We started our daughter here 3 years ago in swim. We quickly learned that private lessons are key. Even though the classes are smaller than most places , if you have 4 kids in a 30 min class that's 7.5 minutes that your child is getting instruction. Our daughter moved into cheer about 1.5 years ago, started in 101, moved into mid-season and is now doing prep. Once again private lessons have caused her to grow 10x faster than just the twice a week practice sessions. Listen to the director (Jason) and heed his advise. It won't be cheap but your child will excel, understand team work, get a strong sense of responsibility , all while having fun. The coaches on the cheer side are amazing with the kids and lead the teams to championships on a regular basis.

American kids sports is exactly that. They are horrendously expensive for kids coaching kids. This place is not worth your time or money

I am upset with their lack of communication at this location. I have an autistic child that attends there. I understand my son has some behavioral issues that we try to work on constantly. He was dropped without even consulting me after tuition has been payed and asked to select a different class to be placed on the waitlist for. My son has attended two of nine sessions and had one bad day this past Sunday. Was told "let's try again next week," and left the lesson early- which I wasn't upset about. But for them to not directly speak to me and email me in the middle of the week saying he's been dropped- is a terrible lack of communication. We should have been able to discuss the matter, maybe a switch in instructor if that instructor didn't like my child. I've also seen negligence on their part and have tried to bite my tongue when I've seen my child go under the water too long. And wound up coughing water even after the class for hours later. I see the instructor chatting it up instead of actually focusing on the private lessons my child has. Of course my child trying to get the instructors attention, who is excited about swimming - who has a communication barrier is not going to understand why he's not being let to swim, and being either held still or asked to just sit on the edge of the pool- is going to get frustrated. I as the mother get frustrated watching things like this. It's happened on too many other sessions but I've bit my tongue since my son likes it so much, since at the end of sessions we get dropped and told to go on a waitlist - a waitlist that is "first come first serve." What's the point of the waitlist then? I always try to get my son enrolled once contacted and am told "sorry that session is full, you'll be placed back on the waitlist." We wound up waiting over 6 months to get re-enrolled only to be treated with disrespect. I don't believe I will be returning. I will look elsewhere.

My son is always excited to go to his swim class here. I noticed a difference already with him in swimming as early as his second class! His confidence has gotten better in the water. On the other hand, I also found their facility easily accessible, clean, and organized. The good thing also in this center is the flexibility with the schedule. As a busy mom, there are days that I have to reschedule (makeup class) my son's session and it is possible here. Staff are nice and professional as well. Also, since they also have different classes to offer, the annual fee can go a long way not just for swimming class.

My son started with swim lessons with the goal of pool safety. We were recommended by a family member for their preschool after my energetic son outgrew home daycares (he's all boy and needs a lot of structure and physical activity). I was really nervous but it's been almost a year and I cannot say enough good things about the swim lessons or preschool. Miss Jennifer (preschool director) is amazing, patient and reassuring. Every single coach he's had for swim has been excellent (we love coach Derek so much!). Thank you American Kids for providing my son with so much active learning. He is constantly complimented on his clarity of speech (he's almost 3.5). He has come SO far. And to be honest, the price is quite fair for the amount they do for them

My kids have been doing swim lessons there for roughly a year and my son has made some progress while my daughter has learned NOTHING. I decided to switch them to a different school but had already paid for the coming month so I decided to use some makeup tokens for dance classes there for my daughter. I signed her up for today the 13th at 9:10 am. I showed up, went to the iPad and signed in. Been going here for a while so I know that if there wasn't a class for her today it wouldn't even let me sign her in but it did. We went upstairs and waited and no one showed up. I went downstairs and asked if there was still a dance class today and one girl said "yes! This is the last week of summer classes. Is no one up there?" I said yes. Then another girl butted in and asked for my phone number. I gave it to her and she tried to tell me that I signed up for a class on the 27th. I said "no I used a makeup token it showed me the calendar and I specifically picked the 13th" she didn't even listen to what I said and just continued to tell me I was wrong and that I signed up for the 27th. They said this was the last week of summer classes so where was the class then?? There explanation made zero sense. The first girl even told me there was a class today AND it let me sign in on the iPad. I'm thinking the teacher just didn't show up and they tried to save their ass. Safe to say I will not be coming back.

I really like bringing my two daughters here but lately a lot of the younger instructors are always (((on there phone )))instead of teaching them how to do some of the things they should really make the instructors leave ther phones when teaching the kids so they can dedicate there time to them and showing them got to do the moves this is the southwest location we go to

Well where do I begin?! I'll start by saying you better have VERY deep pockets if you want to have your child compete with American Kids?! We didn't have any plans to have our son compete but when he started he progressed pretty quickly?! Of course, me being naive thought my son was excelling but we quickly realized it was a money pit! When we were asked the 1st time to move up to a team lvl "Rockets" we weren't told about the Jump program at all?! I had to go and ask what the additional charges were about? I figured the monthly would go up (oh and boy did it $200+) but there's also something called Jump that I was told was $10 a month and then I would have to fund raise to cover costs for competitions etc. (even though lvl 3 Rockets does not compete) I was told they start parents in Jump even though lvl 3 Rockets don't compete to get parents used to Jump and fund raising?! So I bought the mandatory uniform and water bottle and we moved up. My son LOVED it and the coach Demetri is FANTASTIC...honestly, EVERYONE is nice... it's not a bad place! I'm just frustrated with the lack of communication?! We are NOT a rich family and we have to plan our bills because we live paycheck to paycheck! So when we were asked if my son was ready to move up again I immediately went to the front desk and asked about the cost (twice)?! I was told it was going to be $395 a month and NO mention of an increase in Jump fees? I swallowed hard and went home to BEG my husband...he finally agreed and we went to 1 class before I got a credit card charge for an additional $175 for JUMP?! I was in shock? I again went straight to the front desk where I was directed to talk to Sheryl?! She said the same thing she said the 1st time I confronted her about Jump "nobody told you"? I explained I was NOT told that JUMP went from $10 a month to $175?! So that means to have my son in lvl 4 boys team it's $570 a month plus???? I understand it costs money to have a child in gymnastics but it's important to let the payee know what $$$$ they will be expected to pay monthly?! We are NOT a family that has bottomless pockets?! That's why I specifically asked what the cost would be in advance?! I still don't understand why it goes from $10 to $175 but I'll never know because we had to walk away! My son cried the whole way home and then he cried himself to sleep?! I feel like a horrible mom but we just can't afford it and if I knew the total in advance I would have NEVER moved forward?! Again... coach Demetri is AMAZING...all the staff was wonderful! I hope that this review will help those that are unaware of how it works so you don't find out the hard way like we did?! I wish someone would have explained it to me so I didn't have to break my son's heart?!Good luck & God bless!!!!
