Apna Dhaba

Went to this food truck a few weeks ago while returning from Yosemite NP. It's right in the center of Bakersfield and serves authentic Punjabi food. It is run by two Indian ladies who cook and serve from a food truck. They have a lot of varieties on their menu.We tried sag paneer, kadhi pakoda and roti. All the items were really delicious. They also serve rice with their curries.The ambience is also similar to a traditional indian roadside dhaba. Will surely visit again.

This has to be one of the best tasting Indian food places I have been to in all of US! To find it in a truck stop in Bakersfield is actually not surprising as the critical ingredient in good Indian food is freshness, which a fast turning place like this will have vs a regular mall joint.

A new Indian food stand in place of the dhaba that was here before. No menu or hours posted. English was not really an option so it was sign language and pointing. Ordered two roti, and she showed me the two pots of what they had, a mixed vegetable dish and a lentil dish, showed me two sizes of containers, I pointed and it worked. Roti was fresh and the veg dish was tasty, she gave me a yogurt type item which paired well and took the spicy edge off. It appears they are new so I will give them a break, show them some love, be a good sport and give them 4 stars. The picnic tables are still here. A small veggie dish, 2 rotis, the yogurt side and a cold 7Up costs $12.00. I have very little experience with Indian food so I can't benchmark it, but I would eat he again. I wish these ladies luck and success.

The food here is delicious. It's Authentic Real Indian food Customer Service is great, Friendly ladies. The serving portions are generous and I had enough to take home. Me and Hubby will definitely come back and happy that this place is close to home.

If you want an authentic Dhaba experience, you've found the right place. The food is fresh, rich, and flavorful. The owners/cooks take great pride in their craft. My Punjabi parents signed off on this place, so you know it's the real deal. Be adventurous! Check it out!

Delicious food. Enjoyed the chicken curry with rice and garlic nan. Friendly gentleman at the entry of the food truck. My food was ready in about 10 or so minutes. Fresh hot and spicy. I tried the goat plate the next day and it was excellent.

Delicious food, very expensive. They charge different prices for Indian speaking and non speaking customers.

Was craving Punjabi food on our way home from Yosemite, this place was SO good! Highly recommend, and absolutely worth the stop. Its a family-owned business, and everyone was extremely nice and helpful. I can't wait for our next trip up north to stop by again!

Another authentic Punjabi food in town. Excellent service and good street food ambience. All five stars goes to Samosa itself, which has fresh peas and potato. Mostly samosas containing frozen peas. We have ordered Aloo Parathas, Samosas, Shahi Paneer and Yellow Daal with Rotis and Tea. Very authentic food, will try again, if we drive down there.

Authentic Punjabi food I ever had in California. It is small nice food truck with some seating arrangements outside. Can be hot to sit and eat in summer time. We ordered Paneer Makhani, Dal tadka, Naan and roti. Too delicious. Roti and naan were super soft. Gravy was made using realOnion and tomatoes instead of onion powder. Not greasy at all. Owner family was very lovely and caring. I give 5 stars to Apna Dhaba..
