as a senior i have limited income. I was denied help with dog food by Robin (who is the rudest person i have ever run across) I had found a dog dumped in some rocks outside of my home someone broke his leg and he was half starving. I nursed him back to health and found him a wonderful home. Robin denied my application for LIFE because i helped the dog. I have to now find homes for the two dogs i have because i can no longer feed them. The man in front of me took 8 bags of litter while the woman who Robin was helping yelled at her she could only have two bags. The woman leaving said she has 48 dogs. They will not even help me out with two? It seems Robin Picks and chooses who she will let in her club! That woman should NOT be a president of a company when she has zero social skills! Thanks a lot Pet Pantry because of your pick and choose i have to lose two best friends!

Up until today I have had a very good experience with these folks. That all changed this morning when I went to get some food for our 3 dogs and 2 cats.I was told at the check I desk that my application for assistance had been denied due to the fact that I had added a dog (our beautiful husky/shepard mix Mischka)last year which supposedly is against their rules.I was told I could discuss this with the director Robin .I got back in line and waited while other customers were being helped.Upon being called up I showed Robin my application marked "denied" and she said that this was a long standing policy of theirs and that it was a"cardinal rule" of their organization. When I mentioned that her website made no mention of this so-called cardinal rule she became irate and said I could leave so she could help others in line.I wasn't trying to make a scene or be argumentative but I was merely wanting to find out why it was an issue to add a pet.I understand they exist on donations and the supply of food is limited but if the number of pets is an issue then why not just limit the point of food that is given for that particular client? She also stated that this rule is posted on the table when you are checked in but if it is it sure is not all that visible,I noted no sign making any mention of this iron clad rule.Very disappointed in them and especially Robin's negative attitude.

I had a very unpleasant and disturbing encounter today at your agency, Pet Pantry.I have donated food to you when able. After being in line, I was told I could not get cat food this morning because I "added a pet 2022 to 2023".I asked the name, or type of pet, as this is NOT true. I was refused an answer. I was refused proof.I asked for a copy of my 2022 application as it should show the same cats as 2022, 2023, and today, 2024.It certainly would be stupid to risk my cat food.I was told the 2022 app was not kept at Shepherd St. and I would be called to get a copy. I doubt that. But even if a staff error was made, I was "NOT getting assistance." Why not? And, we "can do whatever we want to you, including not helping you." Why?Errors can happen, and I was told "no error is possible". Why not?As a charity, you have a duty to be honest, reputable, and give a valid reason for any punishment. It is clear your staff is 1) mistaken, 2) have a dislike of me and so ended my assistance, or 2) I made an error on my 2022 app.Elder abuse, abuse of power, and bullying are unworthy of you. Particularly, when my partner blew his brains out in our tub, stole my reserve money, and tortured me 8 hours in a closet. Soldiers get purple hearts for surviving hours of torture. 1 in 3 women are harmed by a man. Shame on you enjoying hurting me even further today. You should never cause me more pain and hardship.Recipients should be set an example of how a reputable agency is run. Transparent, fair, and reputable. You punishing me and my innocent cats was inexcusable. In this country we are permitted to face our accuser and what we did.Who said I added a cat, and what is the proof?

I wouldn't even give them 1 star but apparently I have to. They denied me out of 250 people stood in line from 9am till 12:30 to be denied when I was already approved. I thought this place was to help people not degrade you and send you off feeling worthless. So I would NEVER send anyone over there for help just to leave more hurt then when arrived.. So not 1 * rated. Little suggestion is to NEVER say you've only had your fur baby for a couple months. That will get you disqualified. HOW RIDICULOUS.

I went to the Pet (animal) Food Pantry, available to families every other Saturday. These amazing people are so generous and kind. Honestly, I expected a long lecture about how many animals I have, before they would give me anything. They said nothing but, "Let's see, definitely need some kitty litter to start" ! LOL...OMG, Then proceeded to fill my cart with HUGE bags of dog food, HUGE bags of cat food, treats for both (Raw Hide, 8 lbs Box of Milk Bones, Kitty Litter, kitty nibble treats. ). They also have really cool 70's looking kitty and doggy collars) lots and they are so generous. When I got there, they advanced me to the front of the line, because one of the ladies in charge noticed me all on her own and went out of her way to look after a disabled older woman on a Walker. It was so kind I smiled

I went to this place And needed help. They are so kind and helpful. I have never had a bad experience with anyone that works there. Always making me feel welcomed. And if someone comes and they go ahead of the line the people there always make sure that the people who where waiting are well taking care of. And if you have a special request for can food(cause I have a older dog) and he only has 3teeth. They are more than accommodating to make sure that I get some. Thank you guys so much for being there when people like me really need the help.

Was rudely denied while inquiring on social media about their services. It's funny to me that this is supposed to be a non profit to help the community but they are so picky on who they want to help. What's the point then?
