Food trucks!

Oh how I love everything Halloween. From carving pumpkins to watching the Halloween marathon on SyFy. I dig me some Halloween. With that being said, I appreciate what the folks of Bakersfield Halloween town and Talladega Frights are trying to accomplish. My family and I decided to take my little kindergartener to check this place out. First off, make sure you go once the sun goes down. Experiencing Halloween town during the day is totally different than the night atmosphere. Second of all, don't forget to take some cash because they have some tasty food trucks and pony rides for the kiddos at $5. Face painting is free but Yelpers are tippers so a little tip I'm sure is appreciated. I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about this place after looking it up on Yelp and reading a one star review. Don't let that one star review set the bar for this place. My little lady had a blast. Cool corn maze, hay ride, and Charlie Brown on the big screen was super cool. I understand that Pony rides aren't not a representation of Halloween, but when it comes to seeing that smile on a little girl, that's all that matters at times. Parking is super available and the staff here are a bit edgy, but I can honestly say that this experience was far from a 1 star review. A little pricey, but not very many options in Bakersfield to experience anything similar to this so I'm willing to budget this in once a year. You get the feel of a carnival here with a Halloween twist. Didn't get to check out Talladega Frights which I hear is super cool. Next time for sure! Worth checking out Bako

A little pricey but cute set up. Kids had fun. Needs to have better lighting or some sort of direction since its hard to see. If i wouldn't have found the tickets on sale on a different website, I would not have paid the normal at the door price. They had different prices for different things but just to get it it was $15. If you were an adult and not in costume you didnt get a candy ticket but you still paid full price. This was just for the Halloween town. Not the scary mazes or anything.

Waste of money!! Do not spend your money here. $60 for a family of 4 to do what? Nothing really. Still have to pay for some rides inside and for pumpkins. Go to Murray farms instead. Waste of time.

Bakersfield Halloween Town has transformed! Took the grants this year and had a fantastic time. They've really outdone themselves. Love the new spacious place (the fairgrounds), so many new attractions, and - most significantly -how it is a scary but family-friendly, safe environment. My grands said it was the best Halloween party ever. We showed up at seven and were the last to leave with one fun-packed adventure after another. Well worth $15!

This year Halloween Town sucks! We spend $45 plus for the bracelets for 3 kids. There are not many activities for them to do. They couldn't do the corn maze or the pony ride that's extra charge. There is not alot of decoration or activities to do for the price. The workers were rude. Go somewhere else with ur money. This is not worth any money.

My family and I went to Halloween Town on Saturday night. We paid $ 90.00 for 5 adults plus an extra $10.00 for two pony rides. The hayride wasn't available and neither was the pumpkin cannons. This was not posted at the ticket counter because we would've saved our money and not gone. The owner, Mike Wilbur doesn't return my phone calls. It was very disappointing and a huge ripoff.

My brother and I took our kids a few days ago, on a Friday night. The kids had fun but there only a few things for them to do and not really worth $15 per kid. I'm giving this place 2 stars because of one specific vendor. The kid at the hot dog and funnel cake stand. My brother was in line in front of me, and ordered 3 hot dogs, one was almost burnt. The kid that was accepting the cash looked mad or upset, I don't know, but he was beyond rude! he told my brother to move because he was in the way, but he did not ask him politely. While my brother was waiting for his food; he asked the kid if he could give him some packages of ketchup, and this kid practically threw them at him! there was another person next to my bother that saw this and also looked at the kid like there was something wrong with him. I really think that if you're going to work at a food stand you shouldn't be rude to the people that are supporting your business. Someone needs to teach this kid some people skills! I don't think I will be going back next year. They need better food stands besides the 2 that were there and more activities for the kids.
