My first time going to the parade and it was an experience. The parking was interesting especially if your trying to get close to the actual parade but if you don't mind walking then you fine. We parked a couple blocks away on F street and the walk wasn't bad at all, by time we looked up there was the parade on H street and 21st it was a perfect spot to see everything. My niece was in the parade she's a flag girl and where we was standing we saw her perfectly, it was fun the people was nice and pleasant the kids was so excited and awesome. The kids laughter is something everyone can't help but feel happy. The night was not to cold but cold enough to wear a scarf. The floats were awesome kudos for everyone who participated it was great. Thank you Bakersfield.

Attended the Bakersfield Christmas parade for the first time this year because my daughters group "Good News Club" of Cesar Chavez Elementary has a float entry, which also won 1st place!! Woohooo!!! Like every parade in town, you have to hustle early to be able to get a good spot. We tag teamed with my friend and her family so we were able to get a "by the curb spot" at least an hour and 1/2 before the parade started. Since that was the arrival time for my kid to be with her group, it did not bother us. There were over 100+ entries this year so it took them atleast two (+|-) hours to do the parade. (We has to leave as soon as my daughters float went full circle). Plenty of food and toy vendors during the parade. It was really fun to watch and see everybody enjoying both participants and viewers. I'm so glad we get to experience this event. Hoping to make it next year.

This past Christmas parade December of 2019 was my 3rd time attending the parade. I worked several years downtown Bakersfield, but never attended because we can never find parking and for the crazy traffic before and after the parade. We had tried to come a few times in the past, but was never lucky enough to find good parking space. The last 3 times I didn't have a choice as my son participates with his school band. This year there was about 110 entries and my son performed with his HS for the first time and they were number 104 on the line up. If you plan to go in December 2020, make sure you come prepared. It's super cold, so plan on either bringing a warm jacket, gloves, maybe a blanket, bring your chairs, bring snacks if you don't plan on grabbing something at their stands. I also saw people bringing their own pizza and food; which is actually super smart and something I probably want to do next time. No lie... this year, I saw someone carrying a huge outside heater lamp. I don't know if I would go that far, but that was super duper smart. Make sure you plan on comfortability since the parade lasts about 2hrs.Anyway, the Christmas parade is such a fun event for the whole family. I see so much people bringing their loved ones. Little faces that look amazed and even the elders look so happy to celebrate this event. I recommend that you come early and plan on the traffic, plan on some streets being blocked off and definitely plan on pedestrians walking in the street, so be super careful.

Any parade in town you want to arrive early especially for the Christmas Parade. Parking is tough plan on walking but everyone is cordial. This is a nice parade. The town shows up to support in large numbers. The route for the parade is longer and it has a large number of participants. Its a nice family event, a great way to support the community.

Great big parade for the holidays! Lots of entries so the parade usually lasts long (about 2 hours). A nice event for the family to enjoy. Never been until this year. Always watched a live broadcast in the comfort of my warm and cozy couch & blanket at home! But this year our bagpiper marched with her Pipe Band so we went. We ordered Lyft to go to our meeting place because we didn't want to deal with having to try to find parking & the traffic after the parade. Some people we know who came had to park all the way up at 23rd & D Street!
