Ahi Sushi

Came on a Friday for lunch and i was surprised how many people came at lunch time! But looking at their menu They have some good lunch deals. Interior was warm and clean, and had great soft lighting. Great fast and friendly service. My friend and I were seated quickly and given drink options. We had some questions about the menu and then ordered. They brought out 2 bowls of miso soup which was a nice touch, really yummy. I had 2 rolls, rainbow and Las Vegas. Both had some of the biggest pieces of fish I've seen at a sushi place! Really appreciate the big portions. Everything tasted fresh, I did taste a hint of something like vinegar and I think I normally like my sushi just a little sweeter if that makes sense, but all of it was delicious! I will be back to try more!

Was so excited to try Ahi, family had been raving about it, sadly had a very disappointing experience. Took our grandma here for her birthday, and the service was some of the worst I've had in Bakersfield. To name a few issues:- The waitress didn't take all of our orders, she literally just left the table halfway in. We had to chase her down and ask her to finish taking our orders. - The staff never cleaned one dirty dish from our table. The dishes kept piling up to the point where we just bussed the table ourselves. - They forgot multiple entrees. When we asked them if they were coming they just kept saying they would check, but never followed up, and some of our food never even showed up (never got the chance to try the nigiri, which we came for). - The staff never apologized or tried to make right their mistakes. I totally understand being understaffed, but just tell us that instead of being rude when we're asking for basic things like getting the food we ordered. Overall, the food we were able to try was slightly above average and, as stated above, the service was significantly below average. Sounds like the boss was out of town, so maybe that's why the service was rough. Will give it another try at some point in the future.

Never received such awful service in my life. As someone who was a server and bartender for 10 years, I always give the benefit of the doubt and tend not to judge harshly, always leave a generous tip, etc... but these errors were inexcusable and truly ruined mine and my girlfriend's experience here. Our disappointment was mostly due to our server completely ignoring us while taking care of three other tables and even taking the time to chat and laugh with them while we were left completely unattended.My girlfriend ordered the flaming hot roll and sashimi sampler. We also ordered the spicy edamame to start with. I ordered the "Veg Ramen" which had a plant emoji next to it on the menu, so I assumed it was vegan. My mistake, but that could definitely be misleading for people who are vegan. When my dish came out, there was cooked egg in it. I planned on politely asking if I could have it remade without egg, but our server never came back to our table to check on us. It took about fifteen minutes before finally being able to catch her attention. Her section was basically a row of four tables, of which we were the third. She continually passed by our table briskly and with her head down, while still attending to and interacting with each of the 3 tables right beside us.One of her other tables was getting their second round of alcoholic beverages ordered and dropped off after we received our food and still had not been checked on.My girlfriend was more than halfway finished with her meal before I was able to even ask for a remake. To which the server responded, "for here or to go?" while still just barely starting to take drink and food orders for her other tables. This made us feel like we were being rushed out, while other patrons were still being welcomed. This was 45 minutes before their closing time btw, plenty of time to prepare a soup dish and for me to eat it. Initially, when we ordered our meals, our server said she would be back with our miso soups that come with our entrees. We never got them even though her other three tables all got miso soups. Yes, I looked!I had completely forgotten about it because I was so disappointed about everything else, but then my girlfriend pointed out that we also never got our spicy edamame.Finally the check came and of course the spicy edamame was on there despite never having received it. We were ready to leave, so I approached the waitress stand to just pay instead of waiting for her to come to us. I let her know we never got our appetizer and was dumbfounded by her response. She said when it came out of the kitchen, nobody could figure out where it went, so it was just given away to another guest. Nobody ever approached our table with it. Then I was still expected to pay for it? What a lame excuse, not to mention a clear lack of communication on her part between her and her coworkers. She took it off and I paid, and for the first time in my life did not leave any tip.This was our second visit. Our first was wonderful, we had a different server and the whole experience was great- but after this one we will not be returning. Being completely ignored the entire time we were there, while her other three tables right next to us all received attentive service, and then feeling rushed out was all totally inexcusable to me.Hire servers with experience who don't pick and choose which of their tables they actually provide service to. Had we not felt incredibly unwelcomed, she would have received a 25% tip. However, she made us feel like she did not even want to serve us and that is completely unacceptable.

Come here if you want very fresh sashimi! Excellent service as well! You will not be disappointed

We came on a Saturday late lunch. The restaurant is not too busy, there were 4 or 5 tables not occupied. We waited for a good 10 minutes before we got seated. Server serves the menu and drinks came. We ordered their bento combo. We were not really impressed by the the beef served to us. We were not impressed with the sushi that came with the bento as well. Overall, the ambience inside the restaurant was flowing okay. We did not finished our bento combo. I am not very much impressed with the overall food, and service we received from the restaurant. We left them some cash tip though. The quickness and flow of the waitress serving needs some fine tuning and timing.

The food was amazing, I had the spicy beef dinner and a Rosedale roll but couldn't catch a picture before I ate it. The service was quick and friendly. They seemed to be short staffed for a bit but still did an amazing job. The ambiance was great, it wasn't too crowded when we came in but it got full as we finished our dinner. The portions were great. I usually need 3-4 rolls to get full. Not today. It was great.

I am quite a hater of Americanized sushi. But Ahi Sushi is a good place. Huge servings, worth the price! I got the katsu and a salmon roll. The katsu was too thin I think, meat was overcooked. Makes sense with how thin they flattened the meat. I love that the salmon roll came with some slices of sashimi. The tempuras were great as expected, and you get lots of veggies between the steamed ones and the salad. Health is wealth!Our servers were fun, they were cracking jokes with us and it helps our vibes as patrons having a fun dinner. I mentioned that my friend was celebrating his birthday and they got us some fried ice cream to share. The portion is also huge. We were struggling to finish it!

Ahi Sushi is hands down the best sushi spot in Bakersfield! The vibes are incredible, with a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The service is top-notch, and our server Maisy was absolutely incredible and attentive, making the experience even better. The sushi--wow! Every roll is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The yellowtail was fire! This place is seriously worth all the hype. I can't wait to go back for more! *didn't take photos of hand roll and another roll. We ate it before remembering. It's THAT GOOD!

I was in Bakersfield before a big move and was in the mood for some sushi. I came across this place, and let me tell you, the food here is so damned delectable. The sashimi is buttery soft!We got a new worker who was in training, and she was really on the ball as well as her trainer!

Ahi is a great sushi spot! I've come here quite a few times. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I usually come here for their rolls, but this time I opted for a bento! It was a great choice and very filling. I just so happened to be there for their lunch special too, so that was a pleasant surprise. Since I was dining alone, I was seated at the bar. It was fun to see the sushi chefs make the rolls. However, I felt like I was getting in the way of the servers grabbing the orders. They never reached over me, just on either side. It didn't feel very comfortable though.
