Worst Honda dealer I've ever been to. Unfortunately it's the only one in Bakersfield. I scheduled an appointment in January to get a RECAL fixed! The only available appointment they had was a month later (FEB 17). The service advisor's are liars, they said they don't have parts on hand for the recalls. That they have to order them as appointments are set so when I get there on my scheduled date they will have the parts. Well I took the day off work for this appointment on Presidents' Day. I missed 10hours of over time pay just to get there and for them to tell me "oh yeah we don't have that part available for the recall, you're going to have to reschedule" My appointment was at 8:30am. There's no reason why I should not have received a call to let me know of this. There is no reason why they should have ran out of parts when the whole point of scheduling this was to guarantee they had the parts on hand for an appointment. THATS WHAT AN APPOINTMENT IS FOR! The lady just said "oh sorry, they just told us this morning" like it's no big deal. Basically F me right? She tells me they'll give me a call in a few hours to let me know when they have more appointments available. Well it's the next day and no call. I called three times and service doesn't even answer their damn phone! I tried getting ahold of the service manager and to my surprise he also doesn't answer calls. Do not give this place your business, they do not care about the customers. Even jiffy lube has better customer service than this place.

I cant believe how understaffed they are in the service dept . Theres people stacked up everywhere waiting for a oil change . I wish there was another dealership in town i could take my car to for service . My hats off to the workers , I know thier doing the best they can . They all look like thier working hard .The Dealership just needs to hire more workers ! ( its always been like this when i come in ) Not just this time !AND they offered me a ride home while servicing BUT when i asked for that ride , i was told there would be a wait because the one and only driver had to go to lunch , An hour in a half later i checked back only to be told he just left for his lunch ( again ?) And that my oil change is gonna take 4 hours at best ! Ive been here two hours and they say im looking at two in a half more

One of the worst services I received from a dealership, I own a 21 accord, took it in since I moved here from Oxnard and all my dash lights were on, they took a whole day just to call me and say my car needed a lot of repairs that would cost me around 3k. And that the insurance that I got from the Honda dealer which in this case would cover any electrical damages would be covered, well apparently not here because they said the cables were chewed by an animal. Like what? How would that even be possible? Long story short they said it wouldn't cover it, I go pick my car up and they wouldn't let me take it. Said I had to pay 180 dollars just for them checking it, when my insurance was suppose to cover it, just like my previous visits at the Honda dealership I purchased it from. Since this insurance covers my services at any Official Honda dealership but it didn't here so I decide to ask for a manager and he quite literally said, I'm sorry your insurance doesn't apply here so for us to release your vehicle you have to pay the 180 dollars. The next day I head over to DCH Honda of Oxnard and they took me in right away, checked the car and said all that happened was a cable was disconnected and needed replacement that was all. I payed 200 dollars just for that when these thieves were trying to take 3k from me. Unbelievable!

This is about buying a new Honda. I have no experience with the dealer in any other context or capacity.My experience of buying a new car at Barber Honda was, in a word, outstanding.That said, I should clarify that 90% of the experience was due not so much to the dealership as it was to the salesperson I dealt with, Mr. Joel Valdez. But I give credit to the dealership for having such a good guy on their team.Most of my dealings with Barber and Joel occurred via the internet. I am in San Luis Obispo, and "went shopping" for a new CR-V Hybrid via email at ten Honda dealers between Clovis and Oxnard. Not only did I get the best price from Barber and Joel, but Joel was absolutely fantastic in our communications. He always answered my email questions immediately, always had or got the answers, never bs'ed me, never tried to sell me crap that I didn't want, never tried to talk me into an upgrade or a different model. We "talked" via email for over two weeks, and Joel was far and away the best person I dealt with from among those ten Honda dealers. It didn't hurt that he also offered the best price.I decided to buy my new car from Barber after two weeks of communicating with other dealers and evaluating their offers. I told them at the beginning of the two weeks that I would buy from the dealer that offered the best deal. But by the end of the two weeks I had also decided to buy from the person who was the best communicator and the easiest to work with.I told Joel that I wanted to drive the 140 miles from San Luis Obispo, sign the paperwork, and be out of there within an hour. We didn't quite make it, but were close. All the paperwork was ready and waiting for me, there were no surprises, no last-minute changes, everything was exactly as promised and expected. Joel gave me the keys and I drove home feeling great about the whole buying experience.After I got home, I realized that I had made a mistake on the loan paperwork. I sent a message to Joel explaining MY mistake, not Barber's--actually, I had changed my mind about something. He said, "No problem, we'll Fedex you new documents to sign and fix everything." Which they did. This was MY mistake, not theirs, but they were great about solving all the problems quickly and efficiently.So I can say without reservation that dealing with Joel and Barber was a pleasure. Avoid at all cost. Customer service is entry level at best, sales and service department fall short, cars are unreliable. Avoid this dealership. Also reminder that you will have to wait during all service appointments unless you're able to get a ride on their once-a-day shuttle service (basically a Honda van).

BEWARE - you CANNOT expect them to do their job correctly, or to be honest with you when they screw up!I purchased a Honda EV from Barber Honda in May 2024, with financing pre-arranged through Honda Financial. All I needed to do was go to the dealer, sign a few forms, and pick up the car. Easy peasy, right? Well, turns out they had NO clue what they needed to do (this was obvious at the time, when I knew more about the vehicle and EVs in general than they did!), and then they FAILED to file a necessary form with the IRS (their OBLIGATION, one they were REQUIRED to do) so I could claim the tax credit! They had counter-offered to let me get the credit "up front", but only through a financing deal at a rate 5% more than I already had, which would have negated the credit and then some.When the IRS rejects my claim and I call the dealer about it, that's when the LIES started! They barraged me with stories. Oh, *this* purchase wasn't eligible because the car rolled off the assembly line too early (how could I possibly know that?! You said NOTHING at the time!), the "up front" credit offer was the only way to get the credit (for a car that wasn't eligible?! You sure thought it was when you made that offer!), the lower rate from Honda Financial had the credit built-in (I checked - it DIDN'T), you had to LEASE instead of buy to make the tax claim (a common lie that some quick searching easily proved false)... Some of these things contradicted each other so blatantly that they couldn't POSSIBLY have been honest about all of them -- heck, they weren't honest about ANY of them!It appears they were simply hoping I'd give up on getting the credit ($7500!), which I didn't get entirely because of their incompetence. No offer to follow up, no offer to check on how to fix it, no "I'll get back to you" -- it was just a "we got your money, now go away" situation.

Took my car to the service center with an issue with my door actuator malfunctioning. Was told they couldn't find the issue. Walked out to pick up my car after they had it for over 7 hours to open the door to the same issue that they said they couldn't find. Told they would order the part and it's been 3 weeks already and I still haven't received the phone call I asked for from the manager or my part. I shouldn't have this many issues on a car that is barely 2 years old. I really wish that they would correct this issue for me
