Agave Azul Mexican Grill

I was looking for a place to grab dinner driving between SF and LA and Agave popped up on the map.It's a cash only Mexican restaurant that was larger than I expected and very clean. Not sure if it's family run but definitely has those vibes.We stopped by Friday evening around 5:15 pm and there were only a couple other folks (mostly locals) there.The menu items looked pretty standard. My friend and I both got a burrito; he got the veggie burrito for $8.99 and I had the regular carnitas burrito for $9.99. We also got chips and salsa for an extra dollar.The chips came with 4 types of salsa, including a very spicy jabanero salsa. My friend really enjoyed them all.The burritos were also very solid. There was a generous amount of meat in my carnitas burrito, and the carnitas was super tasty and not dry at all. My friend loved his vegetarian burrito as well, as they loaded it up with grilled veggies.

Lovely clean place. Service always so kind. Simple and delicious cooked meals. Carnitas are always great. Tried the breakfast this morning. Chorizo omelette with pinto beans no rice by choice. House made corn tortillas were outstanding. Filling and tasty way to seat your morning.

Very Good Mexican food 3 minutes off the 5. I was wanted so chorizo and eggs. I stopped here they were great and they had excellent guacamole Salsa Amazing and spicy loved it. The eggs were fresh eggs not egg wash and lots of Chorizo. Two steak tacos and i was full! Nice clean restaurant with clean bathrooms!

I'm blown away. At this divey looking truck stop of a place comes the freshest homemade Mexican food I've had in like ever. The most delicious carnitas burrito with homemade beans and rice...like each piece of carnitas was individually blessed and watched over by the chef, along with great attention to the homemade and fried wrapper. The Huevos Rancheros also had a delightful homemade fresh taste and was perfectly executed. Your experience will be better if you know some Spanish, which we did. You order at the counter and they deliver with a smile. Ambiance: hole-in-the-wall but clean. Not expensive. Hint: On the side of the building is a little parking lot that has some shade cloth.

I'll be coming back. Great midway between Fresno and LA. Nice people. Clean bathrooms. Food is good. If you're thinking of stopping at the Chipotle an exit or two south, STOP. Go here instead. Way better.

My husband & I stopped for breakfast. This place is very convenient off highway 5 (Bakersfield area) . We both ordered the Chorizo scramble eggs, with a side order of bacon. Very good & fast service, great price. Nice place to stop for a quick bite

Driving out of town and found this hole in the wall type restaurant. Amazing food, super clean and great prices!! Highly recommended.

Finally stopped in at this place . Driven by this place every month for the last 7.5 years. Stumbled on the reviews earlier this year and happy to have given it a try. Very clean, super friendly place . Breakfast burritos and Super burrito....delicious!
