This theatre is a wonderful thing for kids that need a place to belong in some way. I've seen kids blossom here and do wonderful things. They build friendships, gain confidence, learn how to work together, learn responsibility and so much more... I've seen kids that have had behavioral problems change participating here. I've seen shy kids become bigger than life. I really can't describe how awesome this is. It may not be perfect as nothing is in life but it is a place that many need or love. Encourage your kids to try things they show interest in whatever they may be, they might shine! This theatre is about the kids

Our children have tremendously enjoyed being a part of AOTCB's theater "framly". They have grown in to their own little shells and have learned so much about theater and made so many friends in the process.

My step daughter was in a performance and it was such a great group. Although she had a small part, she fell in love with the whole process. They even grabbed her baby brother from his mom and stuck him in a scene! Cool people adding some needed culture to our town.

My kids have been doing theatre for just over 5 years. We have been doing shows with AOTCB since its opening and have been very impressed with it. The staff clearly loves the children and takes an interest in each child, they teach value for every part (no matter how big or small), there is strong emphasis on teaching ALL aspects of theatre, and it is clear this is a safe place for kids to express themselves. With ages running from 5-18, there are no outsiders. The older and/or more experienced actors are always willing to help with the newcomers. It is a very warm and welcoming environment to be in.My kids love AOTCB because now that they are older they have opportunity to do shows that they can not find at other companies. The teen shows have really been powerful and I have seen growth in all involved. We look forward to many more shows with AOTCB!Do not miss out!

My daughter has participated in two performances with this theatre company. After the first performance, we were unsure whether we would have her continue or take the more traditional route and taking classes that specifically teach acting technique. Being new to the acting scene, we were told that the philosophy is that children learn best by doing and when they have the incentive of a performance to culminate their hard work. We liked this approach at first. However, after the auditions it became clear that lead parts were given to family members of the staff or to veteran actors within the organization, and there was not much technique or skill ever discussed or worked on during rehearsals.Against the better judgment of her father and myself, our daughter asked to do another production. Rather than seek out a new facility and formal training, we chose to give AOTCB another try. Registration increased by $50 and there was also now a costume rental fee and required shoe purchase, as well as a requirement for actors to sell a minimum raffle ticket obligation. The performance also included a song with inappropriate words and the option for actors to use their middle finger as a gesture during the song. The use of profanity and offensive gestures/language was never discussed as a precaution during the registration/ pre-audition meeting. The final straw occurred when I approached staff about a conflict in show times with a personal obligation. I was told that my daughter missing the performance would result in her possibly being banned from other performances and that she showed a "lack of commitment." Mind you, she has never missed a practice for either of the two performances she has participated in and was often at rehearsals that she was not needed for. She had no speaking or solo parts and was part of a chorus. The lack of respect and proper communication from the staff left me floored and desirous of just pulling my daughter from the production altogether. I was told I would not receive my registration back if I did this. The staff member then proceeded to reach out publicly to my daughter's other parent and his wife, and proceeded to detail our private conversation with them. The lack of ethical behavioral displayed was absolutely appalling. I reached out to my daughter's father and he told me word for word what this staff member (Melissa, the owner I believe) discussed with my daughter's step mother, which was a direct breach of the privacy assumed between a parent/consumer and the business. When asked why she felt the need to discuss what we discussed to the other parent and what she hoped to gain by relaying our exact conversation to them, she did not respond. My daughter will not be returning to this place. The lack of professionalism and just human decency is appalling. As a parent, and as a parent in a split family home that involves gentle and very careful co-parenting to keep the peace, the sheer indecency and devastating potential that could occur by an organization head meddling and intervening and discussing private conversations regarding a child is just shocking and horrific.

I can't thank the staff at AOTCB enough for the support and kindness they have shown my young actors and family over the past few years. My girls have gained confidence both on and off stage and continue to grow with each performance. I highly recommend it to any aspiring actor!

I love that no matter if you have a speaking role or not you still are very involved in the play or musical. A very friendly atmosphere. I recommend it if you're a beginner or an experienced actor!

Acting Out Theater Company has been such a wonderful place for my son to express himself and make great friends. They have great directors, and support a non-judgmental environment where kids can learn more about the theater while having lots of fun and getting to explore new experiences. I would highly recommend this theater company to anyone who has children that are looking to explore acting, even if they are a little shy at first, they will be made to feel so welcome and loved by the end of the show!!
