economically challenged neighborhood! The Beer Bank opened this summer and is big, beautiful, clean as a whistle, and ready to meet your late night munchie needs..It has your basic convenience store layout with refrigerated cases covering one wall full of juice, water, Sobe drinks, a multitude of Gatorade flavors, energy drinks, and of course - as the name promises - beer. The beer selection is much better than your average minimart, though, as they carry Coors, Coors Light, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Negro Modelo, Dos Equis, Corona, Blue Moon, Samuel Adams, even Newcastle Brown Ale.In addition, there is a soda fountain where you can get not only Diet Pepsi but also Diet Dr. Pepper on tap. AND... drumroll please... they have crushed ice - THE GOOD KIND! And not only can you fill your fountain cup with it, but you can buy a bag of crushed ice for $2.49. Bring some home and be the hit of the party! They carry chips, corn nuts, and all different varieties of Chex Mix (I took home the turtle flavor). There are frozen food cases with microwaveable meals and various individual ice cream treats, too! Mom scored a Magnum Double Caramel ice cream bar! Don't forget the huge selection of candy. They also carry a number of grocery items in case you're doing late night baking and run out of ingredients ;) They carry both dog and cat food, too.I've been driving by this place ever since I got back to Bako in August and was looking forward to going into the Beer Bank Food Mart and making a deposit. Turns out I made a withdrawal instead. C'est La Vie.P.S. On a more personal note, this is the 500th Yelp review I've written, a big one for me. About review number 490, mom and I agreed that the 500th review should be a memorable one and decided right then and there it should be the Beer Bank Food Mart. I don't know if the review was memorable, but our visit sure was. We had a much better time checking out the store than we expected. Both the guys working here were exceedingly friendly and polite.Stop on in and check it out! If you're lucky, maybe you'll be waited on by the self proclaimed hot and sexy cashier.

This place is a joke. If you send your kid they will over charge them and won't even tell them how much the total is and won't even give a receipt. Don't go here unless you want to be burned..
