I have been a patient for over 25 yrs. wearing customized AFO's for that long. After 6 months (starting in July 2023 and finally got approval in December, finished brace February 2024.Co-pay paid, brace made, happy camper for 9 months until brace needed repairing. I was and ONLY then advised the Medicare did NOT approve it, they lied to me and then when I arrived for repair on same brace, they hit me with huge outstanding bill AND are now withholding ANY further repairs on the brace. The person that I had a 25 yr relationship with, would not even have the grace to talk with me. DONE. FIND another company!

As an allied health care professional I can say with authority they are very nice and treated me with respect and dignity. The kindness was very evident. Highly recommend! I received my diabetic shoes and they were a perfect fit.

I got a new back brace here, a replacement for on old one I've had. The thing is, the first time, they were running an hour late. They called to say they were running 1/2 an hour late, but 10 minutes before my appointment, and I was nearly there. My next appointment was yesterday, and they called to say they had to cancel. I was rescheduled for the next day, today. They were 30 minutes behind. I had many errands today, and their lateness caused me to have to drop one thing, which was important. I don't know why they don't value their customers more. If I was running an hour late, or 30 minutes, would I be able to keep my appointment? It's a pet peeve of mine, and one time is forgivable. It seems to be a normal business practice.

They didn't have the compression sleeve on hand that I needed so they measured my leg for my torn calf muscle. I was patient and waited over a week and a half and then called and waited for a callback that never happened. So almost another week goes by. I have to go to my Dr that is handling my disability paperwork and let them know whats going on with this place and mind you my injury happened March 6th. So I was able to get the managers and CEO phone number and I called the manager yesterday and explained everything and she scheduled me for a 10 am appointment and people have been going back and it is now 10:42 am. I mean seriously..WTF??!!!! just to get a fucking calf sleeve!!

Everyone here was very professional and knowledgeable. Nice people and they were very fast with their service. It seems like they are on top of things here and ready with solutions(I had a couple problems) . I would definitely recommend anyone who needs prosthetics to come here.

Yelp will not allow me to update or otherwise review my 2019 review, and so I submit this "follow up". After a disastrous experience in 2021, I will no longer use this vendor for my my modest needs. I have not lodged a formal complaint with Kaiser Permanente, which still uses BPOC as its orthotics and orthopedics provider because my small purchases are meaningless as compared to others whose need for custom crafted artificial limbs or other life-changing appliances trump my needs. Specifically, in 2021, BPOC: 1. Failed to fulfill my order; 2. Failed to update my address and phone number after I had sent them a notice of the same; 3. sent me ridiculous notices asking me to "visit to be measured" for items FOR WHICH I HAD ALREADY BEEN MEASURED; 4. Demanded i pay for items I had not received, BUT WHICH I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR. I had to demand, twice, a refund, after sending, twice, written documention which detailed their repeated errors. I will not ask anything from them any more. There is also the "dirty little secret" about charges. I am supposed to pay 20% of my Medicare charges--but my 20% is often MORE THAN 75% OF THE PRICE FOR WHICH MY ITEMS CAN BE BOUGHT ON THE OPEN MARKET, e.g. from WALMART.

My husband got a brace for his back from this facility and he was told its 100% covered by his insurance when he picked it up. They failed to check the coverage at the time of issuing the brace, but later kept sending him a $280 bill for it. It turns out, his insurance was cancelled the same day he picked up the brace but he was not aware of it, and the office did not bother to use his second insurance. And to add to this payment conflict that exists due to negligence by the office staff, the brace is smaller in size than the previous brace he had gotten from them in the past. I reported this issue to BBB, but Bakersfield Prosthetics & Orthotics has not responded to them yet. It seems they are used to the negative feedback from their many other clients, and have chosen to accept maintaining a poor reputation and impression.
