Here I am in town again! Just like my last visit, I'm sharing my thoughts once more. It's always a delight to return and stock up on some fresh fish and oysters.

Can't make it to a Seafood City Market in the L.A. area? No problem! Head on over to A & J Seafood in Delano. It is a small market in Delano, but they carry all the Filipino groceries you need to make yummy Filipino mealsIf you like fresh fish, they got that too. They will even clean it for ya if you want them too. Very cool and convenient! Prices are reasonable. Store is pretty clean. Will return from time to time whenever we are in Delano. Lot closer than going to Southern California.

I do love the variety of stuff this place has to offer, but probably will not return. On 7/25/24 in the afternoon there were 2 female cashiers in conversation. One of the cashiers were saying something then the other female said in their dialect "she's going to understand what you're saying." She was correct, I understood exactly what she said. She and the other female cashier were talking about their private parts. Gross. Very unprofessional especially since they are running a food business here touching and checking out food items. When I got home. I noticed one of my vegetable packages had a hole in it. Tossed it right away. One suggestion to the female cashiers that day. Please keep your conversation professional and don't assume your customers don't understand your dialect because I understood you both clearly.

Wanted to get about 12 lbs of frozen octopus to marinate for Christmas eve. The fish counterman went back into the truck parked behind the store and the freezers and opened a case of frozen (2-4lbs from Phillipines , the octopi I bought were individually bagged and weighed 3.6 to 3.7 lbs. ) I returned 2 days later for a few squid to add to my seafood rice - they carried both fresh baby squid , about 5-6 inches long and large squid, about 16 inches long. I think 4.99/lb for the squid and $5.99/lb for the octotpus. I didn't buy but they had beautiful fresh mackerel as well as about a dozen other fresh fish. Big selection of Filipino groceries like ube ice cream and some specialty veg. That selection appeals to a specialty cook looking to do south pacific cooking but the fish and seafood appeals to for everyone. Crowded with packed shelves, cramped and jumbled like many ethnic grocers. Day before Christmas eve it was PACKED. Everyone was speaking Filippino but English was spoken, no problem.

Man I have not visited this store in ages. When I lived in Delano, this was always my "go to" Filipino grocery store. I forgot how much I loved all the fresh fish that they have and all the selection of items they sell here. You can also ask if they can clean up the fish for you so you don't have to scale it at home and to me that's always a plus. They also sell fresh produce and have tons of bakery items from Goldilocks and specialty products you can't find at normal grocery stores. This is a family owned business and the staff are always friendly and very helpful. They also have movies on the other side of the store and day to day items for your beauty regimens as well as household items. The store is small inside, but they always keep this place nice and tidy.Location is in a nice area and there's plenty of parking. I'm so happy to see that this store is still up and running after all these years. It's nice to know that we can always come here if we need any items to cook Filipino food. I definitely recommend this Filipino grocery store!

Rude cashiers. Maybe I interrupted the 2 eating Mcdonald's. I asked where the Hopias were and they pointed. I haven't been there for YEARS because of bad service-& they still do!!! I still exactly didn't know where to look! I bought Holand Hopias from the frozen aisle (from other places), but there hopias were stocked outside on the shelf! On the package it says KEEP FROZEN! As I placed my basket and removed the items she threw it across the counter...is she mad or having a bad day? Well I'm never coming back here with her attitude (she has long black hair with glasses). As I was told by other customers, she always has a bad attitude.
