I don't think it's acceptable to shame and constantly bring up a patients scaring during an appointment if that is not the reason for their appointment. During the last year, I've had 3 appointments in regards to a mole that changed shaped and concerns it was something more serious. Every time I saw Virginia Gifford and every time she just had to mention that I had acne scaring all over my face and "lots of it." It was very rude and demeaning. I thought she was trying to upsell me with laser treatment so I inquired about it, just to be told their laser treatments are not working and that I would have to be seen elsewhere. Then why bring up my scarring? She seemed more bothered with it than I did. I left with my self confidence in the toilet. Thanks. I will NOT be returning here.

I had a few spots that I wanted checked out so I made an appointment. I ended up getting dressed in the exam room and leaving without being seen. I was in the waiting room for an hour past my arrival time. I waited 20 minutes in the exam room before peeking out and inquiring on the wait time. I was told another 20 minutes. So 1 hour and 40 minutes? If I was late for the appointment I would have been charged a fee..I understand that delays happen throughout the day, but I feel the patient should be informed and updated about wait times.

In what I hope is my last and final update about this experience, after writing a public response to my first review (still no call back from the office returning my voicemail), Dr. Cardenas backdated a Discharge from Medical Practice letter and sent it to my home address. The letter sheds some interesting light on why this office is such a mess - it's sent from Santa Clarita. While I hope that the Physician Assistants aren't alone at the medical practice in Bakersfield while the "supervising" doctor is in Los Angeles County, it would explain a lot about their general incompetence and lackadaisical attitude about exposing patients and each other to COVID-19.

Horrible wait times. There was three ppl that left while waiting in the lobby and two that came out of their rooms and left. I've been sitting in the lobby for about an hour waiting to go back. Ridiculous. I guess I'll have to find a new Derm Dr.

This place was great! Wait time was minimal and the nurse practitioner, Niani Conerly, and medical assistant, Ayden, were extremely thorough and patient. They answered all questions we had and had wonderful bedside manners! Can't say enough great things about them!!!

This office is amazing. I showed up a day late for my appointment, and they still fit me in. I felt awful, but the front office was incredibly nice.I would go back for the friendly front office alone, but the nurse practitioner who treated me continued the trend of excellent service.She made me feel comfortable and important. I had three biopsies done on moles and all of my questions were answered patiently and thoroughly. If you are looking for dermatological treatment, this is the place!

I stopped going. Impossible to make a timely appointment. Scheduling is literally months out. Final issue was when they cancelled my July 3rd appointment a week out because they were on vacation. I guess they don't plan personal life that far in advance like they expect their patients. They couldn't get me in again for months. Ridiculous. Standard treatment, go somewhere else for better experience.

My daughter had an appt and we got stuck in traffic. I called the office to see if we could still be seen. Appointment was at 3:15 and I called at 3:25 letting them know we were stuck in traffic since I had to call three times to get through. So by the time they got in the phone with us being exactly two minutes away they said they would have to reschedule a simple check appt because we would be 2 minutes past the 15 minute grace period. The Doctor said daughter could not be seen because she had other patients behind her. But since we're going to be 17 minutes late and not 15 that was the Doctor policy. Doctors have no grace for patients anymore. It is get in get out, be on time or be off my schedule. This office is ridiculous with having any grace or understanding when patients have things out of their control. Had to reschedule for 2 months later if that tells you anything else about the doctor and the office.

Service was horrible. I waited over an hour just to see the provider. Showed up early as a courtesy and as respect to their time and I was in the lobby alone for about 30 minutes when two other appts arrived and immediately called back finally when I'm called to the back I wait another 45 minutes to be seen. I understand that things happen but you can easily communicate with your patients. I too took time off work to be here for the appt showed up on time did my part a little respect for my time would of been nice. Rude and unprofessional . I will never return.

I have been a patient of Dr. Cardenas for over 15 years. The practice is very professional. She has treated me for skin cancer. I have had skin cancer surgery and go for my routine skin checks at least 2-3 times per year. I have seen their PAs too and have been impressed with their level of training and care. I have been there recently and can attest that they are using all the latest precaution against covid 19.I know that thanks to their expertise, I am healthy and have beaten skin cancer!
