I've been to this place twice, with my last visit being about 15 years ago. Back then, I didn't enjoy the food. This time, I was craving something fresh and decided to give it another try. I placed my order via a phone call, my call was answered immediately and my order was taken. I ordered two fish tacos and two shrimp tacos, all without onions, and a large pulpo cocktail. I was pleasantly surprised--the tacos were incredible! The fish was crispy, not soggy, and the shrimp tacos were generously filled with shrimp. The cocktail was excellent, cold, and delicious it had plenty of pulpo. I would definitely return. However, I gave them 4 stars because the large octopus cocktail was $28, which I found a bit expensive. I expected a large serving, but the portion was small, about the size of a small Coke at Burger King. Despite this, the food was great, and I would go again. Sorry for lack of picture.

We ordered the fish tacos, one shrimp taco and one marlin taco today (7-26) from Baja Fish Mart in San Ysidro. Guessing someone in the kitchen never heard the saying: "We eat first with our eyes." The fish tacos were packed into a four compartment box where two of the compartments were much smaller than the main one; those two tacos were smashed flat open in over-lettuce stuffed corn tortillas. The other two were splayed open-- sorry I didn't add a picture. Whitish lettuce covered all of the fish tacos along with tomato bits and red onion. The fish was over the corn tortilla so by the time we tried rolling them in a hand the entire taco was overly mushy and the taco fell apart!Overall the flavor of the ingredients in the fish tacos was as unappetizing as the 1st view! The shrimp taco as likewise covered with the unsavory lettuce and bits of tomato, but the corn tortillas for these had been passed through oil that obviously hadn't been hot enough so the oil dripped from the ingredients onto the plate, on hands and clothing. The several bites taken from the ntire taco was definitely a YUCK!The shrimp in the shrimp taco had a decent flavor but again due to the old, white lettuce with little flavor, I left most of my lettuce on the plate. From my tacos I choked down a few bites of seafood, some bites from less than half of the tortillas and that was it.My wife felt a little bit better about her marlin taco but it also was not appealing.Whatever happened to this restaurant which before had been decent, our taco dinner was very unacceptable. We are very unimpressed by our purchases from Baja Fish Mart and disappointed; guess we now know we'll have to go somewhere else because this place is the totally in overpriced and underwhelming. My wife asked why the fish tacos were so much more expensive at the restaurant than the menu prices we saw online, before paying for everything??All I can answer is, "As if we expected the site to value us as informed Customer's!??"

Got a california burrito and theirs had shrimp. Don't like shrimp. This was more of a surf & turf than a california burrito so i was disappointed. online also their prices says $17.99 for the burrito but i got charged $22... Disappointed at this over priced burrito i would never pay $22 for a damn burrito when their prices online say all the food is cheaper.

Love this great family owned business. Excellent quality food and service. I have been going for over a decade and have never been disappointed. It's the place to take your family and friends to enjoy the art of Mexican seafood. I can't wait for my next visit..

Amazing Baja experience on this side of the border I come in for the fried fish and it's never been a miss. Fresh fried fish in San Diego is hard ti find a good place. We ran into this place on the way to Mexico to get some fried fish and cocktails and decided to try it if it wasn't good we would keep rolling but they saved us lots of time and traffic. We needed up loving this place and now I come here all the time. The lady's always give us great customer service the shrimp cocktails are fire and fried fish to die for. Enjoy

Do not eat here, they seemed to give us a consome Chico $1.50@ inedible, charged us for some watery salsa and chips, the shrimp tacos were canned tiny shrimps and added a 4% terminal charge, our 2 tacos each ended up at almost $60 with 1 shared Pacifico beer

I've been here a few times but I don't think I will be spending my money here anymore. The food was mediocre, the fish tacos were good but nothing extraordinary (you can get better tacos at the roachcoach). The michelada and clamato were ok. What was definitely a "must not have", was their tostadas - the aguachile, ceviche de camarón and Al tata ($20) tostada was just bad, big disappointment. The aguachile is basically water with Chile verde- no lime or salt and mainly red onion. The tostada Tata has no flavor other than the black pasilla salsa on top(I'm assuming it's pasilla) and it's really bad. The worst part is they are understaff and the service is not the best for a Mexican sea food place that you would usually get at other sea food restaurants. The only thing I would say it's good it's their consomé (free with purchase ) other than there isn't much else nice to say. I imagine they are cutting down on quality of ingredients, you can tell. Even the ketchup seems watered down. If you do decide to come here, don't get anything that is not cooked/fried.

Family owned and operated, very cozy and very clean atmosphere. Service was outstanding and very pleasant, the fish tacos outstanding and full of flavor, tacos were not dripping oil and the batter was light and flaky. One of us had the TJ Burrito and it's was a huge full size burrito filled with carne asada, shrimp, rice melted cheese and took 1/2 of it home. Agua de Pepino was very fresh and flavorful and so was the Mango Margarita was very tasty like a chamango. Will definitely be back and try their capechana cocktail and their Pulpo cocktail. Gracias!!!
