Updating to add, so I remember for next time I'm out here visiting my mother, that the green chile pork is SUPERB. One of the best implementations of this dish that I've had, and I should totally order that.

Wow! Such great food and service. We came to the poppy reserve and came here after building up some hunger from walking. We were greeted with a nice warm basket of tortilla chips and salsa...mm...I ordered the molcajete (my first time trying) it came as a hot plate with refried beans, cheese, and rice with a bowl of chicken, beef, and mushroom (stew?). It came with a side of a few tortillas as well! There was a choice between flour and corn. We also ordered a few tacos but I was too full and content. The service was amazing as well and I would love to try more dishes here.

Wow..! What a great new find. YES... it's a few miles out, but well worth the drive, to be sure. This recommendation came from friends, who know their stuff. And true to their words, it may not be a lot to look at from the street, but once inside it's a very welcoming and comfortable place. And extremely nice folks working there who make you feel right at home. So, you always have 'Chip Expectations' when visiting a new Mexican restaurant, and the bowl of chips (and two nice bowls of salsa) brought to our table were still warm. And they were so very good. I could have stuck with those alone and been a happy camper. They have an Abuelita hiding in the kitchen blessing each and every batch, me thinks. All four of us thought they were delicious.I had a carnitas burrito, mojado style (wet with sauce), with rice and beans. If the kitchen knows how to do a great pork roast for shredding it's a good sign, true..? Well, these folks do a GREAT job with their carnitas. No surprise, as the folks who run the place have a Dad and Uncle that started in the Santa Clarita area 30 years ago. Practice makes perfect, they say. But they've obviously not been merely practicing but perfecting to a higher degree. It was great. And my wife always says that a Chili Relleno is her indicator of a kitchens knowledge. She loved it, they nailed it, all great there. The son, who can be a bit pickier at times (life on the A scale...) had an awesome looking plate of simple but great nachos with beans and chicken. It looked like a picture from a cook book. In fact, when ALL of our dished came to the table... and we just sat and stared at them for a minute. This is beautifully presented food, truly. The daughter-unit had a quesadilla with rice and beans that were in miniature tostada shells, with a very nice guacamole and pico de gallo. Can I use the 'C' word here..? Her plate of food was cute. There. I said it. But seriously, in a world full of restaurants where it seems like some chefs just don't care, these folk care, and it shows. The manager also came by to say 'Hello' and check on us, and the wait staff were so sweet. We'll be back... get those shrimp ready, folks!

We visited for dinner on Tuesday with a party of four and it was a nice experience. They have moved back to their old location, so basically the exterior looks like an old house covered with graffiti. We were seated in a large booth in the corner, and drink orders were taken. The margarita was a little weak. The chips and salsa can not be beat. They homemade chips are addictive and their habanero salsa adds a nice kick. We ordered a couple Carne Tampiquenas, Enchiladas, and another Carne dish. All were excellent and well presented. You can't beat a steak wrapped in bacon! The service started out a bit slow, but improved as the meal progressed. He was nice enough to help with splitting the check and multiple credit cards. Overall: Stop by for excellent Mexican food if you are in the area.

Good food. Overpriced for Mexican food. There are a few places in town that I prefer, for both the food and the prices. But it's convenient for those who live in the acres.

Let me start off by saying service is excellent. However, the food and drinks are super overpriced. $14 a Michelada drinks. Which btw the mix they use has a weird aftertaste. This kind of Mexican food is only good if you're not Mexican and you don't know how authentic Mexican food tastes. It caters to American taste buds. Food is mid and bland. Head over to the taco stand by Dollar General instead and grab yourself a Clamato, limes and Modelo Negras...you're welcome :)

Quality of food in this place has definitely gone downhill. Used to be really good, but not anymore. Salads are pre-prepared and left in the fridge, ready to be served. They charge you more than the menu says for both the drinks and the food. Margaritas do not have much alcohol in them. We went in there for dinner; not only were their employees hot, so were the customers. The thermostat was reading 79°, and the AC was off.
