I received my open water certification some years ago and my experience was top notch. Tavish, Steve, and Peggy are some of the greatest people to work with and some of the greatest people period. I will be going back for my refresher course soon.

Love Peggie the shop owner. the instructors are the best I've ever dealt with. Best experience I've ever had at a dive shop. Most give shops are terrible but This is the exemption.

These folks are awesome. Peggy can help you get anything and she is very knowledgeable. Steve teaches the classes and does a fabulous job. They also periodically schedule dive trips to exotic places and know the lay of the land. Together they make the entire scuba experience amazing. If you need anything scuba, I highly recommend these people. Plus you help support a local company and the dive community they foster.

Steve and Peggy are amazing scuba instructors, I enjoy their passion for the sport and the ability to guide and help as I learn.

If you're the least bit hesitant- Don't be! You will not regret dealing with this team!! My daughter (16) and I just finished our open water certification and can't wait to keep going. This place is great! My wife and I did our confined water dives with bakersfield scuba to get us ready for our open water referral dives we would be doing in Cozumel for our certification. The staff is great! Steven and Peggy worked with us one-on-one and made absolutely sure that my wife and I were prepared and confident for our trip. Our instructor and a few other divers that we dove with in Cozumel couldn't believe these were our first dives and said we did an amazing job. We have since gone on to do our advanced open water certification through bakersfield scuba and it was another great experience! All-in-all these are awesome people to do business with and they have really good prices on gear as well!

Within the past few months, I decided that I wanted to try something new and get into scuba diving. I had no previous experience and knew I would have a lot to learn. I signed up in the shop and quickly was given a schedule for classes. While attending classes in person, I did the e-courses and learned a lot through both. We practiced in pools and gained new skills. As the first few weeks went on, I still felt I had more to learn and was able to let the shop owner, Peggy know. She quickly scheduled an extra pool session to ease my concerns before our big trip to Catalina where we would use our skills in the ocean. This extra class helped greatly! When it was time to go to Catalina, the staff were amazing! I had expressed a need to take time and work through my nerves and the staff was nothing but understanding. Steve led the class and Dave spent a great deal of time helping me through. They let me demonstrate skills at a pace I was comfortable with and were nothing but supportive throughout the process. I could not have asked for a better experience. I am now certified to dive in open water and am looking forward to more learning with this team. Every single member took the time we needed and I couldn't have had a better experience. Thank you to everyone who was part of this trip. You really made it special. This customer service is unparalleled.

They don't show up when they say they will. Multiple times I drive my son here for his class and they "forgot" they had scheduled it. Don't count on getting good service. Waste of time

We enrolled my then 11 yr old son in the 'Discover Scuba Diving' classes and he had a wonderful experience, I just don't remember the Master Scuba's name but he's very nice and he's great with kids. We also had a good previous experience with the gear rentals, even though it's a small business and there's not a lot of gear and other equipment for sale. Today I tried to book and pay for 3 spots for an oncoming boat trip to Catalina Island, including the gear rental, but the lady in the phone told me that she'll put me in a waiting list because she was saving some of the spots in the boat for some people that she knows, pointing out that they haven't pay yet, so if they don't pay for their spots in the next one or two days, then I can book.Now, I'm not kind of throwing a little tantrum in here because I'm not getting what I want, I just think this is not the way to do business. Your'e dealing with clients and not just buddies; and this kind of business is not precisely the neighborhood grocery store. People pay in advance for a service and then they get their spot or their rental, that's the way it works in every serious business.

Got my certification with Bak Scuba. The staff are amazing and the instructors are great. I too like to support small business and you won't be let down with the family atmosphere they provide.
